The life expectancy of these patients is short-usually do not live past their forties :( <br/><br/>There is a very high probability that my DH has this disease also. It often begins with the muscles of the eyelids deteriorating & he has already been diagnosed with the same type of eye problems as his mom. He has NOT been diagnosed with the mitochondrial disease yet. We were not aware of this even being a possibility until last week! <br/><br/>Needless to say we are in a state of shock & just trying to take things one step at a time. Please keep us-especially my DH in your prayers.
