The short version of my story!

I am 26, DH is 27. We were ttc #1 for over a year when I was diagnosed with PCOS. After 7 cycles of Clomid I finally ovulated for the first time and conceived my daughter. She turned 3 in December, and we have now been ttc #2 for a year and a half. I knew it was going to take some time so I didn't want to wait to long. I go to Yale Fertility in New Haven, CT and I feel very luck to be a patient there. It is difficult because I have to drive an hour there and be there by 8am, but I know it will pay off in the end. Since ttc #2 I have done 3 cycles of just clomid with no luck. I did a cycle with Letrozol and Clomid, then just Letrozol, all with not even one follicle. I am so sick of hearing "Many less than 10". They finally switched me over to Gonal-F. I did 4 cycles of Gonal-F with "scheduled intercourse". Three of those cycles I ovulated, but they all ended in BFN. I am now starting IUI, and am looking for people to talk to through all of this. I am getting to the point where it's hard to get my hopes up. Even if your not going through the exact same thing as me, I'm here to talk to anyone if they need it. I find if I am talking to other people and making them feel better it in turn makes me feel better.

*PCOS is not an end all sentence. I was told I could not lose weight, that "diet and exercise doesn't help" and told so many things. THIS IS NOT TRUE!!! I started eating VERY healthy, almost crazy healthy but once you get into the swing of things it's not that difficult. I started going to the gym a few times a week and I have currently lost 26 pounds! I know weight is a big deal for a lot of PCOS patients, but sometimes you need to have someone have faith in you for you to have faith in yourself. I found that someone and I would love to be the person to return that and help someone else, or many more people. We can beat PCOS, no matter what "everyone" says.

How to lose a few more pound before getting pregnant?? ANY TIPS??

Okay, so I am actually a pretty healthy girl..that being said, I DO have high blood pressure and fibromyalgia so it does make certain things a little more difficult to do. I am 26 years old and am currently working with 3 different doctors in trying to get me off as much medication as possible before we conceive.

ANYWAYS I am short...like 5 feet tall and weigh 130 pounds. I have NEVER weighed that much before but for some reason I can't get any weight off. I do RARELY snack on high fat foods, I don't drink soda, I avoid salt intake whenever possible, I chase after 6 kids all day (not all of them are mine...lol) and I eat VERY healthy. WHY CAN'T I GET THESE LAST FEW POUNDS OFF?!?!?!

I weighed 122 before I got pregnant with my son. I lost ALL my baby weight and when my health got really bad for a few weeks about 4 months ago I gained weight and now cannot lose it. I have tried EVERYTHING! HELP!!!!

Any tips or advise? THANKS EVERYONE! :)

Specially the stomach, abdomen etc?

I have noticed a considerable amount of weight gain around my abdomen lately, and am worried whats happening? My diet has been the same and I still have the same lifestyle...I also am bleeding every month (through provera though)....wonder whats wrong?

Has anybody else ever experience this?

Does weight affect effectiveness of Follistim?

I am 5'8" and weigh 240 pounds. My RE has never mentioned my weight (to my surprise). I just finished my first round of Follistim (225 for 5 days and 300 for 6 days) Yesterday I had 3 follicles on the left (all around 10mm) and one on the right (around 13mm). The cycle ended up being cancelled because my estrogen just stayed around 100 (+ or - a bit) and did not change over the almost two week period. I started Provera last night to bring on my period and my RE is having me go to intramuscular injections for my next cycle because he says that with the subcutaneous injections the Follistim just isn't getting to where it needs to be and that the intramuscular will allow me to absorb more that way. My questions are regarding my weight and the intramuscular injections. I was on high doses of the Follistim, does my weight have anything to do with not absorbing the medication? Should I lose weight before trying again? Also, should I expect to see a difference doing the the intramuscular injections versus the subcutaneous? Is there some other medication that can be taken with Follistim to 'boost' the effects? If Follistim does not work are there any other alternatives or is that pretty much it? A lot of questions, I know, but I am really needing to know. Thanks!

PCOS wanting to go on a Diet and I need some HELP...

I am looking to find something to help me once in for all. I am done with all this crap. Let me tell you about myself first. I was diagnosed with PCOS back in 2005. My husband and I have basically been TTC since then on and off, not religiously or anything but here and there. Ive done all doses of clomid all the way up to 150mg, none helped me ovulate. I did the metformin with the clomid, I did just the metformin alone. Nothing!! I dont get my periods regularly, havent really since the day I had my first one. I normally will have to take provera in order to start a new cycle. When the 150mg didnt work, I just got fed up and good or not, I said screw it. Im not going to do any medicines. So I quit the clomid, I quit the metformin, I quit provera. So November 15 was my last period (provera induced) well about 2 weeks ago, I started spotting. It was just like a light brownish color, and only showed when I wiped. I remember I did this before and the doc said it was breakthrough bleeding, and he had me go on the provera to stop the breakthrough and to start a real true bleed. So I remembered that, and just said ok well I will start the provera. Cause I did that for about 4 days, and it wasn't really stopping on its own. So I started the provera and like 2 days after my last pill, I started spotting again. This time it was a little red, but then it stopped again. I thought ok what in the world. Cause normally I take my 10 days worth of pills and then I get my period about 5-10 days after my last pill. So I thought ok a. its too early to be doing any kind of bleed, and b. it didnt last. So I decided to take a pg test just to see. Well to my amazement I saw a PREGNANT. Yep a digital test that said PREGNANT!! I was flipping out. Here I am thinking that I can't get pg, Ive done all the clomid out there, and the doc said injections will be my next step. So Im flipping. Well I tried to not get my hopes up. My dh told me to not get too excited till I took another test. Well I took another one the very next morning. NOT PREGNANT appeared. Oh gosh I was just so sad. I thought, what a cruel joke this is. All these years, and all these pg tests Ive taken to finally see a POSITIVE to then turn into a NEGATIVE. Oh girls I was just so upset. Its like you just pulled my heart out of my chest and stomped on it.

Even still I had a little itty bitty amount of hope left in me, so I went to the dr. I just wanted them to confirm that I was or wasnt'. So either a. it was a false psoitive (which everyone is saying since its a digital test and it said PREGNANT that I probably was or either B. I had a chemical pregnancy. UGH!!

Again remaining positive, on the flip side of that. If I truly was pg, then that gives me hope that I can at least get pg (so I did ovulate) all these years not. So to my point of this long story. I had started exercising about 2 months ago. Im a big girl I am about 5'7 and weigh 230lbs. Honestly I dont want to be this big and get pg because it taking me so long and so hard, I dont want my weight to affect my pregnancy. I am going to be 30 my bday and Ive been trying to find a diet that I could do and to continue my exercise regimin. Ive been slack the past 3 weeks, but plan on getting it back together tomorrow or monday. i really would like to at least get to 180 and I really think that maybe my body will start acting like its supposed to. my goal is 140lbs but its like on one hand, lets get me pregnant and then i can lose after the baby is here, but then they say if you go ahead and get to a good pre pregnancy weight that it will be easier to get off afterwards.

The thing about dieting is I LOvE FOOD. I love all the bad stuff. The chips, the cookies, the JUNK. FRIED, Fast food. Diet Dr pepper. I mean all the bad stuff. I mean do I really need to cut out all of that stuff if I really want to lose weight. Us women with PCOS, we crave the junk like that and I am trying to get in my head that if this really works if this really would get this weight off then it would be worth it. Could someone give me a sample menu. I am such a picky vegetable eater. I tend to like alot of chicken, hamburgers. I mean really the dinner, lunch is not the problem. its the snacks and breakfast cause i hate eggs and for snacks i like the satly snacks. Anyway I am sorry this is so long, but if you can truly help me. I mean truly think you could send me a plan to go by of what to eat, when to eat, what to drink, and what exercise I need to focus on that would mean the world to me. I have been doing ZUMBA at my gym and love it. Try to get some weights in there at least 2wice a week. Im desperate guys. I feel my dream is going to pass me by of being a moom if I dont do something RIGHT NOW. This is it. I need to do this once in for all. Please help me!! Thank you so much!

£Part 2 of Angelfish's 2009 New Year's Resolution of Losing Weight and Getting My Health £

Hi everyone! I have been on this site for about 2 years now and our ttc journey has been very very hard and long. I have had a total of 4 miscarriages maybe 5 (think I had one in Nov, 2008 but I cannot prove it). Also I have always had a battle with my weight it goes up it goes down mess. I'm going to be very honet I'm just plain lazy and love to eat. I'm not a mood eater I'm just a junk and fast food person I love it. lol. Admitting it the first step correct!!!I have tried and tried to overcome this issue.

Well the late part of the Summer of 2008 I was doing great. My wonderful dh was recovering from surgery to fix some issues that was causing us some major ttc issues and this issue was messing with his general health. However his dr said that it may or may not "fix" things so my wonderful dh wanted to get these issues sorted just for his general health and to lower his risk of future cancer risk. His surgery went well. Thanks for the support and the prayers with that. http://www.fertilityties.com/post/show/sending-angelfish-some-hugs-and-prayers

http://www.fertilityties.com/post/show/our-journey-of-ttc-has-ended-thank-all-you-for-everything

So early August, 2008 I was working out and my knee popped and I went down the ground. Well I messed up my knee and part of my low calf (broke a bone) and some bones in my foot. Had some ups and downs with that. So we were dealing with my recovery and my poor dh's recovery. Not easy but it was done.

So I was getting the all clear with my knee and I was sitting in our home and keep on thanking god for everything in my life the good and bad and decided to make 2009 the best year ever and share my battle with the bulge. So I wrote this journey and to be very honest with myself and to show others how it can be done without the gimics out there. So this was my first ever journey I wrote below....

http://www.fertilityties.com/post/show/-angelfish-s-2009-new-year-s-resolution-my-goal-of-being-healthy-losing-weight-looking-and-feeling-better-in-2009

So over the past few weeks the thread is having some issues and some members e-mail asking to start a part 2 so I'm going to do that. Here is part 2 the good, the bad, and the ugly....the honest truth of me gaining my body back and gaining my freedom back from what I did.

Average Weight Range for infants

Hi! I am just wondering if anyone can tell me where I can find average weight ranges for babies/infants. I've been looking online (when I get a chance) and I can't find what I am looking for.

Hayden is almost 6 weeks old and is weighing in at 12 lbs 2 oz!! He's a healthy happy little boy!

I'm not concerned about his weight or anything- as the Dr.said he is doing great, but Iwas just looking for the average weight ranges for all ages of babies :)

What are the signs of intrauterine growth restriction?

Hi, I was just wondering what you look for when someone might have IUGR. I know I would need to talk to my doctor for diagnosis, but just curious if this sounds normal.

I always measured 2 weeks ahead in the begining and the ultrasound measured the baby about a week ahead. After about 24 weeks I started falling behind in cm. I know that there is room for error and it's normal to measure 2 cm in either direction, but when you keep falling behind after being ahead is that normal. I am now 36 weeks and have not gained any weight in 6 weeks and have fallen to measuring 3 cm behind. So at 36 weeks I am measuring 33 cm and have gained 18 lbs with no weight gain since 28 weeks. Does that sound ok. With my other pregnancies I gained 39 lbs. What do you look for with IUGR? I'm not asking for a diagnosis, just curious as to the signs to watch for.

WEIGHT, BMI and Infertility?

So heres the thing- I got pregnant all on my own in 2005 wafter stopping BC Pills 4 weeks prior

At the time I weighed 90-95 lbs- was working out regulary at the gym and felt I was in good shape

I am participating in a weight loss challenge-

She weighed us and calculated our BMI-

I am 4 feet 8 inches and weigh 109 lbs- Which is normal for my height BUT my Body mass index is 30.2! OMG I am basically obese..

Funny thing is I am not "Fat" I guess a littly chubby- I gained 55 lbs with DS and had lost all of it only to gain 10 lbs back, but according to that I am FAT

So now onto my question.. Is this a possible reason why I have not been able to conceive over the past 2 years- How much does Body Fat Index, not weight play a part in TTC ?

I am suppose to undergo a FET in 2 weeks- and got to thinking last night- maybe I should work on getting my BMI down, way down before embarking on the FET- Basically I do not want to "waste" my chances if my body is going to reject it-

Your professional opinions are welcome

Weight loss during pregnancy.

I am currently 19 weeks pregnant and have not gained any weight. I have lost only 3 lbs but I am wondering if there is anything I should be worried about? I am heavier set and I can afford to lose weight, but I never thought I would lose it while being pregnant. During my first pregnancy I gained 35 lbs. Why am I losing weight this time around????

My Plan For 2009

Well its a new year and things will be changing for me. I found out a couple of weeks ago that I am most likely losing my job of 15 yrs. The bank I work for is being merged with a big out of town bank. What I do is headquarted up in Buffalo, NY and I don't think I would be up for the daily commute since I live in Maryland. LOL!

Anyhow, the job market is pratically non-existant around here for what I do. So I will most likely end up taking a job for lesser pay doing other work I am qualified for. With that being said we were told we will have our jobs through April-May. DH and I can't live on his salary with the lovely mtg we now have (he's a detective sergeant)so we are pretty scared about our financial future. Thank goodness we have his wonderful healthcare!

We are putting off the baby-making until I find a job and we know what we are dealing with. Plus I don't want to be interviewing for jobs and dealing with treatments at the same time.

The plan is that I will have the lap my RE wants me to have in March so we can see why my 4 IUI's have failed. Hopefully, I will get my job situation straightened out by mid summer and we can start treatments again.

It all seems so far away but I'm sure time will fly. In the meantime I am working on losing weight. I am already down 7 lbs. Woohoo!!!!!!

Best wishes to everyone in reaching their dreams of motherhood in 2009!

Finally Helping myself on my ttc Journey!!

Ok so im in my early twenties. i have a horrible weight problem. I am finally taking control of this and helping myself. I am on a low-fat diet. I walk 5miles a day and taking 500 mg of metformin.

Also while i am doing this for myself im doing this because me and my fiance are ttc. I want to be able to give him the baby that he wants so bad and that i think we deserve. So im trying to help myself in doing this. I am hoping to have lost at least 40-50 pounds by march 29th.

It sounds so easy but is so hard bc i live in a house where all they do is eat junk food and dont gain a pound!! it disgusts me alot!!

So im just looking for some other ppl who are in the same situation as me to talk to and help each other thru this!!
