Anterior placenta & sex

I am just over 14 weeks and when I went in to the Dr. the other day she said that I had an anterior placenta- which made it very difficult to hear the baby's heartbeat via the dopplar.

I read somewhere that many times people with an anterior placenta are to refrain from having sex. Is that true? or is that only true once a person is farther along and sex can help aid in sending someone into labor????

Anterior Placenta?

Hi! I had just over 14 weeks today and I went in to the Dr. today because I fell last night ( damn towels on the floor) anyways I went in as a precaution and the dr tried listening to the heartbeat on the dopler and could not find it- (this also happened at my last appointment) So my doctor had me to into ultrasound to double check everything- and the baby is just fine- she said the reason she couldn't hear the heartbeat on the doplar was because I have an "anterior placenta" I asked her if that was bad and she said NO- but I didn't really ask her what exactly that meant- I was just too relieved that everything was okay!

Can you tell me what exactly an anterior placenta is???

Hi there- I am 18 weeks pregnant tomorrow- Ive felt a few bubbling things, one undeniable tap and really nothing else much.

Im still not showing- ( I was overweight to begin with and havent gained at all the whole pregnancy infact I lost to begin with and am now back at starting weight- which IM not complaining about) but Im wondering if this is ok...

I will be 18 weeks tomorrow- and have had all excellent ultrasounds- its a girl! And I was told that I have an anterior placenta- which Im thinking is blocking the earliest movements??

Can you provided some reassurance? :)

Thank you all!!

I have been told today after a scan that I have Placenta Previa. The DR wouldn't tell me much about it, only to wait until another scan in 4 weeks when I will be 34 weeks Pregnant to see if the Placenta moves when my tummy gets bigger. He did say that I could go into preterm labour. This is probally the cause of which I have been bleeding during this pregnancy or maybe not!!! Can you please give some advice on this or share your stories if this has happened to you as Im really scared!!! I would appreciate your help.

Placenta Previa

Hi Dr.,

I'm 25 weeks now and at my 20 week u/s the doc said I have a marginally low-lying placenta. He said it should correct itself and I need another u/s at 30 - 34 weeks (I'm hoping later rather than sooner to give it more time to correct itself). Had a little spotting when I wiped on Jan. 1st and then on Feb. 4th. This makes me think it's still low-lying. Is there anything I can do to help the placenta to correct itself? Back in Dec., my doc said exercise is good for the placenta. I am physically active and exercise about 3 - 5 times per week (walking, modified step aerobics, light yoga, prenatal pilates). Then I read in late pregnancy exercise is not good for placenta previa. Please advise...thank you!

P.S. Ladies, I have not forgotten about you all! I don't have as much time to get on here and respond to posts, but I still get on when I have a chance to stay updated with everyone. You're still in my thoughts and prayers. Love and hugs to all!!!

Jen

placenta

I had a ultrasound yesterday, since they are monitoring me due to my history .MY cervix and how long it is .I'm seen every week for an ultrasound to check to make sure it does not get short.

I have a question the ultrasound technician and the student doctor (who was really confused about the ultrasound machine) told me it was hard to see where it sometimes ends on the ultrasound because my placenta is sitting low.Is that something to worry about ? Is it common ?
