Clomid side effects in men

Dr. Q,

I know that this is probably a new one for you but hey I am sure you have heard it all.

My DH was prescribed Clomid by the Urologist and he has been taking it for about a month. In the past week we have been noticing that it is taking him longer and longer to climax and last night he couldn't climax at all. DH says his drive is lower and his testicles and penis has this numb like sensation when we have intercourse. He isn't having trouble with the erection part and we aren't doing anything different except using a lubrication.

Is it possible that he can be having a side effect from the Clomid? He wasn't tested for low FSH and his counts aren't really all that low. Should he discontinue taking the clomid? He says he doesn't like the way he feels during intercourse and he wants to stop taking it.

femara...weight gain? side effects?

I am supposed to start femara with my next cycle...in 7 days I should start my period. I am about 30 lbs overweight already (I gained alot of weight on clomid last year) and am scared to death I will gain on femara. What should I expect? I am 36...very good health (except over weight) with unexplained fertility (i am going to a fertility specialist now..she seems to think I ovulate too late but this is my only issue).

If it makes you gain weight, what can I do keep it from happening?

I have a irregular period, but here lately it has been coming every two months on the dot. but this month it only lasted three days? and I normally have cramps but the only thing I had was like a burning sensation on my right side of stomach where my ovary is. I haven't tested yet I am waiting to go into town but does anyone know anything about this? has anyone ever experienced this?

I would appreciate if someone would give me some advice!

Tasha

Dr's and ladies....could this be from Clomid

I am on my 3rd month of Clomid at 100mgs. The first 2 months I was taking 50mg and did not notice anything side effects at all, except for the occasional hot flash. This month, my doc increased it to 100mg b/c he says I was not ovulating strong enough on the 50mg. I am 2DPO and I am so sore in the pelvic/lower abdomen area. Its not unbearable pain, it just feels like I have done 1000 crunches. I also dont think I have ever been this bloated in my life. I can barely button my pants. Could this be from the increase?

Femara & Cramping?

Has anyone who has been on Femara noticed cramping? I took my last dose last night & had been feeling fine, however, today I had really bad uterine cramping all afternoon. Just wondering if this may be from the Femara or if it is just weird cramping that is unrelated.

Why do I feel sick?

Ladies I just have a random question. I haven't had af since Aug. But in Sept I took provera that didn't work and last Thursday was my last day of taking prometrium. I got some blood work taken on Monday and the nurse said it looks like my period should be coming because my progesterone is still high...

Well I have been sick to my stomach since Saturday and started throwing up last night and this morning. Could that have anything to do with either the medicine or the fact that the progesterone is still high? Or is it unrelated to anything?

Does that make sense?

Thanks ladies!!

First course of Clomid side effect?

I am 28 years old and I have just started taking Clomid and have currently only took 2 tablets, I am meant to take them from days 2-6, 50mg for first 3 months. I have endometriosis at back of womb, ovaries and tubes are fine, also my progesterone and prolactin are fine according to a bloodtest. Clomid has made my period light, nearly finished now after just 3 days when usually it lasts from 5-7 days? Is this a side effect to the tablet? Also do you think I have a good chance of getting pregnant?

Dose a Higher Dose Clomid=Worse Side Effects?

I've experienced quite a few side effects on Clomid. including: fatigue, weight gain, iritability (sorry DH), sore boobs, hot flashes and night sweats.

I feel bad, cuz hubby just doesn't understand the correllation between hormones and moodiness.

In the 3 months I've been on Clomid & Ovidrel, I've gained back about 10 lbs of the 20 I lost last winter. I asked about Femara to my new RE, and he said it's weaker than Clomid and not as effective. So, since he wants me on stronger drugs (he was gonna do ALL follistim till I told him we were cash poor), I asked about upping Clomid and he said we could do that and add Follistim to that. But, for this month, I want to just do 100mg Clomid+IUI with my OB till hub's semen issues are worked out.

Anywho, I'm worried that as my Clomid dose increases, so will my side effects.

If you've had a Clomid dose upped, can you tell me if your side effects increased?

Provera Side Effects, Clomid and Reoccuring twins

I am currently on day three of provera to induce a period because I haven't had one in four months. Provera has worked every time and I have rarely had issues with it, but this time I throw up 30 minutes to an hour after taking it. I am also exhausted when I am normally full of energy even after working nights at the hospital. I called my RE today and he said that if I want I can take it for another two days and then stop and see if I get my period. I will then start clomid on day three if I do. My concern is that if I don't take it long enough will I affect my lining? Will taking it for just five days bring on my period? I am just ready for another pregnancy and all of this makes it harder. Also, I conceived my twins three years ago on 50 mg of clomid days 3-7. What are my odds of having another set? I honestly don't want another set, but when you take clomid you have to know that's the risk. Do my odds go up? My RE says that it's hard to say and it depends on the cycle. There has to be a better answer...

Hi Dr,

I have used clomid 50mg from 5 ths day of my cyle to 9 th day.Today is my 11 th day.

But So far, I didnot have any side effects or any discomfort with clomid.

But, I heard that everyone will encounter some discomfots with clomid (mood swings, cramps etc).

Why I am not having any.

I am wondering that my body is not reacting to clomid? I have no mood swings, no cramps ...nothing. Not even one. Is this is a bad sign???

I am so much worried..Need your suggestion. Do I need to consult my doctor?

Even though we dont have all these discomforts, still we can get pregnancy??

SORE nipples

I have irregular periods, sometimes none for years. Had a period by Provera on 9-1. Took clomid 5-9. The last day I took it was on the 9th of sept. a week later felt bad cramps. 9-21, 9-22 and present, my nipples are SORE. Its gonna be the end of the month soon. Does SORE nipple mean pregnancy?? or is it still side effects from clomid?

Started Clomid Saturday

Hello ladies- I started Clomid Saturday and thought some of you might like to know what symptoms I have had. I know before I took it, I was really worried. The doc has started me out on 100mg of CLomid and an IUI when I O. The first night I took CLomid I didnt have any signs. The next day I had a couple hot flashes, and that was it. I have not had any symptoms since. I just thought that might ease the mind of those who are planning on taking Clomid.

Questions for you all-

I ovulate on my own monthly- do you know how many eggs can be released by Clomid in a cycle?

Thanks all
