Jen's Journey- BFP =)

Been trying to have our first baby for 3 years as of October 2008. My husband is 24 and I am 23. We were best friends in high school, I've known him since I was 6 years old. We've been together 6 years on November 2nd =)

Been married for 3 years. Bought our first house a month before we got married. We are hard working and honest mid-west people. =)

After stopping birth conrtol pills I did not have a period for 13 months. Then once I got a period every month I tried naturally for a year, nothing. So I went to the Dr and found out I do not ovulate on my own (even though I get a period each month I fall into the 20% of women who get a false period but do not ovulate) I'm on clomid right now.

First round 50 mg- No ovulation.

Second round 50 mg- No ovulation, but on huge follicle at least. Progesterone level 0.8 on cd 25.

Third Round 100 mg- 3 mature follicles, ovulated cd 15.

Nov. 29th 2008- GOT MY BFP =)

I am very thankful for this site and I ♥ all you ladies for helping me along the way!

Extreme large ovaries and OHSS (Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome)

When I went in for my 7th week ultrasound (no heartbeat detected) my ovaries seemed rather large...the lengths measuring 56 and 39 (was too shocked to pay attention to other numbers)

Is this severe/critical OHSS? could this scar my ovaries? I am unable to conceive mostly because of a severe male factor issue and have never had cysts..will OHSS scar my ovaries?

How long do u think i may have to wait before starting another cycle, fresh or frozen..

thank you

I've had a HSG, u/s, bloodwork. We are awaiting the results of DH's semen analysis right now.

I was told I may have a sub septate uterus. I have a SIS this month to get that checked out. May have to get it fixed soon.

Working part time now and going to school for nursing. Every day is a challenge, but I know my time to be a mother is closer than ever and I am very very thankful. I know there is a time and place for everything and soon my life will change. I am already very blessed and I realize why it was meant to be that we waited to be parents (although it does not ease the pain). I wish you all the best and if we only truly believe we will be mothers then we will achieve it =)

ovarian cysts

I am 19 years old, I have been dealing with ovarian cysts since I was 16 years old. I have had numerous ultrasounds and sonograms and they all continuously confirm one thing- that i have ovarian cysts. I have been on every type of birth control with horrible effects from each one. For two months now, I have been dealing with 8/10 pain in my lower abdomen and I have been bleeding for 9 straight days now. I am on tri-cyclen and my period is not suppose to even begin until two days from now. I am constantly taking pain killers, I can't be active or i'll rupture them. Got any idea what I should do?

My mom is having a hysterectomy, but wants to keep her ovaries, can she?

My mom is 48 and has had several problems over the last year. The doctor finally decided to do a hysterectomy. My mom wants to keep her ovaries, because she is afraid she is going to her sex drive. Is this true? Is there a website where she can get some info on why she can keep them and the doctor won't take them out. She has mentioned it to the doctor that she doesn't want them out but he won't listen. I guess they do other things besides decrease the sex drive and that is another reason she want's to keep them. Can you help me?

Question about a Cyst

About 2 weeks ago I was hospitalized with a 7cm cyst. It was the first time I'd ever been late (without being pregnant)and my first experience with a cyst. My period came as soon as I was released from the hospital (9/21) It went away on its own and my doctor requested for me to get an ultrasound on Wednesday (10/1) to ensure its demise. On Wednesday the ultrasound technician let me see what was going on and I happened to see what looked like my ovaries, but only this time they were pretty enlarged and looked like I had one or two giant nodules and 2 or 3 tiny ones inside each one. Its terrified me, since.

I realize that I'm supposed to be ovulating now, and every time in the past, I have ovulated at the "correct" time. I have generally 28 to 29 day cycles. I am overweight, and since my miscarriage have experienced horrible acne. After my miscarriage I was sent to an IVF clinic to have a full workup done, and came back with a clean bill of health. My question is this... could I have PCOS? If I've had normal periods and according to OPKs am ovulating normally.

This is something that has been weighing heavily on my mind since I decided to google what an ovulating ovary looks like and ended up being bombarded with PCOS ovaries. Thanks.

Lean PCOS, TTC, Nothing is Working!!!!

I have lean PCOS. My weight is perfect for my height. I don't ovulate on my own. I took Clomid at 50mg for 3months and didn't get pregnant. I've had an HSG, pelvic ultrasound, hysteroscopy, and laparoscopy. All my reproductive organs look great. My ovaries are only slightly enlarged, but no major cysts. My tubes are open. No other physical problems. My husband has no issue with his sperm. Why am I not pregnant yet? It's been 15 months! What else can I try besides IUI and IVF?

Question for Doc -multifollicular ovaries.

Hi Doc

After a vaginal ultrasound it was discovered that both my ovaries were 'multifollicular'.

It was suspected that i may have pcos even though I dont have any other symptons and bio-chemical tests followed to confirm. The result was that i DONT have pcos but im curious as to what this term 'multifollicular ovaries' means to someone without pcos and if it could be related to fibroids that were also found.

Many thanks.

What are the odds of having another baby?

I have miscarried 5 times and carried one. (So I have been pregnant 6 times.) One of my miscarriages was a tubal and the doctor removed my left fillopian tube. I still have both ovaries and my right fillopian tube. The doctor told me after the tubal that my 'female parts' look great and that I am fully able to get pregnant and carry children. I don't think I can have another child, but my doctor says otherwise. I just miscarried my fifth baby last week. My husband and I have been together for 8 years and have never used a condom. We thought that his sperm was broken, for lack of a better term, but now I think it's me not being able to carry a child. My grandmother had 6 kids with 3 miscarriages so she should have had 9 kids. My aunt lost one when she was 8 months along. So I guess it kind of runs in the family. My monthly periods are hell for me. I bleed alot with alot of pain. I have had tests done to see if I have endemitriosis, cysts, or anything else that can be causing this and all the tests come out fine. Do you think that I am or am not able to conceive again and carry full term?

Looking for those TTC for 3+ years...?

Hey I want to start a post for any women who have been ttc for 3+ years. This matters to me b/c Im at the 3 year mark. I would like to share stories and experiences with other women who are in the same... "boat" as I am.

No offense to anyone who hasn't been ttc that long, I know it still hurts just as bad no matter how long or short you are ttc with negative results.

I simply want to jump straight to the point and talk with some women who have been struggling for as long as I have. I find I don't have a lot in common with some of the women on this site b/c I've been ttc so much longer then they have, and I seem to be in a different "place" then they are.

So I'm looking for someone who's in the same "place" as me =)

I feel very alone, it seems like not too many women have been ttc for this long, and I need to know there are success stories for someone in my position. I have so much love and encouragement to share... Anyone else know how I feel?

What do u think..pcos???

Hi everyone

I recently had a vaginal ultrasound and a couple of abnormalities were found.

Both ovaries were of normal size but contained multiple 'follicles'.

It was suggested it is most likely pcos but more tests are needed to confirm. However i am reluctant to accept this as ive always had regular periods with a cycle normally 28-32 days, i always get +OPT followed approx 14 days later by AF. My period's arent especially painful or heavy.

My intial blood tests all came back normal for-

FSH, thyroid, progesterone, testosterone.

I dont have excessive hair growth and im not overweight.

Given this information do you think its reasonable to assume pcos is the most likely cause of my 'multifollicular ovaries'?

Any advice much appreciated :)

****BABYDUST****

Dr Q..Please answer ovulation question?

Hi Dr. Q

I was just wondering if its possible to ovulate on both sides in the same month? I usually have cramping on the side of and I felt it on my left side, then 12+ hours I felt it on my right side.. Is this possible or is it just one side? And if it is possible does that mean I could be pregnant with twins? I am currently 5 weeks and 3 days.. And also thought this because I got a positive pregnancy test 4 days before my period and with all 3 of my other kids I spent a fortune on early tests and none ever showed until the day of AF... I called Dr. and they don't need to see me til Sept. 16!!!

Also does the "egg white" discharge happen on the day of ovulation or prior to? Just wondering because I read for a better chance of a girl to bd 2-3 days before ov. and we only bd on the day of ewcm, so thought maybe I could know early on the sex of the baby:) (Not like thats a for sure thing I know but fun to think):) Thanks

Ovulation Pains?

My ovaries have been very tender and sore for the last three days. I have heard that you can feel ovulation. But it seems that ovulation pain is only on one side. I am having pains on both sides. Not bad pains. Just noticable pains. I should be close to ovulation. Could this just be my body getting ready to ovulate? Or should I be worried. This is my third cycle of clomid. Could the clomid be causing this? I'm trying to hold out and see if I ovulate before seeing my doctor. I'm not looking for a diagnosis. I'm just curious about what could be causing it and if I should see my doctor sooner. I have been look for answers through other peoples questions but I have yet to find anybody complaining of both ovaries hurting. Any help would be appreciated.

Sonogram Pelvic or Transvaginal?

Hello. I have a sonogram on Friday to look at ovaries, etc. They told me it was my choice as to which sonogram to do either pelvic or transvaginal. The pelvic I have to have a full bladder and with transvaginal I would not. Does anyone know if one is better than the other or advantages of one over the other. Thanks!

Hi Dr, implantation usually happens around 6dpo right? I am 11dpo, so I think this is too late for implantation cramps. I'm having sharp little twinge cramp's in my ovary area. What could this be? Is it something to worry about?
