TTC my first child at 29....

I have been TTC for the past five years. No, I do not mean the conventional kind of conception via BD. Rather, it has taken us five years to get to the right place in our lives (financially and emotionally) to bring another soul into our family. I realized how much joy a little baby can bring into the family when I first held my niece in my arms. She was (and is) such a beautiful little angel, full of love, laughter and smiles. While she and her little brother will always be my first babies, I cannot wait to hold my own bundle of joy in my hands. We BD for the first time last month. Things did not click. This month, I have BDd 3 days before, the day before and the day of the positive opk. I am really praying that this is my month. I know I have been TTC for only a month now, but I already feel like I have waited so long for my husband to get to the same place as me. I sometimes feel so lonely in this quest, and I am so thankful for supportive caring women like you

Thanks for checking in. After my too-faint line on friday, I have not tested again. Tomorrow (monday) is supposed to be day 1 of my period. I plan to test tomorrow AM. I am a little optimistic, cos I dont see any breakouts on my face (this has NEVER happened before). How are you doing? Did you have a good weekend? Still crampy?

Hey Lisa, thanks for checking in. I tested again today (15 dpo and AF supposed to show up today). Again got a really faint line. I am now getting worried as the line is not getting any darker. My friend asked me to try clearblue digital test. I'm going to try it tomorrow. Maybe i'll have more luck? How are you doing dear?

another faint line today. I have been feeling a light pulling in my lower left side. I am really afraid that this may be an ectopic pregnancy. The doc has asked me to come in for an hcg test tomorrow and then one more a few days later. I'm taking the clearblue test tomorrow morning....thanks ladies for your support. YAAAAY!!! I am sooo happy you finally got that BFP!!!! That's fantastic! I HATED the line tests! I LOVE the digital :) To me the lines on the tests are too hard to read! what is a BFP - only looks like a faint line! Just like what happened to you! I can't wait to hear your numbers!

Typhani, thank you so much for giving me hope. My doctor called today and said that my numbers went from 79 to 129 from friday to sunday. That is a good rise, but 129 is still low. She wants me to wait till friday and test again. I was crying endlessly during the weekend, but now, after the doctor gave me a tiny bit of hope, I am not stressing myself cos i dont want to hurt my little bean. I've decided to just pray and wait. How are you doing?

Congratulations on deciding to partake in the TTC journey!
The TTC journey can be a very long and difficult- and as you said lonely road. Please do not get discouraged if it takes a little more time than you would want or expect it take. Every couple TTC has only about a 20% in conception each cycle. Many couples it takes a year (or more) to achieve their dream in becoming a mommy or daddy. I've learned through my TTC journey that sometimes the harder you have to try for something- the more you appreciate it! My hubby and I got pregnant April 2007- but lost the baby in June 2007 :( we started TTC very shortly after the D & C- and didn't fall pregnant again until April 2008. I am now 22 weeks pregnant with a little boy :)
