Am I ovulating?

I just had my left ovary removed in July due to a tumor that grew around it and caused necrosis to my fallopian tube. My surgeon suggested I go on birth control to stop ovulation to lower my risk of it happening to my right ovary. I have gone back to using the Nuva Ring but each month I am cramping (sometimes with a few spots of dry blood when I wipe). Does this mean that I am still ovulating even though I normally have heavy periods and am not any more?

Trying to Concieve

I am 32, and overweight, currently losing weight and trying to conceive. I am 4 cycles off Nuvaring. Have started charting and using OPK. I have no thermal shift, no positive OPK, but do have typical eggwhite cervical mucus at expected times. Is this possible? Do you get EWCM even if no ovulation?

Dr Q..would really like your opinion on birth control

Dh and I were originally planning on not using b/c after the baby, just watching my ovulation and avoiding sex near o time and such, because we said we wouldn't be upset if I did accidentally get pregnant quickly...

BUT...

I've changed my mind.. I don't want to get pregnant again any time in the near future... I don't think I could handle two kids that close together...

I'm scared to death to get on any form of birth control because of the problems I had getting pregnant before....

I'm not comfortable with using a diaphragm, plus, isn't it less effective once you've had a baby? Dh and I both hate condoms... and I have a crazy awful fear of IUD's. I really like the idea of the pill or the patch... I'm just afraid I'll end up having problems getting pregnant again if I go on the pill

What do you think?
