Tx options..what to do, Laporoscopy or IVF?

I don't know whether to do laproscopy or IVF?! Here's my story... I am 28, soon to be 29, dh is 31. We have a awesome little girl who is 4 1/2, she was concieved naturally after ttc 3 yrs. We have been ttc for almost 4 yrs now, this time with no luck. My bmi is 45. My cycles are very reg. every 26 days, usually get a postive opk on cd 10 or 11. I have terrible cramps a few days before af and af is very light, maybe 2 days long. DD was delivered by c-section, that is the only surgery I have ever had. I had HSG and saline infused sonogram all with normal finding and tubes open. I have done 7 cycles of clomid with the ob before I saw a RE, The first RE was soo optomistic I would be pg fast, I did 3 cycles of gonal f and an iui with the third cycle. I didn't respond well to meds 1st cycle 150 iu for 5 days and 2 follicles, 2nd cycle 225 iu for 6 days and 2 follicles, 3rd cycle and iui, 1 follicle after 8 days of 300 iu's. That re just said to lose 60 lbs and come back in 3 months. so down 25 lbs 3 months later I have switched re's and the new one suggested IVF, femera+gonal f for 2 cycles or laproscopy to check tubes and for endo/adhesions..... I told him I wanted to do femera 1st, I didn't want to have surgery if I didn't have too.. I am on femera right now and start gonl tomorrow, but at my cd 2 u/s nurse wrote on my paper I had 2-3 antral follicles on right ovary and 4-5 on left ovary, that seems like not enough, I am only 28, so now I am thinking maybe I should have lap done to check or i should just go to IVF, ins. doesn't cover ivf is the only think holding me back! Oh, he said my FSH was good though and dh is fine also. New RE also said I DO NOT HAVE PCOS, he said to keep trying to lose wieght, but he doesn't think it's weight related, esp since dh was concieved with me weighing 25 lbs heavier. I have been having dull/aching/burning pain near left ovary since july and I have had painful cramps before periods and since dd took a while to concieve he is thinking I may have endo.. My paper also said ovulation dysfunction, maybe I am "o"ing to early or egg not mature?! I will finish this cycle, but then I am considering lap and then do 2 cycles of meds and if no luck then ivf in fall, or should I just go right to ivf???? any suggestions?? HELP?!! It's soo hard and confusing..

Is IVF or IUI the best option?

I am wondering if IVF is the best or only option at this point... Here is my story...DH and I have a wonderful dd who turned 4 in may:D She took us about 3 yrs ttc (no meds), just finally happened. We have been ttc for 3.5 yrs now. I am 28, DH is 30. The dr's. say dh is fine. I am taking 1500mg metforminxr per obgyn. I am 5'5" and weigh 268 lbs. I have high triglicerides, my fasting insulin level was 14. They say I have PCOS( i am not so sure) I have very reg. periods, every 26-27 days- always have, af lasts 2-3 days, pretty light. I usually get a post. opk around cd 10. I have pms before af shows, I rarely have any ewcm. No sore breasts, unles I had a hcg shot. I have done 8 rounds of clomid through ob, unmonitored, 3 cycles of gonal f and 1 iui through RE, all with bfn. I only produced 1-2 follicles on gonal f with doses of 150,225, and 300. The RE said we have a chance of preg on our own of 5-10% since we have been trying so long. Dh's last s/a prior to iui- washed was- 90%mobility, 46 million sperm with high aggulation(clumping) My last visit to the RE, he said I wasn't responding well to the meds due to my weight and he wouldn't help me anymore until I lost 60 lbs. He also stated people don't respond well that are obese or are in premenopausal... then he says, well I don't think your premenoupausal because your ovaries are nice and round and aren't shrinking?! The RE's last plan was for me to lose 60 lbs in 3 months and then give him a call.....It's been 2 months and I am down 18 lbs.. and going... Do you think I should try iui and gonal again? Should we go right to IVF and should we get a second opinion. Also after a round of birth control I always have corpel luteul cysts, could I have a luteal phase defect?? Sorry so long... help? What to do?

after ttc for over 3 yrs for the 2nd time it is getting old!

I am soon to be 29, dh is soon to be 31 and dd is almost 4 1/2. I have a bmi of 46, pcos and am otherwise healthy. my periods have always been light and very regular and they still are. It took 3 yrs of ttc for my dd, which I got pg without any meds, they just had told me I wasn't ovulating and needed lose wieght, the next month I was finally pg after 3 yrs. So this time around we started early... when my daughter was about 6 months old I quit the depo shot, then when she was 9 months old I quit the pill. I weigh about 15 lbs less now then when I got pg with dd. Now this time around ttc, dh sperm count good, tubes clear, 8 rounds of clomid and then I did 3 rounds of gonal f and 1 iui all with bfn, then re said in august that I had to lose 60lbs before he would try anything else.... I feel like a failure, I am just confused, I definatly "o'd" with those cycles and still no bfp:( So I am 10 lbs down since aug and still trying to lose wieght, taking metformin xr and ttc on my own. It sucks, I feel like time is just wasting away.......I shouldn't even have to try to get pg, it should just happen...ugh.. I just want to cry and scream.... my dh has been great and supportive, but I feel he is just happy with dd and if another one came great, but he doesn't have the urge I have to have another baby, it consumes me, then I feel guilty because of course I love dd, why shouldn't she be enough?! She wants a sibling soo bad too, it is sad, she prays every night for a sister or brother. and that just breaks my heart too. I am at the point that I just wish I would get pg or this urge would go away.....

Big, Beautiful, and Pregnant! (or Trying to be!!!) - Support for us chubby folk:)

Hey Ladies, so I was reading the book "Big, Beautiful, and Pregnant" and it said that support is of utmost importance.

Well I am not pregnant yet, but determined to be soon. I thought maybe those of us that are overweight could all pull together to support each other whether we are trying to get or are pregnant already. I know that I have a lot of questions about both, trying to get pregnant and once I get there. Its just a thought. It might be nice to have some support. Nothing against the lovely size 6 "average" ladies, but sometimes its nice to not feel like the outcast.

If you want to join I would LOVE it:)

Obese Pregnancy

I am 274 lbs. I have lost about 17 pounds since the begining of June. I have also been seeing an OBGYN since June as I hadn't had a period in 7 mos.

I was diagnosed with PCOS and the Dr. has been working with me to help me conceive. I am currently on Metformin and I will start Femara soon. When I mentioned my weight to my Dr. he said it was a secondary issue for him. Is it ok to be obese and pregnant? I have read varying opinions form advocacy groups and others.

Would my Dr. be helping me TTC if this was unhealthy?

Baby Bump

I have PCOS and weight 275lbs. I am working with my GYN to start a cycle of Femara - hopefully on Tuesday. My Dr. hasn't said anything about my weight and doesn't seem terribly concerned about it. If I do get pregnant will I ever have a baby bump and if so about when does it appear?
