About Me
June 30, 2008
After trying to conceive #1 on fertility meds for months, I was given a great New years day present...a positive. I began spotting very early on but no reason why could be found. I would go weekly for sonos but all was well with the baby with still no explanation. When I hit 3 months, I began bleeding heavier- this time red blood. I went to the doctors to find out I had a blot clot in my placenta which they believed i must have torn. To this day, i still do not know how. I was very careful. The doctors told me it was a slight tear and that it would heal with time. I was put on bedrest for 2 weeks and the bleeding stopped. I was told i could go back to work. I was fine, no pain, no blood. The night before easter i felt a little wet, but i thought the baby was pushing on my bladder. Easter morning i woke up to go to the bathroom. I began gushing blood and it would not stop. My DH and I rushed to the ER. They did a sono and we saw our baby moving with a healthy heart beat. The doctor finally walked in and told me that my water had ruptured and we had to abort the pregnancy. I began to cry hysterically. They induced labor and I delivered a baby boy 11 hours later. After doing a thrombophilia panel, they found that I have a MTHFR mutation with elevated levels of hyper homocystemia. I am on Metanx to help bring those levels down which the much sought out folate i need to sustain pregnancy. I am now TTC again... scared to death, but desperately wanting a baby.
