First 12 week appt what goes on?

I'm 12 weeks pregnant. I had an ultrasound at 7 weeks and 5 days and then one at 11 weeks at the ER when I had a UTI and then at 12 weeks I went to the ER agian cause some light spotting and I got to hear my babys heart beat.

My question is, my first real prenatal appt is this Wednesday! How long is it usually, and what will they most likely do? Will I get another ultrasound and will I get a pap?

THANKS!

Oh and my babys heartbeat was 174 last time I heard it, is that normal? it sounds high but the doctor said it was healthy...

Need as many prayers as possible

I am asking everyone to say a prayer for my cousin. She is 25 weeks pregnant and her doctor, who has been monitoring her very closely told her that her cervix is preparing for labor and that she will most likely have her baby in the next 2 weeks. Not only is this horrible news to hear but she also had a baby girl at 19 or 20 weeks 2 years ago, April 19th, who passed away after only living for 2 short days. ***RIP Adrina Faith!***

My cousin is terrified as you can imagine. She wasnt really ready to get pregnant again after her first ordeal but even being on BCP she fell pregnant. She has one beautiful, healthy little girl who is almost 3 that she had no problems carrying full term. So we are not sure why she is having these problems now.

Only good things can come from prayer and so she needs many!!

Thanks ladies

Pain in outer thighs 35weeks pregnant?

So I am 35w pregnant, and noticed just the last couple nights, while sleeping I'll wake up in pain in my outer thighs, its a horrible, aching, stabbing, numbness sensation in both thighs... I only sleep on my left or right side but this feeling will wake me up in both legs at the same time, so I don't think its from the pressure of being on a certain side... Its nothing like a charlie horse! This is more of a numbing aching feeling..

Last night was especially bad and was actually having a dream I was getting stabbed in the leg, and woke up and today is very sore and feels numb and aching ever step I take..

Just wondering if this is normal? This is my 4th pregnancy and have never had this before so I have no idea what it is from... Thanks to anyone with some advice:)

no fetal heartbeat at 8 weeks pregnant!

Hi we went to the doctors and took an ultrasound and they said that i was 5 weeks and 3 day pregnant. then two and a half weeks later i recieved another ultrasound by a different place and they said i was 6 to 7 weeks pregnant. I then went to the original place i took an ultrasound and they said that it has not grown much and that they could not see a heartbeat. They scheduled for another appointment in a few days to see if there is a heartbeat and if there is not i am scheduled for a d&c the next day. There is a lot of dicrepency between the weeks and i am not always regular on my period or ovulation. I was just wondering if there is any hope the baby is alive or if it had something wrong and stopped growing. I have not had any bleeding and everything still feels fine.

Prayers & Support Needed

Everyone please pray for Kellie's baby. Kellie is 19 weeks pregnant, 20 weeks tomorrow and she's in the hospital. She had a serious case of the stomach flu and she vomited so hard that she broker her water! Kellie is having a boy and has suffered from several mc's. This is completely devastating to be once again in fear for her babies life! The baby is doing ok, but the amnio fluid is slowly coming out. Kellie is on complete bedrest and the nurses keep checking the babies heartbeat. The baby is not stressed. The doctors say that Kellie has to make it to at least 23 weeks in order for the baby to survive. So I'm asking for everyone to send Kellie your warm thoughts and prayers. Let's all hope and pray that her son makes it and he's able to hang in there for a couple more weeks!!! Thank you everyone!!!

Flying long-haul at 8-10 weeks pregnancy

I would like to find out whether there is any threat to the fetus with long-haul flights? I will be 8 weeks pregnant & flying for 16 hrs with a stopover at 8 hrs, returning again when I am 10 weeks pregnant, with the 16 hrs flight and again stopover at 8 hrs.

I have read something about radiation on flights being dangerous in the first 8-10 weeks of pregnancy. I have not had any complications with my pregnancy thusfar.

Please advise.

Scared of a Miscarriage, should I be?? help please!

I'm 7 weeks and 5 days pregnant. My morning sickness has been pretty bad along with boobs very sore. Today I didn't have any morning sickness and my boobs don't feel as sore...

Could that mean I had a misscarige?

I didn't have any bleeding or heavy cramping but I read stories online of women without any symptoms of a misscarige. I just saw my baby 4 days ago on the scan and it was healthy and my blood work came back healthy...but today morning sickness and my boobs hurting didn't really happen.

I'm scared!

I've been eating right..taking my prenatal vitamins and drinking lots of water...

This is my first pregnancy?

Am I silly for being scared of this? And does morning sickness and breast soreness go away and come back? is this normal?

Pregnant and trying to be healthy but scared!

I'm 7 weeks and 5 days pregnant. This is my first pregnancy. I'm 21 and married. And I eat very healthy and I am taking prenatal vitamins.

I saw the baby last week and I felt really happy. The doctor also called me today and said that my blood results came back good, and that this is looking like a good healthy pregnancy. So I'm really happy and excited. I don't smoke or drink...I try and drink alot of water and go to bed early and everything.

My question...I get little cramps sometimes. Nothing where it even hurts to the point where I need pain medication but I was wondering if this is normal? I have not had any bleeding at all. Is alittle cramping normal this early? And when can I stop worrying so much about having a misscarige.. I really want this baby and I'm trying my best to do everything right. I'm not stressing over misscarige or anything but it crosses my mind alot and makes me want to do everything I can to be healthy!

Should I be concerned the nausea and vomiting symptoms have stopped during my pregnancy?

I am currently 9.5 weeks pregnant and I've had horrible nausea from about week 5, throwing up almost every morning. This morning I woke up and besides feeling slightly queasy, I feel fine! No vomiting or anything, which is new for me! I've had 2 miscarriages in the past, so I'm a little nervous! I saw the baby on u/s at 6 weeks and everything looked good. Should I be concerned and/or call the Dr.? Thanks!

Do vericose veins on the labia affect a vaginal delivery?

Dr.Q or Anyone,

I'm 38 weeks pregnant Tuesday and I'm scheduled to be induced on Feb.17th because of - warning TMI - hemorrhoids (which I had with my son so no concern here) and vericose veins on the labia. My doctor feels like she needs to relieve me from the pressure.

My question is, how does having the vericose veins in such a sensitive area affect a vaginal delivery? Will it hurt? Is there a reason for concern?

I trust my doctor 100% but I can't help but think about it so any reassurance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Falling during early pregnancy

I am 5 weeks 2 days pregnant and slipped on ice this morning & landed on my butt & part of my back. I was too shocked to register or feel anything, but I don't think I fell too hard. Can this have any impact on my pregnancy or the little one? It is now 4 hours later & I have had no signs of bleeding only a little watery cm.

Precipitous Labor and being induced.

Hi there i am 37 weeks pregnant with my third child. I had a midwife appt. last wed and she spoke to me in regards to being induced as my last labor was 50 minutes with very intense contractions. I am already feeling alot of grinding and pressure in my groin and sorry if TMI but when me and my husband have sex, in this past week, it actually hurts him with rubbing up against her head? to the point where we have to stop. I have not had an internal so i am not sure if i have started dilating, but from past experience i have a feeling that she is not that far away.. But my question is could being induced make my labor even faster? as they did check the position and they said she is in text book 'perfect position' for birth!! The midwife said if the OB for any reason decides not to induce at 39 weeks than they can do the stripping of the membranes, i am just getting a little worried as i have always gone into labor on my own, my son arrived at 38 weeks and my daughter was 12 days over. anyone that has had very quick labors, any feedback would be appreciated. thanks

Kidney like pains at 4.5 wks pregnant

I have intermittent pains, which feels like a knuckle being rubbed hard into my lower sides & back, where kidneys are positioned. I had a UTI 10 days ago, but burning & bleeding in the urine has gone away, since I took a course of antibiotics. Could this pain be kidneys or is it common in early pregnancy? The last time, the pain was more on my side & it stretched down into my groin area & upper leg.

Thank you.
