What are the possibilities of conceiving with low sperm count and low morphology?

We have been trying to get pregnant for the last year. Recent tests show a low sperm count (last test - count 34.5mil and morphology 9%). Curious how much we will have to go through to start a family.

Is it possible to get pregnant naturally with sperm count of 11 million?

My DH and I have been trying for 12 months, had initial checks that show I am ovulating normally. His count is low at 11 million, but motility and shape are fine. He is 35 and I am 32. Is it possible we will conceive naturally?

Looking for IUI success w/ male factor infertility...

Hello all. I'm new here (not new to TTC) and was looking for uplifting stories of IUI working w/ low counts. I'm 26 and dh 28. We started trying in Aug 2006 (timed intercourse b/c my dh had to stop taking some meds while TTC). In Jan 2007 my period was 18 days late, home test neg, blood work showed HCG 10. MD called it chemical pregnancy. Later that year we did Clomid and Progesterone for 6 mos from OB. No luck. In May 2008 we started seeing RE. DH found to have low count of 4million/ml. Varicocele discovered. Surgery done to repair. MD said we had 75% chance of conceiving naturally withing a year. So we waited, and waited, and waited. I had an HSG and tubes clear. Laparoscopy done showed minimal endometriosis and bilateral adhesions on each ovary. Sperm count came up to 17million/ml. Good morphology and motility. In Oct 2009 we did 1st IUI w/ clomid and ovidrel, 2 good follicles, and 7 million sperm put back. CD14 BFN. NOV 2009 we tried IUI again, 1 follicle, 6mill sperm. CD 14 - BFN.

We took DEC and JAN off for emotional and financial reasons. I go for my CD12 US tomorrow. My MD really doesn't encourage jumping to injectables, but I'm getting frustrated. Any success stories similar to my not-so-successful story??? Are injectables the answer? IVF isn't an option for us right now.

Post wash sperm count for IUI

I had IUI yesterday. I had 3 mature eggs and my husband had 3 million sperm after the post wash. I didn't think about asking the doctor if 3 million was a good number or not yesterday but of course, I'm thinking about it now. Any information will be appreciated!

We've been trying for over a year, i have PCOS and my husband has had two sperm tests, both with very different results:

1st test

observed expected

volume 11.51ml >2ml

pH 7.4 >7.2

sperm concentration 22m/ml > 20m/ml

motility + progression rapid 62% at not given hrs >50% 3 0r 4

progression 3+4 >25% 4

Abnormal forms 88% <85%

2nd test

observed expected

volume 8.8ml >2ml

pH 7.7 >7.2

sperm concentration 14m/ml > 20m/ml

motility + progression rapid 34% at not given hrs >50% 3 0r 4

progression 4 >25% 4

Abnormal forms 85% <85%

First test everything was ok apart from the morphology. Second test morphology was better but his count and motility were way below average! Is this common for tests results to be so different each time?

We're now not sure whether what to do next and if he has a problem?

Will we be able to conceive naturally with these results?

Any advice greatly received please!</85%>

IUI, husband low sperm count, pregnancy

Hi,

I am 31 healthy female and my husband who is 45 has a low sperm count.

He underwent a vasectomy reversal in June 2007 and 5 weeks later our daughter was conveived - 1st try. She is now 19 months old and we have been trying for a second baby for over a year.

My husband underwent a sperm analysis and his counts are now low. We tried 1 iui and it did not work. Do you think it is still possible to get pregnant with iui or should we move on to another method?

Wat do we need as precautions for Varicocele surgery?

As mentioned in d prev quest..my hubby has very low sperm count (<4 ML/sample of 5 ML). We tried Lycopene tabs/Vit tabs as suggested by his urologist but even though the head/tail defects came dwn significantly, there was no change in the overall count. We wr suggested to get a 2nd opinion and we did. He has a left Varicocele but the surgeon said thy need to cut it in both rght & left side to correct it...we r plannin it in d last week of this month. I wanted to know wat all we shld ask d doc abt in such case and wat all precautions shld we take. Also, d doc said there r no guarantees but we will still take tat chance...any suggestions on this or alternate therapy? Should we worry on the sideeffects etc? Thanks all in advance.
