TTC for over a year, regular periods, tried ovulation prediction kits, no luck.. i need help.

Good afternoon doctor,

I am 23 years old and my husband is 24. I was on cyclen birth control for 6 years and after I stopped (sept07) I only had a couple periods over 6months. I saw my doctor and had bloodwork and ultrasounds which came back normal. For the past 5-6months I have been regularly having a period (lasts 7-8days) every 30-33 days.

I have been charting my BBT and I purchased a 50 dollar OPK, testing every other day during the 10 days of my most likely fertile time and the line wasnt as dark as the control but it seemed to be very close at the end. My husband and I tried every other day starting from the day i finished my cycle until after my CM became "Dry". Still no luck.

I have an appointment (that I made last year) to see a specialist in a few months but we are very frustrated and concerned. He does not have a family doctor by mine (who was helping last year with the testing for me) can give a referral for his sperm count to be tested so I will try to get an appointment soon.

We are heartbroken to think we may be infertile at such a young age without any weight or medical problems. Do you have any suggestions that we could try while playing the waiting game for appointments? We have been trying to be patient for over a year and it's getting harder every time we see the negative pregnancy test.

Thanks for your time,

Megan

ttc for almost a year, no insurance.... DEAD END?!

Me & my fiance have been ttc for almost a year now and im having no luck! my periods are regular, i currently have no insurance because i am self employed and can not afford it. My aunt took fertility drugs(im not sure which one) and became pregnant within 2 months. i dont know what steps i should take next and kinda feel like im at a dead-end with no insurance! If anyone could PLEASE give me some advise i would greatly appreciate it! (and the names of some insurance companies that would cover fertility drugs if needed... the insurance i would just want to cover me) Also would i be able to go to my family doctor for help with my problem even tho i know he does not specialize in this?

What would be the fertility treatment for a person with one tube?

Iam 26. And my periods are pretty regular. Between 25 and 29 days. TTC for a year. Husband's semen analysis came out great. All my hormone levels are good too. But my HSG shows only one tube open and the other is closed at distal end. Iam visiting a RE this month. Iam confused about what my treatment would be ? Would I be be prescribed Clomid ? with IUI ? My OB/GYN is like, we have to try longer. But I don't see it working. . I need help. Would clomid work with one tube ? What could have caused one of my tubes to be closed ?

My TTC Journey

DH and I have been TTC for a year. Since my first M/C two years ago, my cycles have been very long about 38 days. I didn't think there was anything wrong with that, but later learned that for timing purposes, it is a real headache when you're trying to figure out ovulation/LH surges with BDing. We were wasting so much good sperm because we were BDing on the wrong days! LOL.

We started aggressively trying in March and we both went through the necessary tests (e.g. HSG, blood work, S/A). Everything came back normal, so my OB put me on provera and clomid at 50 mg but nothing happened. My OB saw my desperation to get pregnant, and was kind enough to let me go. She told me to see an RE. Went to the RE, found out that 50 was too low for me and so he started me on 100. That didn't work either. So he told me about this drug that is used to treat breast cancer but studies had shown that it is very effective for infertility too. So, I went on Femera a.k.a latrozole. I did my first IUI and it failed, however the next month I had a shorter more normal cycle and my progest. levels were great.

I took a month off to "regroup" and now I'm ready for my secound IUI. My AF is due sometime around the 24th, so I'll be on meds. again and crossing my fingers for the second try.

I've also joined a women's infertility support group in my area and have really felt good about it. I've been suffering from depression since failing to get pregnant. This web site and the support group is a godsend, as it helps to know there are people, complete strangers who are so kind, caring and understanding. I believe only other women who are going through this can understand the depths of our sadness and feelings of blame, shame, bewilderment. I have had so many people who aren't intentionly trying to be insensitive say the darndest things to me because they just don't get it, like "why don't you just adopt" (not that I don't think adoption is a great alternative, but I really want to have the feeling of being pregnant and giving birth.) Even poor DH doesn't truly understand the disappointment that I go through after AF shows up every month.

I know it will happen for me at some point and I'm glad to share my TTC journey with others who know and understand.

Trying to become a mother.

Hi, I have been married to my wonderful husband for 3 years. In about February of 2007 we decided that we would like to start a family very soon, but being naive we decided that we would wait to start trying for a couple more months so that the baby would have a "good" birthday. In Canada anywhere between the middle of April until the end of September is considered a "good" birthday. So in June 2007 we started trying for our little miracle. We learned very quickly that this was not going to be as easy as we thought. We have now been trying for our little one for 13 months, which I know is not long compared to some of the other ones with aching arms.

I have irregular cycles which makes things all that much more frustrating. My cycles will range anywhere from 30 - 45 days (I was devastated with the 45 day one), and once I have my monthly it will last for about 7 days (with spotting on either side!!). I live in a small town so the medical care available is limited and the doctors here do not know a lot about fertility. You need a referral most of the time in Alberta to get in with a specialist, sometimes even to see an obgyn and then it is between 1.5 - 6 hour drive to get to them.

I am currently on CD14 and just finished a round of clomid 50mg on days 7-11. My doctor thought that you couldn’t take clomid if you were still bleeding so he started me late... that is what I mean by limited medical care. So I guess I am in another 2 week wait, but I try not to think about it too much. I do think however that the clomid helped me to ovulate earlier, because I think I ovulated yesterday and I usually don't until CD19-20.

Sometimes my heart and my arms ache so bad I don't know what to do. It's like you cry so hard it is an out of body experience, like this person isn't even you.

My sister-in-law just had her little miracle by emerge. c-section last night. So I'm super happy for them (ttc 1.5 years, 1 miscarriage) but I still feel a little sorry for myself. They also had the first girl in 3 generations which made my husband really sad because we were hoping to be the ones to break the record. I guess we are selfish. :)

Trying to conceive

My husband and I have been trying to conceive for a year now. My doctor has found no reason that either of us shouldn't be able to conceive. I'm 19 and my husband is 25 so we are young. Is there anything we can do naturally to help us conceive?

Ovulation and periods

My question is, if i get a regular menstural cycle, does that mean that I am ovulation every month. I have regular periods, of 31 days, Would that mean I would ovulate on the 15th or 16th cycle day not the 14th ?
