After seeing the fertility specialist....

Well I just got back from my appt with the specialist. She told me that her main concern right now is my weight... not that I weigh too much, its that I weigh too little. I have never been able to gain weight, and it runs in my family to be thin (my biological father is 6'3" and only weighs 145lbs.). She told me that she wants my calorie intake to be 2200-2500 per day and drinking ensure and Carnation instant breakfast daily. She also told me that once I quit smoking I will gain weight, but I stopped for a year a couple years back and I didnt gain anything. Does anyone have any other tips on how to GAIN weight?

Also, I go back in on Monday Aug. 18th for another ultra sound but this one they will be putting a catheder into my uterus and filling it with saline. This one is to see if the dark spot they seen in my endo lining is a polyp or if is something else. After that I will be going in for an HSG. So far that is all that I know. Hopefully all of this will work out in the end because it is pretty overwhelming right now!

Do I need an Ultrasound?

Dr Q,

My RE started me on Femara CD3-7 2.5mg. He did not request an U/S to see how my follies are doing. It seems like most of the women on here get a CD12 U/S while on Clomid of Femara. Should I request one? The only thing he wanted me to do was get a CD21 Progesterone.

Also, he did not say anything about a shot to release the follies.

What do you think ???

How is it that people TTC for years and years and years and not go completely wacko?

Im at about a year now and am at a breaking point - each month it gets harder and harder to not see those 2 lines and to stay positive about the upcoming month. Where do I pull out more strength to again take the medication that make my body feel pregnant which then messes with my head thinking that this may actually be our month and then find out that it isn’t..... I just don’t know what to do anymore.

I know that not getting pregnant is not the end of the world, I know that I still have months to try and I know that I have 2 wonderful children and a great hubby but still I end up being just devastated each month that it’s a negative. I have a great life and am a healthy person with healthy children so why cant I focus on that instead of sulking and crying when I am not pregnant?

I was trying to explain why this is so hard on me to my hubby this weekend cuz he is sad but also is ready to be optimistic about the upcoming month. I was telling him that I can deal with anything if I know there is an end but this is never ending so there is nothing to look forward to, ya know? I can handle being sick and throwing up or having a headache for months of not being able to drink tons of caffeine or take the meds for my terrible back if I know that there is an end and a reward..... each month I give up my life basically for doc apt, meds and then the last 2 weeks I feel like crap only to NOT be pregnant and NOT get a reward. Its depressing! I talked with the fertility doc today and he would like me to go to IVF, which would be fine except the lab is closed til the first of the year so I wouldnt be able to do the procedure until mid January. Its seems so far away and I feel like we are wasting time so we are going to try another IUI this month but I told him I want to drop at least 6 eggs this month - were going to go with a more aggressive amount of follistim this time around!

Ok, Im done with my sob story now - just needed to vent, thanks for reading!!

What should I do... i need progesterone

Hi Everyone I am new here.. but not new to knowing that I need progesterone. I am now 7 dpo.. from my first round of Clomid taken days 5-9 of this cycle. I am in a new city and had a new Dr. well this dr is not really my cup of tea, doesnt call me back, kind of doesnt know what shes talking about when being asked something, her staff is very rude, etc.. well basically i need to know how would i go about getting on progesterone before my period starts on nov 4.. i would hate to be pregnant and then me loose it, b/c of progesterone. Any adivce?? also when does HCG show up in a blood test so they can know the level?? FYI the dr i have now told me to wait 2 weeks after Oct 23 and then come in, well by then it will forsure be too late.. i ovulated on Oct 16-17. Thanks Everyone.. hope this wasnt TMI!!

Fertolity Treatments in my area

I am 43 and TTC for months with no luck? I live in South Orange County, Ca ?

Do the doctors take paymnents also is there a way they can check to see if I still have eggs? A lady I work with just got pregant at 41 without using anything? My mom had me at 41 I am from an hispanic race i am not sure if that matters? I have a 13,14,15 year old?

And my last pregancy was 3 years ago i had a Mis carrage? I would like to see a fertility doctor however I am not sure i can afford it?
