Possible bad HSG results?? Maybe

I had my HSG today - when I met with our RE the first time they were almost positive that my tubes were NOT blocked since we have only tried to get pregnant twice and succeeded both times. However both pregnancies ended in m/c. They wanted to see if I have a "septum" in my uterus that the baby could be implanting on and therefore not getting nutrients and so therefore dying.

Well I went to the HSG and my left tube was great but the right tube was "strangly blocked". I am so confused. The dr. wasn't sure what it was. Apparently they have to do more testing.

I asked if it was a cancer something that I should be worried about and he was fairly sure that it wasn't because I am young, but he said he needs to do more tests to determine what it is.

My question is this. How can my tube be blocked???!!!?!? I have ewcm every month and we only tried to get pregnant twice and succeeded both times!!! And I have a very regular cycle - I have never missed a period and my period is pretty regular at 28-31 days. What could have caused the blockage and should I be concerned??

I have been crying all day and this is NOT what I was expecting:( I just dont understand.

What days to take Clomid, 3-7 or 5-9?

What difference does it make if you take clomid days 3-7 or 5-9? Is it true there are more eggs days 3-7 but 5-9 is more stable?

GOING HARD!!

So I went to the new doc 2day for b/w and u/s and we are going hard! Its funny cuz I will be taking MORE meds that with my IVF cycle and im only doing an IUI, lol.

I will be starting 2moro and taking 175 of menopure (I took 75 with IVF) and 300 of gonal-f and I think I 225 with the IVF.

She knows that I don’t want to play around and she is on board! Yeah! I don’t have any cysts so I will be fine to start the meds 2moro night. Im switching to Gonal-F cuz my insurance pays more for that medication than the Follistim.

I wont be going back until next Monday for u/s and b/w and then hopefully trigger soon after that. I am hoping that this will do the trick cuz I am surely running out of steam with this TTC bullsh*t!

Trying to become a mother.

Hi, I have been married to my wonderful husband for 3 years. In about February of 2007 we decided that we would like to start a family very soon, but being naive we decided that we would wait to start trying for a couple more months so that the baby would have a "good" birthday. In Canada anywhere between the middle of April until the end of September is considered a "good" birthday. So in June 2007 we started trying for our little miracle. We learned very quickly that this was not going to be as easy as we thought. We have now been trying for our little one for 13 months, which I know is not long compared to some of the other ones with aching arms.

I have irregular cycles which makes things all that much more frustrating. My cycles will range anywhere from 30 - 45 days (I was devastated with the 45 day one), and once I have my monthly it will last for about 7 days (with spotting on either side!!). I live in a small town so the medical care available is limited and the doctors here do not know a lot about fertility. You need a referral most of the time in Alberta to get in with a specialist, sometimes even to see an obgyn and then it is between 1.5 - 6 hour drive to get to them.

I am currently on CD14 and just finished a round of clomid 50mg on days 7-11. My doctor thought that you couldn’t take clomid if you were still bleeding so he started me late... that is what I mean by limited medical care. So I guess I am in another 2 week wait, but I try not to think about it too much. I do think however that the clomid helped me to ovulate earlier, because I think I ovulated yesterday and I usually don't until CD19-20.

Sometimes my heart and my arms ache so bad I don't know what to do. It's like you cry so hard it is an out of body experience, like this person isn't even you.

My sister-in-law just had her little miracle by emerge. c-section last night. So I'm super happy for them (ttc 1.5 years, 1 miscarriage) but I still feel a little sorry for myself. They also had the first girl in 3 generations which made my husband really sad because we were hoping to be the ones to break the record. I guess we are selfish. :)

Dr Q - Low count?

Hi Dr Q,

I have had further tests which show I am ovulating so it seems we are now looking at our infertility as solely a male factor. My partner has undertaken 2 SA's which his doctor said showed low counts although never specified numbers. He has since changed his doctors and they have given him figures. It appears his numbers are 0.1 which his doctor said is very low but shows sperm so my partner is therefore producing it. He also said that it has good morphology (not sure if thats the right word but good movement) so has said it is still possible to conceive naturally although not likely. The doctor was quick to talk about donor sperm and IVF but I spoke to him about seeing if theres a possible blockage which could be restricting how much is ejaculated which he has now refeered him for tests for. What would you have done if you were the family doctor in this case? Would you go straight to IVF or would you carry out more tests? It is unknown if my partner had mumps as a child but he did have chlamydia from an ex partner - could this be a problem? We can not ask his parents about mumps as we have not told anyone we are trying

Hello Everyone & Happy Mother's Day to all the mommies out there and the mommies to be :O)

Today is cd8, 4 nights of Follistim at 75. They found a few follies on each side but two that were the ones that seem to be maturing. These two were at 15 & 16. They said my lining is getting thicker and is around 7, they like to see it around 10. My estrogen was 577. I am going to do injections for two more nights and then go back for another ultrasound and estrog.test again on Tues. Anyone who can give me some input on these results, I would love to hear what your thoughts are. Wishing the best to everyone!! ****BABY DUST and STICKY GLUE all around**************

pleeaase help !!!!

I have been ttc for 7months using ov/kits, my cycle is 32-33 days, and i have been ovulating on the 17-18th day. i have been getting sore nipples around this time of ovulation, but been making the mistake of thinking that i have already ovulated, as ive heard that you get sore nipples and bloating AFTER you have ovulated, but to later have worked out that i have been ovulating with these symptoms not after(if that makes sense??) is this normal? and is that a problem that i have a cycle that length? Also I have been getting an aching pain in my right ovary, but again thinking that it is happening soon,i workm it out that ive ovulated a couple of days later!!!

Feeling Down......

Hi Dr.Q. I came back from my OBGYN appointment crying today. I was so upset that I took the rest of the afternoon off of work because I just couldn't hold back the tears. So I went to my appointment and this is what she had to say:

Dr.B told me that she is positive that at this point in time that I am not ovualting but that she is unsure why. She does not think that this is attributed to being on the pill for as long as I was. She thinks that it may be a hormonal imbalance that started when I had that eating disorder 6 years ago. She said it is possible that it threw my hormones out of what and that they never reset themselves straight. She told me that Clomid is a good idea but that she doesn't want to go there quit yet. She told me that before we do that she wants to do a thorough checkup including blood and ultra sound to make sure that everything is all right. She told me that once she gets these results back and if everything is fine, only then will she RX Clomid. She said by the time I get in for an ultra sound until the time she gets the results it could be 2-3 months from now. She doesn't feel that there will be any great findings but that maybe one of my hormones isn't right. She said by detecting things such as this we can do our best to correct them and give us the best chance at conceiving. She told me that hormones such as progestrone are very important in a pregnancy and we want to make sure that all this is fine to help us conceive and also not miscarry. She also told me that I should do my best not to stress out about it even though she knows that this can be very hard sometimes. She said that our bodies have a way of preventing a pregnancy if the conditions aren't optimal and stress causes less than ideal pregnancy conditions. She told me that maybe my husband and I should take a break for a couple of months and just not worry about it. She hopes that just this alone may help me to start regulating my cycles on my own. I asked her about feeling dry and sticky and she said that indicates to her that there is a hormonal problem somewhere along the line.

So, basically for the next 3 months I am going to have to sit in limbo hoping that all is well and that everything will turn out right. This hurts....... I feel that these next three months are going to feel like eternity and the hard part is I feel as though I am not doing anything to help my situation. I have decided that I am going to keep on taking the Vitex that I am on right now in hopes that maybe that will help me. It is just hard to think that these next few months are going to be a waste. I am having a hard time dealing with this. My husband told me that it will be ok and we will be parents but that we just need some time. I think they are both right but the hard part is the waiting. I am the type of person who likes to be in control and when it comes to this situation I have my hands up because there is nothing I can do. This doctor was very nice and very sympathetic but she told me she wants to do this in the right order not the wrong and that sometimes doing things the right way takes time.

What do you think about how things went? Is there anything you can recommend for us to do in the next few months that would help me to get back on track.
