BFP! After September Miscarriage

Well ladies... I've posted on other posts... but I thought I'd start my own BFP post. :)

I am 11DPO. This is my 2nd cycle after my D&C with no meds :) My miscarriage was on 9.12.08 lost the baby at 16 weeks. Had originally conceived on my 2nd round of Clomid... but doctor thought I'd get pregnant on my own in the next 3 months... and I did.

I hope my story will give all of you inspiration. It will happen for you.

I almost feel guilty that I got pregnant so quickly after my miscarriage, cause I know all of you have been through SO much!

Due July 27th 2009.

Please help...why is my cycle changing?

Does anyone know what could be causing changes in my cycles? Specifically, I used to bleed about 3 days with spotting for a few days after, but for the past couple months I spot for 1 day, bleed and spot for maybe 2 more and that's it. Also, my cycle has been 28 days for years, but now it varies from 29 to 33 days, doctors say the length is normal but why the difference? I ovulate day 14 or 15 every month.

Different drug levels for laboring...

Ok, so my #1 baby was a little shocker, coming at 35 wks...and I totally didn't want an epidural, neither do I now. But after 50 hrs of laboring with him, I opted for 'something little' and I got Nubane. So that made me extrememly sleepy, could hardly keep my eyes open.

My question is...is there anything lower level than Nubane that won't make me sleepy? I'm hoping all natural but you see how that went last time :)

Thanks!

Expired Meds?

Hi,

I have 4 boxes (20 vials) of expired Menopur (expired April 08) that is unopened and stored at room temperature. What are your thoughts on my using this? I'd hate to spend big bucks on news drugs if the chances are this is still fine. What would be the pros/cons? If it is going or has gone bad, what would that mean (no effect, less effect, or potentially harmful effects)?

Thanks,

Lynn

Dr.Q or anyone who knows can you use opk after trigger?

Ok I know this sounds like a dumb question, but I'm just super egar to test...I'm such a poas addict lol! I was wondering if I took trigger shot @2am on the 12th on cd11 if I can use opk to figure out when I O since my dh will be away the 16th-19th. I know the shot makes you ovulate 24-72hrs later right? If I did an opk would it be throw off by the shot and give me a false result? Also when is a good time to begin using hpt after trigger...so not to get a false positive? I have gotten false positives on hpt before from trigger. Thanks in advance for answers!

Hello Dr Q!

Could you please tell me, can a flu vaccine shot or any (OTC like tylenol, ranitidine, omeprazole) influence a SA done a few days (3-4) later?
New to IVF with questions, please

Hello doctors! I need some help, don't mind which doctor answers.

After another (3rd) failed IUI, it has become painfully clear that my husband and I will have to do IVF/ICSI, likely in early November. However, I have some concerns about all of the meds necessary, and I'm probably more nervous than most women. Specifically, I'm afraid of getting OHSS, or some other medical complication (twisted ovaries, blood clots, etc.). I've shared my concerns with my RE, who told me that he'd put me on a lower dose -- 150 (not sure what the measurement is -- I think iu).

Will this lower does lower my chances of OHSS and/or complications? Will I still have a good shot at a successful pregnancy without ending up in the hospital? I'm 35 years old, checked out OK across the board. My DAy 3 labs are: FSH/7.2, Estradiol/32.5.

Please advise.

Thanks much!

Trying to Conceive

Me and my husband have been ttc for over a year now. My doctor referred me to a fertility specialist. We got so excited and hopeful, but when we found out how much the treatments cost, we decided we had to wait. (my insurance does not cover infertility treaments)

I've had irregular periods since I can remember, and that's the only thing wrong with me. I am on Provera for this month, so far so good. What could be my next step after Provera? Do you recommend fertility meds like FertilityAid and FertilityBlend? Please help!

Meds in the fridge or not??

I just want to make sure it is ok to have had my meds in the fridge and then take them out. I know that the follistim, lupron and menopur must be kept in the fridge. My progesterone oil and the novarel powder to mix with the solution has been in the fridge for 5 days. Should I take it out now, is it ok to take it out once it has been in the fridge? THANKS!!!

Looking at IVF/ICSI by September

Hi Dr. Q,

As you may recall, we're likely going to have to go to ICSI to get pregnant, as we've already had one failed IUI, and we're going to try one more, just to see if DH's sperm values improve. But we're prepared for the prospect of doing ICSI probably in Sept/Oct.

As you may remember, I'm scared of taking all of the fertility meds for fear of complications such as OHSS and other side effects. I'm 35 years old, all day 3's and blood work/hormones normal. The reason we're doing ICSI is because of a moderate/severe male factor. My FSH on Day 3 was 7.2 and Estradiol was 32.5. I also had an antral follicle count of 10 about 2 months ago.

Based on the data above, do you think I'm at high risk for OHSS? Do you think I'll have any probs with the meds?

Many thanks for your input!
