Update: Wendy Lou's Journey

April 23, 2008

1st visit this AM with the Infertility Department. They took 3 big tubes of blood-the vampires! Said that would be the most they take at one time, thank goodness, lol! Want DH to go for an SA even though we became preggers quickly when we 1st started TTC-need to rule him out. Basically they did not tell me anything today that I did not already know (how baby's are conceived, ect-kinda like 9th grade biology class, haha!) Must loose 10 lbs to begin treatment next mnth, so getting to work on that TODAY :)

Next appt is this Friday, the 25th. More bloodwork & then back again on Monday for US.

DH hates going to the Dr so he is NOT going to be thrilled with the SA, lol!

Any suggestions from everyone on questions I need to ask would be greatly appreciated, thanks!!

Also, they mentioned doing the test with the dye to see of my tubes are clear? Does this hurt? Is it a surgery? Does it even seem ness since I have already become pregnant, just didn't stick?

April 23, 2008

Hi Wendy

The Test is called an HSG... it doesn't hurt but you will feel crampy when it is being done. take some motrin 30 to 45 minutes before hand. I have had 4 of those test done and each time i get them done i am already prone to the cramps but that is all you will feel.

April 23, 2008

Thanks Dawm, is it considered a one day surgery or something they do at the Dr's office?

April 24, 2008

Bump for Katie & the ladies :) Thanks again Katie!!

April 24, 2008

Wendy.. like I said in the other post the HSG is not that bad.

I would def ask the doc when u can start TTC again. Dr Q said that u should be able to start right after it is done. It can increase ur chances since everything is clean and clear in there after the HSG.

If no advil the tylenol. I know that u can take that when ur preggo.

April 24, 2008

Are you seeing an RE Katie?

April 24, 2008

I only went to get my reversal done and then if I need to get my HSG done but besides that I am not.

He told me after my reversal that I shouldnt have to come back to him b/c I shouldnt have a problem getting preggo but next month will be 6 months and nothing besides the chemical in Dec.

April 24, 2008

Sorry to hear about the chemical :( How old are you if you don't mind me asking? I'm 33, 34 in Oct.

April 24, 2008

I am 30 Wendy. I just turned 30 in March. We both still have a few more years be4 we need to start worring about the age thing. LOL

April 24, 2008

Hopefully the HSG will do the trick for you then, lol!!

April 24, 2008

Wendy, I am hoping not to have to get it done. I am hoping for my BFP on Sat! I am waiting to see what happens with that.

April 24, 2008

Keeping my fingers crossed for you Katie!!

April 30, 2008

Just got the test results back from the RE, everything is normal except my estrogen levels are really low. Need to be 300 or better & mine were 58, 60something & then 75.

Now the RE has decided that I must lose 25 lbs before I can begin treatment when last week she said 10. The only test they will do is next month is the HSG. Who knows whenI will get to begin meds again, & obviously I will not ovulate in the meantime.

I am so depressed. Got the call from them at work & had to go to the restroom for a minute to cry :( So upsetting to have a stranger give an ultimatum like this. I cannot understand the difference in this week & last & was just too shocked to ask.

April 30, 2008

PS, Katie are you out there? Did you get your BFP? I was not on this weekend or yesterday....

April 30, 2008

Wendy Lou.... I didnt get my BFP this month but I am going tomorrow to get my HSG done. I am so excited and tomorrow cant come fast enough for me. The fertility doc is doing it for me. I dont have insurance so I am having to pay for it all out my pocket. It is costing me $ 810.00 so I am hoping that everything is all clear in there and there is no blockage in there. If there is I am going to be so destroyed. I am not goign to know what to do. I will be crying my eyes out the whole time. I will get the results right then and there. I think that it is a good idea to get it done if ur not preggo within 6 months just to make sure that everything is fine.

May 01, 2008

Aww, Katie, sorry about the BFN! Good luck with your HSG this morning, will keep my fingers crossed for you. I'm sure everything will be fine & hopefully with everything being nice & cleaned out your BFP will be right around the corner :)

Not sure how I feel about having the HSG next month...If I haven't gotten close enought to my weight goal then I will not be able to start the meds & trigger shot right after the HSG & it seems a waste to have it done if we will not be ttc right away. I mean if it increases your chances to conceive right after then it seems smarter to wait until ready to try again, don't you think? Maybe I will talk more about to the RE when I go back to have the cyst looked at...Keeping you in my thoughts today, good luck!!!

September 10, 2008

Hi Wendy Lou

I have my sa results in today looks like a good improvement fingers crossed.

hows things with you good i hope?

Just thought i would pop by and say hi x

September 10, 2008

Hey Tammyann, that's great news! Assume that the Dr's were hopeful that this would improve your chances? Are you using any meds (clomid, femera, ect.)?

Things are going fine with me, just alittle stressed about other issues w/Dh's health that are not TTC related. I am now CD3 & just waiting to get some OPK's & start taking the robitussin again. It seemed to work wonders for me last cycle so I am excited to try it again. Thinking to use the OPK's this time to see if I am O'ing on my own again. We'll see.

September 10, 2008

General update to my journey since I have ignored it for many months, lol:

I am no longer with my RE-I was very uncomfortable with them & did not feel kiek they were paying too much attention to my medical care. Example: I went 50 some odd days without a cycle & they did not rx anything for it till I asked them to. Just a bunch of "little" things like that that made me uncomfortable with having them in "control" of my reproductive future, lol. I am currently in limbo, waiting to be able to get an apt with my old Dr-the one that I loved!

Anyhoo, the good news is that I just had a lovely 28 day cycle-for the 1st time in about 6 mnths, woohooo!!

September 10, 2008

Wendy Lou....it is great to hear that you went to another RE. My RE didn't say anything about having to lose weight. I asked her if my weight was going to be a problem and she said no. Hopefully your new RE will give you better care! Fingers crossed that this will be a good month for you!

September 10, 2008

Thanks Annette! Yeah I did not care for them at all & feel soo much less stress now that I am no longer seeing them. Hopefully this short/regular cycle is an good omen for things to come :)
