Dr Q i have a question....

I had a m/c just last month and i was only about 4-5 weeks along. I went to the ER and my beta was only 26. I told the dr there that i was RH-. He told me i wouldn't need the shot because i was too ealry in my pregnancy and the baby's blood was not interferring w/ mine yet. SO am i alright? should i of got the shot anyways? Im scared this might effect my next pregnancy.

positive hpt after hcg shot and now it is negative

Hi Dr.,

I took a hpt a few days ago after having the hcg shot on Aug 29th. The test was positive but i know that i tohak it too early. I took another one today and it showed negative does that mean i really did get a true negative and that all of the shot has left my body? I was also wondering if i am having a hard time because i did get the shot on CD19 and that seems really late to O but this is typical for my last 3 cycles? Please give me some insight on this! Thanks!

Flu Shots While Pregnant

I have read a lot about flu shots and pregnancy. Is it really safe (and encouraged) to get a flu shot while pregnant? I have never had a flu shot before, and don't know if I should get one this year, but I am almost 8 weeks pregnant now, so I would be into the 2nd trimester by the time I got the shot.

If people encourage it, are there any known birth defects or issues caused from mom getting the shot?

HCG shot and very bad pain

Dear Dr.,

I am currently taking Femara and my RE gave me the HCG shot on Friday to make sure that I ovulate. I was given the shot at 10am yesterday and all day Friday and Saturday I have had stomach pain, bloating, nausea and I am very tired and thirsty. Are these normal reactions to the HCG shot? It is Sunday and I am still in pain. I also wanted to know when I did or will ovulate? Thanks!

clomid & ovulation

This is gonna be such a silly question cuz I have been TTC for over a year now but most of those months have been either with fertility drugs and trigger or with cysts or after a m/c so this month I took clomid 3-7 and no +OPK but am bloated and crampy like I am ovulating I thing.

I am having hot flashes as well - I am now on CD 14.

When you all ovulated on clomid did you feel like this B4 your ovulation or during your ovulation?

HCG shot combined with Femara

Hi Dr.,

I am currently on my 4th round of Femara and I had an u/s today which is CD 17 and I have been using opk's with no postive yet. I have one follicle that measured 16mm today and I am curious about getting the HCG shot. My RE told me it was up to me if I wanted the shot on Friday or to just wait it out and let mother nature take its course. I am very confused about what to do please give me your input on this my RE also said there has not been a study on HCG shots combined with Femara so I wanted to know if you have had any luck using the combo?

Dr Q--I developed OHSS from my trigger shot!

I spent all weekend in the hospital with horrendous abdominal pains and nausea. Turns out that I had OHSS and developed 2 large cysts (3-4cm) on each ovary--4 total. I had to have a laparoscopy to "pop" the cysts. I am still in some pain--both from the cysts and from the surgery.

My question is...where do I go from here? Will I be able to take injectables again or am I pretty much guaranteed to have the same thing happen next time??? I did ovulate, though--which is a first for me! IS IVF my only option from here? I don't go to my RE until next week.

Dr Q or anyone..opinion on vitamin k shot??

Ok, well I let my 3 yr old have it..but now I am reading more studies have been done and they are saying that vitamin k shot is linkied to child hood luekemia. 1 in 500 kids who get the shot will develop luekemia. Now the shot is given to prevent hemorriging after birth which only happens in 1 in 100,000 births. I've read that you can oral supplement to baby or oral supplement to mom and pass thru breastmilk to give less of a dose than with the shot (the shot is well over 100% of the rec. allowance). Any thoughts on the oral vitamin k vs. shot???

Thanks all!

No EWCM 24 hours after trigger

I gave myself the trigger shot 24 hours ago. I do not have any EWCM and my cervix seems as though it is still firm and closed. Is this normal?

Can I still ovulate and/or get pregnant without any EWCM and with my cervix closed? I am worried that I will not ovulate, even with the follistim and ovidrel. Is this possible?

The doc said that I don't need to get any bloodwork to see if I ovulated b/c the ovidrel will MAKE me ovulate. How will I know if I did/did not ovulate?

BBT and trigger shot

Hello, This is the first cycle where I've taken an hCG trigger shot. I also took femara. I had at least 2 mature follies, probably 3, by the time I took the trigger. I had IUI Monday AM, 36 hours after trigger. But, my temperatures haven't risen to indicate ovulation, and it's now 2 days after when I should have ovulated. Can this happen? thanks

Ovidrel

took an Ovidrell shot on Sunday July 20. I went to the doctor last Tuesday (July 29) for blood work. My nurse called me and told me that my progestrone level was at 12.5, which means that I ovulated. Right then I went and took and took an HPT, it came back postive. Later on I found out that the shot could be the reason for the test to have read postive. I took another one (which would be nine days after the shot) it also came back postive, but I took one on day 10 and it came back negative, I also took one today and it came back neg again:(! My breast have been very sore and I have experience some cramping.) (i also so have irregular periods) Any advice

Bloating? What's up?

So, tomorrow is my IUI. I did clomid 5-9, I have 1 follicle that was 20mm yesterday and did my hCG trigger shot last night.

Since yesterday afternoon, I've felt kinda bloated and almost constipated, though I'm not having difficult BM's (sorry TMI, I know). They're actually quite normal.

So, is the clomid causing this? The Ovidrel shot?

Any other thoughts?
