Length of LH surge?

HI

I can usually get a good strong OPK+ on day CD14 or CD15 but this month i have only had a VERY VERY faint line on CD14.

What does this mean?

IUI to early??

I got my LH surge on tues around 4pm and had an IUI scheduled the next day at 9am. Did I do the IUI to early in the morning or should I have waited to do it in the afternoon?? to my understanding washed sperm only survives in the uterus for 6-12 hours. Was my IUI to early??

LH Surge before trigger shot???? HELP

I have an IUI scheduled for Saturday morning. I was instructed to take my trigger shot tonight. I'm on CD13. I kind of feel like I'm surging now... IF I surge now, won't Saturday be to late for the IUI? I asked my RE earlier today if I did surge before I take my shot what that meant. She said it just means you ovulate earlier. Again though, wouldn't Saturday be too late then? I'm so scared I'm going to miss "perfect timing"... And we can't BD as you have to stay abstinate for a certain amount of time before the IUI, i'm so worried.

LH surge

I usually get a positive LH surge day 12 of my cycle in the late afternoon. Would it be best to do an IUI on day 12 in the morning or day 13 in the morning. I just don't want to have the IUI to early on day 12 and to late on day 13 thanks for your advise. Oh, and my IUI will be given without any types of medication or injectiables.

I'm trying to understand why my ovulation sticks will not show a LH surge when my RE gave me my HCG shot last night? Is this a sign that something will be wrong tomorrow for my egg retrieval?

lh surge and opks

My RE thinks I may not ovulate monthly, because my estrogen is elevated. I told him when I have used the OPK's I get a positive. He said that doesnt necessarily mean your ovulating or releasing an egg, just that your pitutary gland is releasing the signal to do so. I hope I'm explaining myself correctly and remembering what he said.

High FSH/LH Levels

I'm really scared and feel pretty ridiculous. I got my lab work back today and my FSH level is 110.2 and my LH level is 55. Apparently that puts me at the "post menopausal" level. I haven't had a period in 4 months and I'm only 27. My husband and I would really like a baby. Is there any chance and, if so, what do they usually do with patients like me? I have been referred to an infertility specialist by my PCP, but it will be awhile before I can get it. Thanks.

hCG vs LH showing up on test strips

Docs:

I asked my OB/GYN this question and he was unable to respond.

Knowing that hCG and LH are "cousins", and that hCG can show up on OPK's, I'm wondering how long it would take for Ovidrel to enter the bloodstream and exit kidneys in high enough concentration to trigger a positive OPK?

That leads to another question. IF I were about to ovulate on my own and had a positive OPK, and I took an Ovidrel shot, would I still ovulate on my own, or would the Ovidrel kick in and delay my O till 36ish hours later?

Alright, final question: This month, I did Clomid 3-7 and Monday, I had a 20mm follie on my right side. Doc had me take my shot that night to prepare for IUI on Wednesday. I get how all that happens.

BUT, let's say I were doing this without the follie studies. I did not have a postive OPK till midday Wednesday (not sure if it was my LH or the Ovidrel showing up, hence the previous question)... I'd have called the doc the first day I had the positive OPK and had an IUI the next day, right? Does that mean that I would have naturally ovulated a day later than what I did with the Ovidrel shot (at least this month anyway)?

Thanks so much for answering my questions... we hopeful mommies sure do appreciate your expertise!

----

To everyone reading this, please hold your comments till after a doc responds. My question didn't get answered last time, and I'm guessing it's cuz someone else tried to answer the questions. Thank you bunches! :-)

Stepping Onward Towards Answers

Well ít's officially 135 days since my last period. My dh and I have an appt with a RE on Sept 18th/08. Today I picked up my husband's kit from the lab for semen analysis..mmm yummy! On Sept. 9th/08 I go for a transvaginal ultrasound and also a regular pelvic ultrasound so I have to drink 4 large glasses of water before it...had 2 blood draws that showed low progesterone high testosterone and high LH/FSH ratio. The countdown is on until we can find out the path of how to get a wee one into our lives!

Several days of + LH testing?

So, my OB/GYN couldn't answer this...

I usually get 3 days of + LH tests. But since most women only get 1 day, it's easy for them to know when O takes place.

My temp usually doesn't rise till after the last day of + LH testing. So, does that mean that my O is on the LAST day of + rather than at the beginning?

I know it's important to BD all during the +'s but since hub has ED, we have to time things a little more accurately or he might not be able to perform.

Whadya think?

ovulation predictor tests

Hello,

Does an opk test turn negative before you actually ovulate? Mine was negative today (thursday). I had an u/s on Tuesday and my follicle was 22mm and uterin lining was 11mm. The nurse guessed I would ovulate by thursday. I didn't bother with the opk's because of the ultrasound. But I have not had a thermal bbt shift, so I know I haven't ovulated yet. I took an opk today and it was negative. I'm guessing that my surge already happened, and wanted to see if it's normal for those tests to go back to being negative before ovulation occurs.

Thanks!

infertile? fertile?

I have been off of birth control for 19 months and we have been trying to get pregnant for over a year. I haven't really been charting my cycle, but have had a general idea as to when I ovulate. I have tried an opk twice (which raises another question-my LH surge was 8 days long. what does that mean?) My periods are usually between 28-36 days long. Is it time for me to call my doctor, or do I wait it out a while longer and just keep trying?
