DR. Q and ladies... IUI and meds

I'm on my 4th round of Clomid, and my doc is giving me 2 more rounds before we go to IUI, so hopefully we won't even have to go to it! But after 19 mths of TTC #2, i'm not so hopeful.

Anyway, just wanted to know what is usually involved with the IUI as far as meds go? Is it up to each RE to determine what route and how aggressively you approach it. For instance, does everyone do the trigger shots to time it with when they're goin to do the IUI procedure? And are you still on the CLomid and possibly another med?

Anything you can tell me is helpful. Thanks :)

progesterone shots

I went to get a blood test 4 dpt. It was over 20, which the nurse said was a good sign. Does this mean anything with implantation or just that the levels are good. I am trying to see if the embryo could implant or not.

why do you get hcg shots when trying to conceive?

I saw a RE today and he did all the blood work for recurring mc. He said if all came back neg. I probably had low progesterone; so he said if that was the case i would receive shots. He also mentioned hcg shots but i cant remember why he said this might happen. Please shed some light? thanks again for all your help.

Male Infertility

I am TTC#1 for 6 months. My doctor is ready to start fertility testing. I scheduled a HSG and my husband for testing as well. He had a sperm check and my gyne called me yesterday and said there were adnormalities and we need to call an urologist. He said this is probably the reason for no baby yet. He also said he didn't think I needed to go ahead with my HSG, at least right now. I am just wondering what we are in for. I know I just have to wait to talk to the doctor, but I am just wondering what are the possibilities/treatments, etc. My husband is devastated and I don't know how to handle him either. His history is testosterone shots at 11 for underdevelopment and surgery for an undistended (sp?) testicle. Me....LEEP Oct '06. Should I still have the HSG? I know this is a lot to answer, but we are keeping to ourselves and I need a opinion. Thank you!
