Doctor appointment today, talked about doing Laparoscopy to check for Endometriosis...will also do HSG-type test while he's there to check for any blockage in my tubes. Went off Metformin, doc doesn't think I have PCOS based on my hormone levels and regular cycles. Pre-op scheduled for Nov. 21st, surgery Dec. 3rd.

Hi James - it stinks that you have to have surgery - but if they can solve the problem and make it so that you can conceive without issue- that's great! I wish you all the luck in the world:).
As for me - I'm a little frustrated this cycle. Last month when I saw my OB I requested a referral to an RE, and he told me that he wanted me to stay in his clinic on the clomid for another 3 months before proceeding to an RE. Well, when I was in on Monday to see him he asked why I hadn't been referred out yet. Talk about frustrating! His office can do IUI, so I am meeting with the practitioner that does all of that next month. I expect we will be referred out and while we are waiting for an appointment with the RE, we will start IUI in January with the practitioner at my OB's office if I'm not preggo by then. Other than that - still in my fertile time this month- I'm CD 17, and I usually O on CD 17 or 18 so we are making sure that we get some good BD'ing in this month:).
Hope all is well, and please keep me updated!!!

Hi Ash-
Well I am on CD 20 and have been getting busy with the baby dancing over the past week...just noticed EWCM this evening, so it's late, but better late then never!! So I guess this cycle will be longer. My bbs still hurt really bad, and today I was having shooting pains in my armpits that would make my arms numb to my fingertips for a split second...it was the strangest thing, so I am definitely going to ask my dr about it. I may even call on Mon. morning.
So I thought you were back to TTC already? Well whatever you decide I wish you luck, and hopefully we can continue to be cycle buddies and pg buddies too!!

hey there james I was just wondering what the steps were for you to get the doctor to check you for endometriosis. If you don't mind what tell me what some of your symptoms where to make you think you had endometrosis. I am going to see the dr. on nov 24th to see of he should do testing on me for it. but i am not sure what to say or what to tell the dr. thanks a bunch
Complete hormone testing is first. All mine came back somewhat normal, so that is why my doc didn't think PCOS...I also had MRI to check for pituitary adenoma, because I had a slightly elevated Prolactin level, but all looked normal there. The only real symptoms I have are so-far unexplained abdominal pain, sometimes pain during sex, and really heavy periods. But I have regular cycles and I also ovulate on my own, which was another huge clue to my doctor that I don't have PCOS. Just find the right doctor that knows what they're doing and is willing to listen and work with you, that makes it so much easier. Good luck hun, let me know how everything goes for you.
P.S. The only absolute way to be sure if you have endo, is to do a laparoscopy, and biopsy. My doctor is also going to do an HSG while he's in there just to make sure there's no blockage.
