Ovulating a Week Early? Why?

I was on clomid for the last 4 months, but we're taking a break this month. Both on and off Clomid, I ovulated around CD 17-19, exactly 9 days after my last pill.

This month, for the first time EVER, it appears that I'm going to ovulate REALLY REALLY early. Based on OPK's getting darker and CM getting thinner, I'd say I'm going to ovulate around CD 13-14.

TMI: I had a couple days a lot of goopy CM at CD8-9 (way more than normal). I understand that high estrogen levels can cause more CM. Today is CD 12 and the EWCM has now shown up. (OPK later today)

Why would my body be ready to O nearly a week early??

Cramps

Ever since my IUI I've been cramping. At first I thought it was because I was constipated but then I went so I'm not sure why I am still cramping. I did have a pap smear two weeks ago and then my IUI a week ago... could I just be sore down there???

13+ weeks post partum and still no period!

Hi Dr. Q and Ladies,

I am just wondering - at what point should I worry that I still haven't gotten my period. I mean, aside from not being able to start BC till I get it, I am so not missing it! I have taken a couple HPT just to be sure...(DH and I are using protection though) - What could be causing such a delay? Oh, I'm not breast feeding.

11 weeks post partum and still no period???

Hello,

I gave birth to my little girl over 11 weeks ago now and still have not gotten a period. I am not breastfeeding. I bled for about 2 weeks after delivery. I had severe cramps for a couple hours at exactly 8 weeks post partum, (same day as internal exam so that might account for the pink) even had a very light tinge of pink when I wiped and fully expected that my period was coming but nothing happened after that.

I want to start my BC but cant until my peiod comes...my doc said that I can abstain from sex for 10 days then have a pregnancy test and if its negative then I can take something to induce my period, or I can just wait it out. Advise? Is it normal to go this long with no period?

progesterone and estrogen after IVF diferrent protocol

Hi Dr Q or Dr Eva, I will be staring IVF in November. I have noticed that a lot of the women undergoing IVF on this site after the embryo is put back in have a different protocol. All are on progesterone but only some are on estrogen. Do you know why this differs.

Dr. Q or Dr. Eva can one develop an underactive thyroid from pregnancy

I am having problems with breast feeding and the more and more I look into the information out there I am starting to wonder if it could be a thyroid problem resulting from pregnancy. I am never able to get more than a few drops with a pump and my daughter lost a lot of weight during the 1st 2 weeks that I was breast feeding her exclusively. My breast never got "hard" they always seem soft. From my understanding it is very rare for a person to not to be able to produce milk and read that thyroid levels can change after pregnancy.

Everyone read!

I need updates on everyone! Sorry I haven't been around much...

I thought I had gotten away with no post partum depression.. but I didn't. It kicked in within in the past month and a half or so... more anxiety than depression. I'm going to see a psychiatrist tomorrow, but the urgent care doctor gave me some celexa about 2 weeks ago to get through until tomorrow. I'm doing okay though.. just so stressed.. to the point I itch all over... want to claw my skin off really.. and I grind my teeth.. bad enough i had to have one resurfaced...

I've got a migraine today.. but other than that I've been pretty good.. I seem to be catching up on house work more.. and Christian is getting betterw ith taking naps, and not crying when I can't hold him. Knock on wood!I've also lost more weight, I'm now sitting at 39 lbs lost since delivery, I weigh 156 as of this morning. I was 195 when I delivered. That feels good!

I'm also having surgery on my bladder October 1st b/c I'm still leaking urine 3 months after giving birth... I'm nervous about that... I won't be able to lift Christian for at least a week...

Check out the new updates to my blog.. I update at least weekly. www.aaronkoppfamily.blogspot.com

And everyone, tell me how you are doing.. post belly pics and baby pics here... I miss talking to you all!

Love you guys alot!

KelleyD, are you around?

I was just reading a threat about your IUI journey. I'm dealing with the same male factor issues, as my husband also has a low count. I had my second IUI on Aug. 20 and we have 2.3M sperm post-wash. I'm holding out some hope that it may have worked, since my RE says he's seen pregnancies with far fewer. But I also know that the odds are against us.

Where are you now -- IVF/ICSI, or are you trying another IUI?

My husband's motility actually improved from 25% to 60% this time around (and so did the count: last time we only had 300,000 post-wash). So, our RE thinks it's worth trying one more IUI if this one doesn't work.

I'd love to hear from you, hopefully you'll see this post! :)

Psychiatric drugs & conceiving

I'm 32 & have been married & on the pill for 10 years. I got off the pill about 7 months ago. I have a regular cycle of 25 days. Never had any "female" problems. My husband & I are very healthy - don't drink/smoke.

I am also Bipolar. I take Lithium, Seroquel & Welbutrin. I feel that my disorder is finally under control. I have been "trying" to get pregnant for 4-5 months. Could my meds interfere with me getting pregnant? (I do understand that I need to consult my doctor about taking meds while pregnant.)

Is there anything else you could suggest that might help me conceive faster? We put a family on hold for career purposes & now feel crunched for time.

Pregnant after Mirena?

I had a Mirena IUD in for approximately 4 months. I had it removed on August 6th. Prior to my removal, I had a period. After the removal, I had another period (or bleeding). On August 8th, my boyfriend and I made love with no protection. This past Friday, we made love again with no protection and the put a pillow under my bottom to help the sperm "soak in". We are trying to have a baby! On Saturday afternoon, I went to the bathroom and I was spotting lightly. The blood was a medium reddish color. It only lasted a few hours. On Sunday, there was a bit more pink discharge. Is it possible for me to be pregnant after only being Mirena -free for less than 2 weeks? I hope the answer is "Yes"!

post-partum depression

Dr. Q and others,

I'm really suffering right now from post-partum depression or just depression. I feel really down and I can't sleep, so that doesn't help. Does anyone know of any good psychiatrists in the Sacramento area? The earliest appt. I could get is late Sept. and I can't wait that long. Any suggestions are very appreciated!

Thanks,

Jen
