New to the board

first off hello everyone :)

Let me just start by saying I have been TTC for a really long time so I'm so tired of trying that im not actively doing so every month. There is also a few other reasons that will be clear by the end of all this lol. Ok I woke up to ovulation pains at 5am. this morning. So for the first time in a long time I got up and went take an OPK. It came back positive but the bad news is my fiance works off shore and is only home a week out of the month. (another reason why I don't stress myself with OPK's and such every month) Any who, this is the reason I am so down today. How am I suppose to get pregnant if hes always gone? I know it's his job and it's what supports us but having a child is the most important thing to me and I just don't know if it is to him. I have tried to think of so many ways around his job but I can't come up with anything. No matter what I just cannot do it without HIM. I know there's a way to reserve his sperm but that is definitely not in our price range. I'm only 24 and most people would say I am still young and have time but I don't feel like that. I feel as though i have wasted enough time. I just don't know where to turn anymore. I can do everything possible, take my temps, OPK's, prenatals, ect, but it all means nothing if hes not here during 'O'. Oh well maybe its just not meant to be I guess. Well thanks for listening if you stayed long enough to read this :)

Hello everyone, newbie here.

I took a OPK 7 days after my period and got a positive. I am now 12 DPO, when should I start testing? I seem to ovulate extremely early, my cycles are averaging 26 days. I remember with my son I took an OPK just 8 days after my period.

I'm trying not to get my hopes up because I tend to do that all the time. But I was crampy 7DPO, and my bb's are a lil sore. I hope this is it!

2nd Opinion for Chelsea

I went to the 2nd opinion appt and my DH went to the Urology appt and we learned a lot, separately, lol.

My DH had another SA done only to find out that all of his stuff is either at normal or slightly above normal, including morphology. When he had the one with the RE he had a 1% morph on the strict kruegger scale. Apparently, my doc stopped sending people over there cuz they were WAY to strict and everyone had a morph issues. LOL!

I talked for over an hour and a half with her in my appt. Now, she is the OB that delivered my son 10 years ago and just loved her personality, I remember her saying all chill “just push when you want” and “not so hard, slow down” and he was a 9 pounder and no tearing or cutting where I was cut with my 6 pounder before that.

Anyway, that was off the subject.

I was going to her to question the whole “donor egg” thing. She also found it strange that nothing would be said until after the 2nd IVF cycle and after I asked if maybe there was something wrong with my eggs. Why not say it during or after the 1st IVF?

She said she will be as aggressive with the IUI as I want and she will let me take Gonal-F instead of the Follistim (my insurance will cover more if I use Gonal-F). She said that if I get tons of eggs I have the option of going to IVF or taking a chance with the IUI. I liked to hear that, I don’t want to play around - I want to be pushed and I want to know that we are on the same page.

Emotionally and mentally I am not ready for another round of IVF and I havnt given up on my eggies just yet.

I found out that my insurance covers a total of 6 IUI’s and $30,000 in IVF so we can do another 4 IUI”s under insurance w/out it wasting the IVF money.

I will now wait for AF to show, I think in like 5 or 6 days and then go in for b/w and u/s and then if I don’t have any cysts then I will start on injectables and if I do have cysts then I will have a lap done to see if there is anything going on in there that we don’t know about.

Im glad that we had a plan and Im very glad that I got to take these few months to just take Clomid and not be at the doc every other day for b/w and u/s. I needed to take back my life somewhat.

Im still gonna take the remedy from Blair and stay away from the fried foods, soda and coffee just cuz I figure it’s a good thing to do.

I feel good about this - however, i felt good about the Clomid too so who knows if thise will work. We will do the IUI twicew and then re-think what we will do about the donor egg or one more round of IVF for me.

New to the site...

Hi...Im new to the site. I just turned 32 in June and having been trying on and of for several years to conceive unsuccessfully. I decided a couple of months ago to get a little more serious about it. I've been using the clear blue easy fertility monitor for 2 months and have yet to receive a "ovulation" reading..tho I believe I have ovulated. I have breast tenderness..back aches..the whole nine yards. My periods have been irregular as of a few months. Once 28 to 30 day cycles...they have run into 40 + days the last couple which kinda scares me as this is not normal. Saw the doctor back in March for bad back aches and had an ultrasound done which revealed my problem to just be painful ovulation. Anyway..I've noticed the spotting between my periods over the years...usually after sex and I was wondering if this was normal?? I just spotted last night...August 3rd...July 29th as well I believe and a week or before that. It just has me worried so I thought I'd ask if this is normal. Thanks for any help...and baby dust to all.

Angie

changing doctors

I am in the process of moving and will need to obtain a new ob. By the time I move I will be about 7-8 months pregnant. I have been seeing an ob regularly. Do you think I will have a problem with getting a new ob since I will be so far along? Thanks

New GYN - Discussion Help

Ok... round 3!! I am heading to a new GYN! I had no luck with the first one (either time I went) so my regular physician has referred me to a new GYN in hopes of getting results.

I have been married for nearly 2 years (dated for seven 1/2 before that)! I went off the pill in June 2007. I have not had a mentstral cycle since then. My husband and I desperately want to get pregnant.

My first GYN just wanted to give it time, which is crazy since I wasn't ovlulating... therefore there wasn't a chance of getting pregnant! I explained my frustration to my Gerneral Practitioner who referred me to the new GYN!

I would love some advice from you all in order to help me be direct with the new GYN! I have concerns about PCOS among other issues!

I feel like I have been struggling to be heard... and just need help knowing exactly what to go in asking about! I want to see results this time (discussion, tests, treatments)!

Desperately wanting,

Rachel
