Target heart rate during 2WW?

Dr. Q,

what is the max THR you should aim for during your 2WW? I have started exercising regulary (cardio 6 days per week and strength training 2-3 days per week) to drop some weight but I do not want to over do it and harm the egg or implantation.

I have heard 140 THR during exercise is the max but everybody is different. I am 36, 30 lbs overweight, and in good health otherwise. I am on Femara with trigger right now. I dont want to stop exercising..so where should I keep my heart rate?

Is it safe to take Sudafed (regular, NOT PE) during 2WW?

I just wondered if it interferes with implantation or anything. I have not been taking it but I have bad allergies sometimes and it helps me to take it. I would like to take it but scared it will interfere. I know it is safe to take during pegnancy...but sometimes it makes me feel nervous and just wondered if this would not be good for implantation. Thanks.

what exercise is okay during ovulation and 2WW?

I sort of asked this in another question but I wanted to hear it from a doctor. I had two different nurses tell me two different things. My current program is this: one hour walking per day with dog, 30 minutes of Elliptical trainer, and 20 minutes of light weight lifting.

I love to exercise and am afraid I will gain weight if I have to stop for two weeks per month. One nurse at my RE's office told me that ellptical trainer was okay (as long as my heart rate does not go above 120) and one told me that it was not okay because it could make my egg flip???

I thought I might keep up the walking..eliminate the weight lifting (except for arms but NO abs), and do my elliptical trainer for 30 minutes but VERY lightly (so I will not use arm motions) so that my heart rate will not go over 120.

Is this okay or too much?

My other idea was 2 hours of walking with my dogs per day? (I dont walk too fast or anything).

Please let me know. I could not see my doctor when I went in and would really like and RE's prospective..not a nurse.

2 WW after IUI

Hi, I'm new to this site. I have been reading it for a couple of days but decided to post today. Everyone out there is so supportive and the info is very helpful.

I am a 38 yr old mother of one soon-to-be 3 yr old. After an ectopic pregnancy when I was 19, I was left with one good fallopian tube. My husband and I were married in 2002 and started trying to conceive a yr later. After trying for a yr on our own to conceive, we sought the help of a fertility specialist. After several tests and months on Clomid, it was determined I wasn't a good responder to the drug. I would only have 1-2 follicles and they would always be in my ovary on the side with the bad fallopian tube. So my Dr. recommended injectibles. I was hesitant so I asked if we could do one month of "natural" IUI with just a trigger shot. It turned out I had one good follicle on the side with the good fallopian tube. Believe or not it worked and I gave birth to my son in Sept. of 2005.

Since then, my husband and I haven't used any birth control but we haven't been trying. A couple of month ago we started "officially" trying on our own. NO LUCK. So back to our fertility Dr. Due to my age she immediately wanted to put me on injectibles but I told her I was getting ready to ovulate. So she did an U/S and low and behold there were 2 follicles on my good side!! She said come back tomorrow for another U/S and if they are the proper size we will give you the trigger shot and you can come in the next morning for IUI. This was August 6th and I had IUI on August 8th.

The 2 week wait has been killing me. I am now 13 DPO and took a HPT and it was totally NEGATIVE.

My question is has anyone out there ever had a NEG HPT on 13DPO and still been pregnant? Is there any hope for me that I am pregnant? Last time with my son, I had a positive test on 13DPO. Also, I'm asking because I am on the dreaded progestorone suppositories and if I'm not pregnant, I would LOVE to be able to stop using them.

Mentally, I am preparing to believe it didn't work. If I'm not pregnant this time, I am not messing around and will go with the injectibles.
