Clomid side effects in men

Dr. Q,

I know that this is probably a new one for you but hey I am sure you have heard it all.

My DH was prescribed Clomid by the Urologist and he has been taking it for about a month. In the past week we have been noticing that it is taking him longer and longer to climax and last night he couldn't climax at all. DH says his drive is lower and his testicles and penis has this numb like sensation when we have intercourse. He isn't having trouble with the erection part and we aren't doing anything different except using a lubrication.

Is it possible that he can be having a side effect from the Clomid? He wasn't tested for low FSH and his counts aren't really all that low. Should he discontinue taking the clomid? He says he doesn't like the way he feels during intercourse and he wants to stop taking it.

Clomid for Men

Dr. Q,

I am confused! Everything I have read says that Clomid isn't really all that effective for men. My DH had a S/A done once and I guess it was so bad he was referred to a urologist who by the way does specialize in infertility. Well the urologist ordered the results to be faxed but in the meantime prescribed Clomid. Why would he have done this? The counts were within normal but morph is real bad and liquification is not within norms. Should I let my husband take the Clomid just to "see what happenes"?

hyperviscosity

as i am looking at the report from my RE on my DH's SA i just saw on the bottom that it says "moderate hyperviscosity observed" and "sperm count may be inaccuarte due to mild clumping"

This was never brought to our attention or asked to go to a urologist..... what does that word mean and should he be tested for something?

I made him an appt at the urologist just cuz i wanted to talk with them but i would like to know what it means to our fertiliy and his health.

Thx!!

morpholgy and clomid?

My Dh has a 1% morphology *kruger's strick), motility of 73% and a tatal motile count of 130 and a total sperm count of 178 (i would assume that is 178 million since it said right next to it (10 and then a teeny tiny 6) and im wondering if clomid can help him. If it increases the total count then wouldnt it give us a better chance of conceiving if he has more sperm even if only 1% of them are good?

Thx a ton

Dr. Q or the other Dr's----Question from the DH!!!!!!!

Hi m8! We went to another gp today and we are going to return to the uroligist tomorrow to get his undescended testicle removed (it is the right one). The question that my dh has will removing it will help lower his FSH and help impove his sperm count and lowering his chances of testicle cancer. Plus his gp also stated that there could have been a infection. If this part is true would he need to get more tests done and possible meds to get the infection sorted out. When we go the tomorrow we want to have all of the infor we can. Just in case we see someone tomorrow. Thank you!!!!

Dr. Mike-DH's first appt for Acupuncture (and mine also)

Hi Dr. Mike! I just want to thank you for your help the other day. So we have found a acupuncturise (sp????) close to use and we are planning on going this Saturday (plus they do Asia herbs and meds). I just want to ask you what do we need to advise this Dr. and what would happen during our first visit. Plus how long should it take to see results? Is there any special type of Asia herb or meds that you would suggest for us. Just to remind you my dh has low sperm count and FSH of 19 and he has a undscended testicle (the right one). Many thanks. Plus just for him not to feel alone. I decided to do a treatment with him...what should I be asking and looking for:))))...we are a bit on the nervous side and just want to make sure what will happen:))))

Let's express our love for the man in our life!!!!

OK guys I'm just being silly but my DH is working very late and I miss him so much. I think it is time to express how much our DH's or partners (if not married) mean to us. My dh is just a super wonder person inside and outside. I'm so grateful for him and just miss him.
