Diluted OPKs???

I have a question. I thought I would be ovulating today (cd15) but I took an OPK an it was negative. I have been taking OPK's since dc9. All have been negative. I have also been tracking cervical mucus, but I have had very little all week, until today. I had a lot of ewcm today when I went to the bathroom. I was surprised to see the - OPK :( I did however drink a lot of water today. Could that have something to do with it being negative??? I test at 3pm daily.

OPK Results After 10 Minutes

I understand why you aren't supposed to read HPT results after 10 minutes, but why are you not supposed to read OPK's after 10 minutes? Or am I wrong on that?

I felt the need to POAS and all I have are OPK's so last night, (CD 23) I took an OPK for the first time in months! It was negative, but the test line was only a little lighter than the control line. Wondering if it's because I didn't read it until after 10 minutes or if it's because I recently ovulated or if it's picking up the HCG hormone... not quite sure how any of that works, but here's to hoping!

Ok. So today is day 6 after my miscarriage. I am still bleeding very light now. So I'm guessing in just a few days it will be less. I went out today and bought a few OPK's first time using them. First time ttc. This time I pray my pregnancy has a better outcome. I want a baby now really badly. When I was being checked dilating my doc said everything was healthy and I should not have troubles conceiving again. Although at the time I was 15 weeks pregnant, and nearly 7 years of unprotected sex with only 1 other pregnancy a chemical. N E Who, Hopefully something in the next 2 weeks after bleed is gone I will baby dance the nights away and hope for the best. I am also trying to keep stress down so fingers crossed ladies. I'll keep ya posted.

so i had light spotting last week, and thought well maybe i'm pregnant??? so i took a hpt this morning...negative. so then i logged on here and somebody said something about fertility friend...so i logged on there, added all my info, and it says i could be fertile towards the end of this week. so i did a opt, also negative. but i'll keep it up for the next week or so and hopefully i get a positive lh surge!! (my last AF was august 25) baby dust to me!!!

Oh well, I'm officially out of the TWW. Today is CD1 of cycle three of clomid for me. I was kinda hopeful that I was experiencing "implantation" bleeding, but a BFN at 13 days DPO doesn't lie. AF is here in full flow today. I'm all stocked up on OPKs, and will be taking the same dosage of Clomid (100 mg) from CD2-CD6 since I ovulated last month. DH will also be going in for testing.

Anyone else back to CD1?

OPK's and the line

Wondering if when the test line of the OPK is darker than the control line if that means that you will ovulate sooner rather than later. i know that when you see 2 lines the same color it is a positive and you will ovulate 24-48 hours later but when the test line is darker does that mean that you will ovulate like 24 hours later?

I had a very dark test line yesterday, sunday and totally feels like i am ovulating today. just curious if thats how it goes or now.

Hi Ladies, I have already posted a similar message to this already but am still confused... I had a OPK+ on CD 15 (I'm now CD19, took clomid 150mg CD2-6), but as yet have had no BBT rise at all. My advice so far from kind ladies on this site is to just go with the OPK and assume that I O'd on CD16, but I am worried about stopping the BD too soon. I have been charting for the past three cycles and my temp always rises after O.. and it has not. I have done a couple more OPK's since the first positive, all different brands, and they are still showing positive 4 days later. I know that you aren't supposed to test again after the 1st +, but the lack of thermal shifty has me baffled. What do you think? Have any of you ladies seen a positive OPK, no thermal shift, and still O'd? I thought that your temp had to rise to confirm O. Please help!

Hi there, I am on CD 18, having taken clomid 150mg on cd 2-6. I was so excited to get a OPK+ on CD 15, as I have pcos and usually don't ovulate untl cd 35-40 at the earliest. However, i am charting my temps correctly, and have had no rise in BBT yet, although I am still having ewcm. I did another OPK today (cd19).. I know you're not meant to test again after your first positive, but I wanted to know what wasw happening. So the OPK today was positive again. I don't think I have ovulated yet. What is going on? Has anyone else had OPK+ and not ovulated/seen rise in BBT? Thanks for your help!!

hCG vs LH showing up on test strips

I asked my OB/GYN this question and he was unable to respond.

Knowing that hCG and LH are "cousins", and that hCG can show up on OPK's, I'm wondering how long it would take for Ovidrel to enter the bloodstream and exit kidneys in high enough concentration to trigger a positive OPK?

That leads to another question. IF I were about to ovulate on my own and had a positive OPK, and I took an Ovidrel shot, would I still ovulate on my own, or would the Ovidrel kick in and delay my O till 36ish hours later?

Alright, final question: This month, I did Clomid 3-7 and Monday, I had a 20mm follie on my right side. Doc had me take my shot that night to prepare for IUI on Wednesday. I get how all that happens.

BUT, let's say I were doing this without the follie studies. I did not have a postive OPK till midday Wednesday (not sure if it was my LH or the Ovidrel showing up, hence the previous question)... I'd have called the doc the first day I had the positive OPK and had an IUI the next day, right? Does that mean that I would have naturally ovulated a day later than what I did with the Ovidrel shot (at least this month anyway)?

Ok, We are now on TTC Cycle Number 3.

Here is a clue of what her cycle looks like. A 27 day cycle now, used to be 24.

Wednesday 27th August 2008 - First day of your cycle

Saturday 6th September 2008 - A little bit fertile

Sunday 7th September 2008 - Fertile

Monday 8th September 2008 - VERY fertile

Tuesday 9th September 2008 - Time to ovulate

Tuesday 23rd September 2008 - End of cycle

How many times a day should someone test the OPK? From what cycle day?

Hi all - I'm new to this forum and wanted to know if anyone had experience with 3 or more days of + OPK results?

3 days ago, I got the first +OPK so I decided to double check by using other brands (even with same sample of urine) and got different responses:

1. First Response - showed positive

2. Clearblue - showed negative (or very light test line)

3. Rite Aid brand - showed positive

So, I thought I had O'd based on 2 out of 3 +.

2nd day, I still got + on FR; - with CB and not sure on Rite Aid brand.

3rd day, I am still getting + on FR and - with CB.

So, in summary, do you think First Response is incorrect and that I didn't O? or is it possible to actually have LH surge for 3 straight days?

Last week, before the + OPK, I had some cerival mucus. Problem is I didn't BBT so I can't confirm if I did indeed have a surge.

What do you think? Thanks!

My lmp was 8/2 and i didnt get my lh surge til the 21st. Now i woke up this morning throwing up. Even though im 3 days out from period and my lh surge was later is it too soon to test?

Does Ovidrel show up on OPK?

I had a follie study yesterday... dominant was 20mm, so I was advised to take my Ovidrel shot last night to prepare for IUI Wednesday.

Out of curiousity, I did an OPK just now and it's negative. Does Ovidrel show up on an OPK? If so, how long does it take to show up?

I'm just a little concerned cuz Wedneday would be 2-3 days earlier than I would have expected ovulation. I still have white-ish CM and a negative OPK.

Another question: If I was about to ovulate on my own, what would the Ovidrel shot do? Make it come sooner, or still push it to the approximate 36 hour point?

Me (24) dh (30) MX pcos and hypothyroid currently taking metformin 1000 mg 2 years and levothyroxin 50 mg 2 years started clomid on 8/8/08 50 mg after taking provera for 3 months to induce a period i dont have one at all without meds ttc for 3 years but i dont o so needed the clomid for some odd reason my doctor gave me clomid cd 13-17 i hope theres a method to her madness ! the first day of my cycle was july 27 and i havent gotten a opk + until day 27 now im on 31 and oddly enough still opk + so weird but anyways about me and not my cycle my nme is joanna i have been with my hubby for 3 years he is my world he is all i have i have no family was raised in foster care and dont trust to m any people so not a lot of friends either so im sure you can understand i really want to start my own family ! i really am looking for to talking to everyone on here and getting and sharing advice i have my fingers crossed for my self and everybody else here ttc xxxxx i really am hopefull clomid will work for me im not even sure when ill quit getting these opk+ but i guess i cant complain at least im gettimg one right well ill let you know when i do so ill know how many days post o i am so i know when to start my 2ww oh and another thing my doctor is telling me to start again 100 mg clomid in a week thats weird not even checking or monitering me oh well shes fruity i hope itll be okay ill just go in and get her to do a preg test in 2 weeks i guess thats all i can do ill already be taking another round of clomid by then i just hope there is a method to her madness! wish me luck and baby dust to you all!
