Today I feel like a good mom and wife

I’ve been so sick I haven’t been able to do much, it’s been a struggle just to keep the house liveable. Well, my doctor started me on a medication that is helping tremendously! Since Friday, I’ve cleaned my whole house, kept it up, and made dinner every night. This weekend I made my husband breakfast both days, washed the sheets, and did a TON of laundry. I also made him a lunch today to take to work. Last night, I even had time for him to teach me how to use my sewing machine, and start on a blanket for the baby…. its not too bad… it took us both some time to learn the machine, but it was good time together. We went to church yesterday… and we have been doing our best to pray at mealtime and at bedtime and other important times as a family, and read scripture together as a family. We’ve been eating meals at the table together whenever the baby is awake, so that he views it as normal…. I even got some new recipes to try so I don’t get bored cooking, and he doesn’t get bored with my cooking. I even got a recipe from his Mom for home made bread. We set up a crib in the babies room, and I have goals to organize the closet…… we had a discussion about finances and are on the same page now…

I just feel that he goes to work and busts his butt to make money for our household, so I should be taking care of him and the house for him…. and its been so hard with all the sicknes.. but now that I’m feeling better, even a little better,and I’m able to do this, I feel so much better about myself…. and about my ability to be a good mom and wife. That does wonders for my mood and energy level… and motivation to get things done!

Sorry.. I’m sure most of you couldn’t care less… but, it made me feel good to get that off my chest!

How to tell family about fertility treatments?

Hi all,

I'm struggling with whether to tell my mom that DH and I are about to do IVF/ICSI. I have a decent relationship with my mom, but she can be judgemental and critical at times. However, I feel a bit guilty about not telling her. One of the reasons I'm reluctant to share the news is because I'm fairly certain that my mom might make me worry unnecessarily. And, she's very close to her friends and sister, and I know she'll probably tell them, too.

Another reason is that we're doing ICSI due to male factor, and I don't want her to know that about my husband.

Did you tell anyone? If so, who? If you didn't why not?

Is this the sort of issues that should stay between couples?

Your responses will help me a lot. Thanks in advance.

Hello all,

I'm gearing up to begin my first IVF/ICSI cycle, and as many of you know, there are lots of appointments/doctor visits, between stims and monitoring, egg retrieval (and possibly taking a day off to recover), then embryo transfer.

I have a very good, friendly relationship with my boss, so I don't think he'll be annoyed that I'll need to be out. I'm sure he'll accommodate me, but though we have a good relationship, I don't really want to tell him that I'm doing IVF.

Any tips?

Well, I just found out yesterday that I am preggo and now I am looking to unite my pregnancy buddies. If your due in May come on over!

Christian ate sweet potatoes.. his first taste of solid food!! He loved them! He ate about five bites.. treated that spoon like he'd done it a million times... swallowed every bite.. no spitting them out. He's only 2 1/2 months, but his pediatrician told me to give them to him a couple times a day b/c he's had a massive appetite lately! I'm so excited.. no one else seems to give a damn.. and I know people here will at least feign some excitement for my sake! :)

I love seeing the pictures of all the new babies, but though for us moms aho have toddlers and little ones too but TTC second and thirds I would start a post for us! Please anyone feel free to share pictures of your kids..young and old!
