Thanks so much HopeN. I just started my period today (3-2-08) and will start the clomid on Thursday on days 5-9. So I'm praying it will work the first go round. I will definately use the OPK's. When do you think I should start those? When I first take the clomid, or after I finish the clomid? Some people say you could ovulate while still taking the clomid...so I wasn't sure when to use the OPK. Thanks for your helpful hints! I hope I have luck getting preggo :)

Hey akt, start the OPKs the day u finish Clomid and tets until u get a + because u never know when u are gonna ovulate. Also start BDng starting CD 9 every other day until after ovulation and then day of + OPK, next and next.

Thats true that some say u ovulate even on clomid, those are women who have cycles that are lesser than 23 days. But generally u ovulate within 10 days after finishing the last pill of Clomid.

If u feel buying OPKs from retail stores r expensive, then try getting them off ebay. A lot of women from the site get it from there.

Okay, so just an update...AF came after 3 days of finishing up my Provera. So I was happy about that. Now I will be starting Clomid this Thursday, March 6. I'm definately excited. I ordered some preseed as well. I hope I am able to conceive on this first round of clomid. We've been trying for 10 months which seems like forever. I know some of you ladies have been ttc longer than that and I can definately see where you are coming from. Every month you don't get pregnant just seems like forever until you have to wait for the next month. Anyone have any luck conceiving on clomid the first time?? Thank you all!

Just wanted to let you know I had a similar situation to yours. Was on birth control for 11 years (I'm 27) and went off in November of 2006. Got my period in December all on my own and then never got it again. After not having a period and not ovulating on clomid (dont worry you will ovulate, I just have stubborn eggs!) I went to see a specialist and was diagnosed with pcos in August of 2007. I ended up taking Gonal F injectables and got pregnant our 2nd round! Hi AKT, Welcome to the site. I have been taking clomid since october last year. I have only ovulated once with it in Jan and that was when I was away from DH :-( Typical. So now im on 200mg of Clomid. I am hoping to Ovulate by cd 16 as I am overseas for about three week and no dh. I feel that 2008 is going to be a good baby year. That's great that you will have a 60-70% chance of conceiving with your tubal reversal. It's definately possible and I wish you the best of luck. AKT.. I am tring naturally right now. I am taking FertilityAid vitamins that can optimize ur chances that I got off of earlypregnancytest.com but besides that I am not taking anything. If I am not preggo in a month or two then I will go to my OB/GYN and talk to her about the HSG shot. I am praying for u and hope u get ur BFP this month!

Hey Ladies, just an update on me... I am currently on CD14, I will be taking another OPK today (I'm currently at work, working night shift). So I will get off at 8am and go home and take a test. So far all negatives for me...which is depressing, but hopefully I will ovulate in the next few days. I'm praying! Me and DH have been BD'ing every other day...so I'm trying to cover all my bases...

Have any of you ever had a negative OPK but found out later you ovulated? Just curious.

Katie, yes when I took my OPK yesterday, the control line was of course dark, and the test line did show up, but it was lighter than the control line. So I figured that was a negative. I thought if it was positive both lines would be about the same color. Is that not right? I'm not sure. I'm so confused. I am just so excited and praying to get a positve OPK that I may be getting my hopes up. My BH and I are still BDing on the right days, so hopefully I won't miss a chance if I do ovulate.

Any suggestions or advice is greatly appreciated.

No it sounds like ur doing everything right. If u can see the test line and its getting darker then ur getting close.. Just keep testing so u don't miss it. R U testing at the sametime everyday? Hi Katie, yes, I test about the same time every day. I test in the morning when I get off work right before I go to sleep. (I work night shift). I try to make sure I don't drink anything a few hours before I test. I'm still hoping for my positive OPK. Just gotta keep in good spirits and keep praying! Thanks for your support!

I was just curious, what does it feel like when you are ovulating? Does anyone know? Since I've never ovulated, that I know of, I'm not sure what is happening. I do feel like a sensation of some sort down near my ovaries (sometimes on one side, sometimes on the other). I started feeling it about two or three days after I finished up my last clomid pill. What I'm feeling doesn't hurt, but just like a tingling or maybe a slight cramping here and there, but nothing that is concerning. I just hope this is not all in my head because I am trying to conceive and hoping to ovulate.

Ovulating means that ur egg is getting ready to release within 12 to 36 hours from th ovary. When u get ur + OPK u should have sex for the next 3 nights so u can make sure that the spermies are there waiting on the egg. It is best to have the spermies there waiting on the egg. Hope this helps.

I think I dipped it in my urine wrong (sideways) and it came across with a big wavy smudge horizonally...so I screwed that one up. And now I'm out! Hey Ladies, just an update on me. I will be going for my 21 day progesterone lab draw on Monday, March 24. It will actually be CD23 for me on that day. They don't do the draw on Saturdays (which is CD21 for me). So the doc just said do it that monday. I will let you all know what my numbers are....I hope I have ovulated! Or will at least by then!!

Hey ladies, I have a question. I am curently on CD20 about to be CD21. Yesterday morning I had a discharge that was kind of milky and thin, and I could actually feel it a little when it came out. I actually went to the bathroom b/c I thought I was getting my AF super early, but it was just CM. I don't know if that means anything or what? Is this a good sign? Is what I am describing sounding like possible ovulation?

I thought maybe it was leftover preseed mixed with my DH spermies since we BD approximately 24 hrs from this morning. So we are due to BD tomorrow. But I would have thought any leftovers would have dripped out by now (sorry if TMI) Just trying to be descriptive so maybe ya'll could help me.

So it was kinda milky and thin, only stretched a little between my fingers then it let go...so I'm not sure.

Okay, so I went and got my progesterone level done today (3/24/08) and it was 0.6. I'm so upset. I can't believe that it's soo low. I'm on CD23 and I'm hoping and praying that maybe I am just a late ovulater and will ovulate in the next couple of days. Has that ever happened to any of you??

i also had a very low level this month. Mine was .2 or something and that was on day 24 or 25 of my cycle. I always ovulate so this was a crushing phone call.

I chose to take pills to enduce my period to move on instead of waiting to ovulate but if you talk to Jolene from this site you may not choose that. She ovulated on day 30 and is pregnant now.

Thanks Chelsharmony! I'm not sure what to do as I'm not sure when I ovulate ever. I was on BC pills for years and went off of them last summer and have been ttc since. I will definately talk to Jolene.

hi ladies- when i had my levels checked they too were low. i was disapointed, but that is when i decided to go to a fertility specialist, and since then i have been so much more happier and excited about what goes on next. are you all seeing an re yet?

Hi Jen! No, I haven't seen a RE yet. My OB doc said that if the first few rounds of clomid don't work, then that would be the next step. He and I were both hoping the clomid would get me ovulating. This month was definately a dissapointment for me as my progesterone was only 0.6 on CD23. So I know thats really low and no chance that I ovulated. So right now I am waiting for AF so I can start taking 100mg clomid this time.

I pray everyday that this next time will be different. I just want to ovulate!! We BD at all the right times, and I'm just not sure if there is something more I should be doing.

If any of you ladies have any advice, I'd love to hear from you. Is 100mg of clomid so much better? I just don't know...

Hey Shawnee, here's what I updated in my new post...

Well, I went for my progesterone level this morning 4/30/08 and it came back this afternoon at 0.4. This was my 2nd round of clomid. No ovulation on first round @ 50mg and no ovulation on 2nd round @100mg. Is it possible that I my just ovulate after my 21 day progesterone level? I am so confused and so sad.

I think this time, I am going to just wait and wait and see if AF arrives on her own or that I will just O late and get pregnant. I'm on CD21 now, still neg OPK's. They will start to get dark and darker, but never a dark dark postive. Then the next day it will be lighter. I've never had an abnormal pap smear, I've always been healthy, and then boom...I go of BCP's and don't get a period and ttc and find out my doctor thinks I have PCOS (just by my clinical symptoms of no period and no pregnancy).

This is really exhausting and I don't know how we do it. This has been the longest 10 1/2 months ttc and all negatives...

Anyone know if it's possible to Ovulate on clomid later than the 21 days?? Like maybe I still have a chance... Stress is not an issue, I just got back from vacation, life has been great, except for the not being able to conceive.

Thank you all for listening to my updated journey. I'm just really sad and hope I am able to have kids... If anyone has any extra babydust, I'd love to have some. Maybe that will bring me good luck.

Just wanted to update you on me. Well, the 2nd round of clomid didn't work either, no ovulation both rounds. So my doctor is adding Metformin this round and I'll go to pick it up tomorrow. So I will continue 100mg of clomid for my 3rd round and add the Metformin. Anyone with any luck or know of anyone with luck with adding the Metformin??

akt, I found bbt charting to be stressful as well. Dh couldn't be happier that I've stopped because our particular thermometer beeped every two seconds until it was done at which point it beeped about 50 times and when he's still trying to sleep that's not so much fun.

Hi CC, yeah, the temp thing just wasn't for me, and I totally agree with you about the beeping thing. Mine did that too and I just got tired of it and all the ups and downs with the temps...just too much to keep track of.

Yes, I totally agree Ferrell! I haven't ovulated since who knows when. I went of BCP's last summer and never got a period. Soo, just to ovulate this month will make me happy! But if I did get preggers, then I think I would just fall to the floor and start crying, I would be so incredibly blessed and thankful. I will go for a progesterone check next week to see if I really ovulated.

Ladies, just wanted to let you all know that I go for my progesterone level check on May 20th at 0745 in the morning. So I should definately get my results back that day. My doctor wanted me to wait unti 7-10 dpo and that day I will be 10dpo. If the results are high, (praying they are) then I may take a HPT that night just to see....b/c I will be sooo excited just to see a result greater than 0.4 or 0.6!

I'm still taking the metformin and will continue to do so until I get pregnant and then up thru 12 wks of pregnancy....praying that will be sooon!!!

Please keep me in your prayers ladies! You all are so wonderful and I couldn't keep going without you!

hey ladies, Question about metformin side effects. I'm having these weird strong flutters in my chest(near my heart) and stomach all day today. I have never had this feeling before! The only thing I'm doing different is the metformin and I started a prescription prenatal instead of the women's one a day prenatal.... Anyone have any advice? Kinda freaky

Hey Shawnee, I'm not too sure what you may be feeling around your heart, I haven't felt that. But the flutter thing I do feel in my uterine area, not so much my stomach, also feeling a little crampy on and off, but that's it. I hope it subsides for you and maybe it's just one of the side effects. Give it a few more days to work in your system, but if you have any trouble breathing or shortness of breath, then definately quit taking them and call your doc! Also make sure you take your vitamin and Metformin with food. That will help!

Hey Shawnee, well that's good you found some reassurance on the google site. I think it may just be anxiety or stress knowing that in 2-3 days you may find out you are pregnant! I know that is nerve racking and you want to know NOW! I sure would. But try to take it easy and relax, if you can and keep your mind on other things. It's going to happen!!! You just wait, you will get your BFP this time!!! I feel it!!

As for me, I get my progesterone level checked next Tuesday, which will be 10dpo and if they are high, I may be too excited to wait, I will probably try to test once that day...

hey shawnee, both times i was pregnant i had the same thing. it feels like your heart is racing and gonna beat out of your chest. my doc told me that it was bc your body is pumping more blood through your body for the baby. i had it really bad during my 1st pregnancy and thats how i knew i was pregnant the 2nd time.

stay away AF!!!!!!!!!!

a few days before i found out i was pregnant. i also had lots of cm..i was running to the bathroom bc i thought i had started my period. it sometimes would feel like a gush. also, i was out of breath a lot. even just trying to hold a conversation i would have to take a couple deep breaths to finish the sentence...weirdest things! lol

Kris, when did u find out u were pregnant? how many weeks pregnant were u? and the cm thing is weird too, but it's creamy like after ovulation (sorry tmi) I promosed myself I would not test again unless af was late.... now I'm bitting my nails... LOL

Thanks Shawnee, yeah, I don't really know what's happening, b/c like you said those results were clearly positive, especially my digital one! I mean, how do you miss a smiley face!!!

I thought it was too early for implantation bleeding, but one can always pray. But if this spotting is still here tomorrow, it's probly AF.

So I guess it would be pointless to do another progesterone check, right? I'm so confused right now!

On a happier note....those signs you are having are sounding promising!!! Kris made a good point about your heart needing more blood flow to pump for the little one! So I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you!!!

it kinda of hard to say what cycle i was on because i was taking lupron shots and i hadnt had a period in 3 mths. but the us and bw showed that i was around 5 weeks pregnant. and all these symptoms were pretty much immediately. i know its so hard to wait but at the same time you would rather see af than see a negative. good luck....i hope you get a bfp whenever you do decide to test!

Sorry ladies havent been on in awhile! I started having flutters and shortness of breath when I was about 10dpo or so. It has been sooo long since my pregnancy its hard to remember. But when you get the symptoms, which you will, you won't forget them! Best wishes- and stay away AF! lol

Hey Ladies, sorry I haven't been on in about a week. I just got back from throwing my sister a baby shower and to tell you the truth, I'm so glad it's over. Is that horrible of me or what? She just seems so ungrateful and I got tired of hearing her say how it wasn't planned but she is so happy and she was for sure I would be preggo first. Anyways...I'm just sick of it!

Okay..sorry for the little vent session...

My update, I go tomorrow (JUNE 6) for my progesterone level. It's actually CD23 for me now. I was out of town. Hopefully a few days won't make a difference. I did however, I think, I got a +OPK on Cd16, but took a digital and it was negative. But the midstream OPK I took was clearly dark on both sides. So we BD'ed anyways even though the digital was negative. So I will find out tomorrow by my progesterone level if I ovulated.

Hi Shawnee, I got my progesterone lab draw done today, so hopefully I will know my results later. It's Friday, so I may not know until Monday. Hopefully they will be ready today. Did you see that Beetle got her BFP??!!!! I told her with those progesterone levels, she's got to be preggo!

I'm sorry that you are having trouble with your insurance paying for your fertility treatments. I'm praying for you and hope that they will fix it and write the bill so something is covered! Maybe this will be your month!!! Let's hope so for both of us! We need this!!!!!

Oh- and my progesterone level today came back, 0.4. I'm so devistated. I just don't know what is wrong with me.

I know it's only been 3 rounds of clomid. But it's been almost a year of TTC and I'm just so burnt out. I guess I will hopefully just wait for AF, hopefully she won't show and I still have a chance, but I guess it's unlikely. Do you think I should be referred to a fertility specialist? I guess I'm just being impatient, but my gosh...it's been so long and no good outcome...I just don't want to do 6 cycles of clomid...and then go to a specialist and them tell me I have to wait b/c I used up my 6 chances. I don't know...I'm so upset :(

I'm still hoping you get your high numbers on Monday!!! Please let me know how it goes!!

Hey akt!! I'm so sorry about ur numbers(((hugs))) ask ur Dr about Femara instead of the clomid. And if he/she will not give it to u then I would most definitely seek and RE. If he will then try that. I see and OB/GYN there is a team of them and I think they are great! I was seeing an RE 1st and she wouldn't even put me on Metformin!! So I think it all depends on the Dr ur seeing, but definitely ask about the Femara. GL and I'm so sorry again abt prog, Hang in there...ur in my prayers and thoughts.

Oh, I live in PA. How old are u?

I'm only 24, TTC since last summer, I was 23 then. I actually just emailed my OB doctor to see what he thinks and to see if I just need to try another month of this combo or what. I just don't want to run out of chances. I'm so depressed about it all. I mean, why do we have so much trouble with this. It's just not fair! All the people who do everything right have a hard time getting pregnant and then there are those who get preggo by accident and could care less. I don't get it. I know I'm young, but I wanted to have one child by the time I was 25 and two by age 30. Everyone around me keeps asking me "when are you going to have a baby"? And I just keep telling them we need more time. Only a few people know we have been TTC and it's just so stressful when everyone keeps asking me about it. I feel like it's all my fault (which it is, because I'm not ovulating), but I am doing everything right. Taking vitamins, exercising, trying to eat healthier. I just can't lose the weight. I'm 5'9 and 230 lbs. My sister is 5'7 and was 220 when she conceived by accident on the first time!! She is currently 33 weeks and it's been hard for me.

Okay, sorry for the venting session. It's just me being upset and I'm sure things will be better in a few days when I can hopefully decide what the next plan is. I just think I need more than a progesterone check every month. I would like to get an ultrasound or something to see if my ovaries are even working right.

Hi AKT, Please dont be sad. How much clomid are you on. You just need to keep increasing it until you ovulate. When your ovulating then it will happen. I was a big naughty and increase my dose without telling my dr. I was a bit embarressed for one cycle as I buggered up my dose and I took 5 a day instead of four and I still didnt ovulated so this one I took 6 a day and it worked but i did ovulate the month before so I think its timing as well, Also not sure if this has helped but my new dr told me its better to take clomid from CD1 as I was taking it cd2. Not sure why but it worked also the other thing i did was take evening primrose oil i took four a day and it made a huge difference to my CM.

Thanks Beetle! Yeah, I'm on 100mg clomid and 1500mg Metformin, so maybe he will up my dose to 150mg. I hope he does. I took 100mg x2 months and nothing. This will be my 4th round, so I'm praying he will up my dose. And I think I'll do like you said, take it sooner...the sooner you take it, the sooner you ovulate, right??

And how long do you take the the evening primrose oil for?? I thought I heard to take it up to when you ovulate, but I can't seem to find out when I ovulate. So I didn't want to do anything contradictory to screw up my chances. Any advice?

Hey Akt I just finished catching up on all your comments. I am so sorry you didnt get your numbers. But honestly I would just tell him to keep increasing your clomid till it works. I mean doing the same dose most likely isnt going to work. I mean I did the clomid 100 last month w/out the metformin, and it didnt work, so when I went back he increased me to 150 plus adding in the 1500 metformin. So as you see he jumped my dose of clomid and a higher dose than i took in the past of metformin. I have yet to try it just because we are going on a cruise in august, so I wanted to be able to enjoy myself and then the second we get back we will try again. I am excited and anxious. If your doctor isnt wanting to do what you ask, then maybe you should go to an infertility specialist. Thats what I am doing. My obgyn just gave me clomid in the day but didnt watch me closely, so that showed me he could give a shit, sorry, ha! But my new doc is amazing. I think docs that specialize in this field are more caring because they know all the pain and emotions we go through to get pregnant. So that may be an option for you. Keep that head up. I am going to be 29 years old in August, and I have yet to have my first, so be thankful you are alot younger. I always wanted to have 2 before I was 30 as well, but it doesnt look l ike that will happen unless well I have twins, ha!! Which may be a possibiltiy anyway with my family. ha! Ive got family twins + higher dose of clomid = mulitples haha!Anyway we will all get there we just have to keep truckin along and trying new things till it happens. Keep us posted ok.

Thanks Ferrell! You are awesome! I actually did email my doctor and he emailed me back and said that he would like to increase my dose to 150mg of clomid for the 4th cycle. So I will be on the 150mg of clomid and continuing the 1500mg of Metformin a day. I just have to keep telling myself that IT WILL HAPPEN. I'm doing everything I can possibly do, except lose weight b/c that just seems to be too difficult!! I work out, feel better, but my weight fluctuates from 228-233 and no more, no less....so...I can't worry about that. I'm staying positive about this next round being increased to 150mg and praying it works.

That's great that you will get to take some relaxing time and go on a cruise! I bet that will be fun!! Who knows, maybe during your off time, you will end up preggo! With TWINS!! Since you mentioned they run in your family. I hope I have twins, but I would be grateful with what the good Lord gives me!

Well I told my husband tonight that I wanted to wait till after the cruise and he said OH NO YOU DONT....he wants to go ahead still, I dont know what Im going to do. He feels I always say Im going to start this and then I find a way to back out of it. I am like you know how bad I want a baby, but I dont want to be miserable on the cruise. Who knows, I will keep you posted on what we do to. Yeh Im with ya on the weight. I weighed in at 228 this morning, and am the same back and forth between 224-235 crazy!! Anyway girl, good luck!
