I have a 5 year old daughter from a previous relationship and my partner and I are currently trying for a baby. He has no biological children of his own. We are both in our twenties and I have suffered irregular periods for almost 2 and a half years. I have had a hormone and blood test which came back normal, but an ultrasound showed 3 cysts on my left ovary which the doctor says is NOT the cause of this so that is still undetermined. My cycles vary from 24 - 53 days although commonly around days 26 -28. My partner just recently had a SA which showed low sperm count and motility.

13th May 2008 - My partners SA re-test came back showing the same result which we were kind of expecting after the doctor told us the results arent likely to change much. My doctor is now going to start my day 21 progesterone now to see if I am even ovulating. Just waiting for my partners doctors notes to be sent to my doctors so he can assess the situation with us before sending us for more testing

17th August 2008 - My progesterone test came back as normal so I am ovulating so although I have irregular periods, it seems our inability to conceive is solely down to low sperm count. We have since been referred to a urologist who we are due to see again in about 3 weeks to discuss the results of a 3rd SA and an ultrasound. My partner has had a physical examination to check for a vasciole and for any problems with the testes and prostate which seem to be fine
