Do Prometrium and Clomid increase migraines?

I have had irregular cycles since going off birth control. It's now been two months with no sign of AF so my obgyn has recommended that I take prometrium and then begin clomid. I've had problems with migraines (usually before or during AF) for years now. Is it likely that these medications will cause me to have more migraines?

Prometrium

Hello,

I have a question about prometrium. After I had my second miscarriage my OBYGN told me she wants me to take prometrium after I ovulate. But the nurse called me and told me that the Doctor now wants me to take the prometrium from cycle 16-25 200mg once a day. But sometimes I ovulate late in the cycle between cycle 14-23, my cycles vary from 28-35. The nurse could not answer my questions and my Doctor left the country for family emergency for a whole month.

Does prometrium prevent ovulation if you take it before ovulation? Why the Doctor want me to take it from cycle day 16-25 instead after ovulation? Would my cycles be messed up after I stop taking the progesterone since I get my period on own?

Thanks

Prometrium for IVF

I've had all the possible pregnancy symptoms imaginable due to the Prometrium I'm taking 3x a day. However, as of yesterday my bb's aren't as sore...and they were very sore prior!!! This has me worried. I'm 9 days past day 5 blast transfer and I've heard the prometrium will cause me to not have a period. I do not go in for my beta for another 5 days!! Uggggh! Help! Should I be worried that my bb's aren't as sore?

What is the purpose of estradiol and prometrium after IVF?

I am 9 weeks pregnant from IVF. I have instructions to stay on estradiol and prometrium until the 12th week. What is the purpose of these meds. I have placed a call to see if I can ween off of the meds earlier. I think the meds make me extra nauseous and are making this first trimester even tougher. I wonder if the meds are a precaution or absolutely necessary, and if I can decrease the meds earlier. Thank you.

PLEASE HELP!! Prometrium vaginally 200mg

Hello I have been taking Prometrium vaginally since 2DPO's. I am today 6DPO's. I take it at night before bed. The side effects I've noticed are I'm tired, dizzy, I hvae erect and sensitive nipples, sore breast on the sides and just today.. Constipation!! I'm a mess!! Has anyone else had any and all of these side effects? I'm thinking about stopping them! Why do I need to take them anyways? Does it help with a Luteal Phase Deficiency? I took Clomid CD 5-9 and had an HCG trigger this cycle. PLEASE HELP!

Results of 1st RE appt.

I had my first RE appt. last week on CD 11. They had me come back on CD 13 for labs and ultrasound. Everything looked good except my uterine lining was on the thin side. It was 6.5. So, for the rest of this cycle they prescribed me estrodial (estrogen) and then prometrium following ovulation and gave me an HCG injection.

I'm also trying to look into vitamins and other things I can do to help increase my uterine lining.

The RE said the next step would be the injectibles which should definitely help that problem.

Does prometrium affect your period

Dr. Q, I am new to the site and so far it has been very helpful to me. I have a question about prometrium and your period. I started my first round of 50mg clomid this month and had an HCG injection. my Dr. started me on Prometrium 200mg on day 19 and said to take them till I either start a period or get a + hpt. I am currently 16dpo and started having very very slight redish/brown spotting. I took a hpt on 14dpo and it was neg. Is there a possibility I could be pregnant or is it the prometrium that is just delaying my period?

What can I do to improve uteran lining?

Today is CD 13. This is a natural cycle, Had an ultrasound & PCT today. Everything looked great, except my lining was on the thin side.. it was about 6.5. They prescribed me Estrodial beginning tonight, gave me an HCG shot and also prescribe Prometrium beginning after ovulation.

Are there any other vitamins, foods, supplements, etc. that I can be doing at home to thicken the lining?

THANKS!

Metformin and prometrium after miscarriage

My RE put me on Metformin and 4mg of Folic accid after i miscarried my first baby in May. Found out on June 10th that i am pregnant again. RE says the metformin helped me to ovulate and i could stop taking it and start on Prometruim suppositories continue with the folic acid and prenatals. Ive already had an ultra sound and saw and heard the baby's heartbeat. RE wants me back for a repeat ultra sound this week because last pregancy i heard the heartbeat and a week later and baby's heart wasn't beating anymore. i had no signs of the loss. Do you think the prometrium will help me not to miscarry this time? I also read that women take metformin through the 1st trimester, is this going to affect me that i stopped it at 7 weeks? im a nervous wreck!!!

Good or bad, what is wrong with me? Another busted cycle:( Next steps, please?

I have been ttc #2 for 18 months. I am seeing my Obgyn. I was diagnosed in February 09 with hypothyroidism, tsh levels above 15. My husband had two SA and both were normal, he has no children. I have had normal tsh levels below 3, for three months now. I have been on 50mg clomid for 3 months now, with progesterone levels the following- 18 for March, 27 for April, and 12.5 for May. My lining has been 12 mm for April and 13 mm for May. I have 26 day cycles and ovulate on day 12 or 13. (bbt, and positive opks)I take 200 mg of prometrium daily. Today endend another cycle, as I am 14dpo and began spotting on the prometrium. What is wrong with me? I have had many ultrasounds and tests, tubes are clear. Will I ever get pregnant? Am I too old? I am 36. What should be my next steps? I am heartbroken today:( Thank you.

We're at peace...taking a break

Hey you guys. Just wanted to let you know jack and i are taking a break from TTC baby #2. We've been trying for 2 1/2 years now, and have been on Clomid, Femara, Glucophage, and Prometrium. As a lot of you know we've lost 2 over that time.

We finished our last round of Femara in April and i got my period last week. Althought we'd be thrilled to have another still, we feel like God's given us a total peace about it, and we know we'll be okay if we don't have another. We feel totally blessed with our daughter, Savannah, who will be 5 in a few months, and heading off to Kindergarten!!! We can hardly believe it!

We'd talked about IUI in the past, but just feel like its not right for us. I'm not getting back on birth control or anything...we're just letting it "be" for a while. We're taking a break from testing, tracking, meds--the whole game. Believe me, i'm ready to forget about it for a while! It can be a headache trying to keep up with it all--you guys know :)

Anyway, just wanted to let you know what was going on. I know i haven't posted mcuh lately--honestly there just hasn't been much to tell, so i've kind'a been layin low. But i'm actually doing okay with it all. God has given me a peace about it that i didn't have even six months ago.

Thank you for all of your support the past 2 1/2 years. I will be on from time to time to check up on you all, and let you know of any news that may come to be :)

I have to believe persistance will prevail....

My dh and I have been ttc our first child together since December 2008. I have a nine year old boy from my first marriage and my dh does not have any children. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism in February of this year and also have luteal phase defect. I am currently on my second round of clomid and prometrium. I had good numbers this month but got a bfn today on 14 dpo. I am so sad, but I can't give up. I have to believe that persistance will prevail.

When should I take HPT?

This cycle, I did my 6th and last round of Clomid. The past few rounds with Clomid, I got a +OPK on CD 16 and ovulated on CD 17. AF always started 14-15 DPO. I am supposed to take Prometrium from CD 17-30 and test on CD30 if AF had not yet shown, but it always did.

HOWEVER, I think I ovulated late this cycle. I did OPK's from CD 11-20 and never got a +. I stopped testing b/c I ran out. I had EWCM CD 17-20 with the most on CD 19 & 20. CD 21 was a little watery. I've been dry every day since.

My problem is... I don't know when to test b/c I don't know exactly when or even if I ovulated. I don't want to stop the Prometrium too early in case I am pregnant.

Every other month, AF started on it's own while I was still taking the Prometrium, so should I just keep taking the Prometrium until AF comes????

Sorry so long!

My progesterone nightmare is about to begin...

I am approaching my nightmare. I take prometrium for low progesterone starting a few days after confirmed ovulation and I am a basket case on the stuff! This is my second month on it and I am an emotional wreck for 17 days. I am not looking forward to it, and neither is my dh...but I'll do anything for my BFP.
