Anyone TTC #1 naturally in their late 20's?

October 21, 2009

I'll be 28 next week and my DH & I are TTC our first naturally. Only started on this journey two months ago. I'm looking for a buddy that's about my age & is TTC naturally, to go through my journey with.

Hi CK! Welcome to the site girlie ;-) Sweet of you to check on me! No, still no progress here. There's a lot of pressure once you hit the 1 1/2 yrs or more of TTC (which i pray you never will) to automatically start up with the fertility treatments. I'm really trying to stick with the natural way like you. I haven't lost all hope yet i guess...lol.

My cycles can be very long as well. They range from 20-52days. They go in a pattern. One cycle it's 20days...next cycle it's 40 days or more. But i am ovulating according to my charts. Are you doing the basal body temperature charting?

Hopefully you'll be blessed with a little miracle here soon CK =)

Hey Carolyn,

I have only been using OPK's. I guess I need to start BBT charting also this next cycle. But the thing is, I work midnight shift and not a stead schedule, so I dont get up at the same time each day. Sometimes I get up at 4pm, sometimes 7am, sometimes 2am. So that's why I never bothered starting.

Best of luck on your journey! You'll get there.

I am 26 and currently trying to conceive via iui. years ago i had an abnormal pap and had to have a cold knife cone biopsy to get rid of all of the cells. bc it was such an extensive removal it actually affected my fertility. i have to go in again bc when the healing was done it had actually scarred over and closed my cervix i actually could not even get my af..........the most painful thing ever. Now it is actually open but the canal is very narrow and bc so much of my cervix is cut off i do not produce enough cervical mucous to carry the sperm up.our next options was iui.

Hey Mrs. Ping. I see we're in the same boat. AF come this afternoon along with some horrible cramps so I am really bummed. Here's to November for us both.

Hoping, how long have you been using IUI to TTC? Thats terrible that you had to have the cone biopsy, I remember that procedure looking pretty scary. What CD are you on, or DPO?

Hi Ck! Yea, with a schedule like that...I see why you don't do it. If you do decide to try it...my advice is to get the "Taking charge of your fertility software". It very well could be the answer you're looking for...it calculates everything for you. So even if your times are all over...the software will keep you on track! You can try a free trail of it at www.tcoyf.com. I did the trail, and then purchased it for $40. Defiantly worth every penny! Sorry to hear your AF came :-(

Mrs. Ping, November 3rd is around the corner!! Let us know the results =)

Good luck ladies ;-)

Thanks for the software tip! I think this month I'll start doing the OPK test earlier than what I have been, since my cycle was a lot shorter this month. It was only 27 days. I can't remember ever having a cycle that short in years.

I have a routine PAP next month, so I'm going to talk to my doc then about all this TTC business.

Hey Jess14 - how long have you guys been TTC? This will only be month 3 for us. How long are you cycles typically? Mine are "usually" about 35 days, but this last one was only 27. I'm on CD2!

hey ck... we started trying in June/July.. so we haven't been trying that long... even though it sometimes feels like forever :) We did get pregnant right away in the beginning which ended in the miscarriage, so we had to wait for af to return... and no luck this cycle :(...

my cycle is 'normally' 29ish days, this month 30... I'm on CD2 also!!!! it will be soo nice to have someone to go through the 2ww with :):):):):)

Hi. I'm 28 and hubby and I began ttc in August. We are on our third cycle of ttc naturally. I don't temp, opk or take meds. I simply take note of my cm and minimally time sex. I didn't want the process to become to stressful overwhelming so early in the game. :-)

Jess - yea cycle buddies! It's good to have some people who are at the same time in their life, and that can relate to what you're going through. So sorry about your M/C. And I think its good you are trying again right away.

hoping - good luck with the testing. Hope you get the BFP this month with the rest of us!

KyLee - I think you have the right idea. I think we ALL could benefit from stressing out less. Luckily, I think everyone in here seems to be keeping their cool thus far. Do you know about what day you are on in your cycle?

Hi Kylee... welcome!!! i know what you mean about stressing... hehe... i NEVER thought in all my life that trying to start a family would be stressful... but its funny how things become scary or stressful when they dont happen when or how you thought they would.... i am on my 2nd cycle of trying naturally after m/c in aug.

CK... i hate this time of the month... lol.. even more now since ttc :)

Hi everyone.. I also got the leep procedure done a few years ago and removed part of my cervix.. I then got cervical stenosis and then a D&C cuz i basically hemmoraged (sp?) my uterus from my blood not able to get out of my uterus. So once again cut away another chunk of my cervix..

We are doing IUI's to get pregnat. But do you guys know if cervical stenosis can make you have C-sections?? I really dont want a c-section

Well......I'm almost 27 and waiting to do IVF next spring but until then we are TTC naturally. We were given a less than 5% chance of getting a BFP naturally due to tubal infertility caused by severe endometriosis but my only tube is open (although damaged) so we figured what the heck, I just had a laparoscopy in June, everything was cleaned up...we just might get a miracle. We've been TTC for over 2 years now.

ttc4-2010...I know i had asked my gyno the same thing bc the same situation happened to me and she said that not neccessarily....if my cervix begins to thin out then they can put in a small stitch to hold it and remove it when time comes to have the baby. but then everyone is different.

October 26, 2009

Ya.. I know that with cervical stenosis its harder to concieve naturally since it takes so much more ump to get sperm through. so im glad im doing a IUI.... Question though- could i ask my doctor to stick me up regaurdless so i dont even have to worry about it? what week do they do it

CK

October 26, 2009

I think that little stitch is called a Cervical Cerclage (sp?) I've read a lot of women who have had cone biopsies or LEEP's have had that done. Definately ask your doctor about it. I guess it just keeps the cervix completely closed so the little one doesn't fall out. lol :)

Jess- When are you going to start your OPK tests? I went to Walmart yesterday after work and got a 20 pack. Everything I buy the 7 pack, I run out.

About Me

I am a newly married, 28 year old. I have had some irregular PAP's, 2 colposcopies and one LEEP procedure about 2 years ago. My husband and I thought we may not be able to get pregnant as easy as couples with no past complications, so we decided to start trying right away. I typically have long cycles >35days.

Our first cycle trying - Aug 22

2nd cycle - Sept 28

3rd cycle - Oct 25
