Level 2 ultrasound and down syndrome

I was told im at a risk for having a baby for having DS. Im choosing to wait to have the level 2 u/s before I do an amnio. Would the level 2 pick up markers for down syndrome and put my mind at ease? I know its not as accurate for ds as an amnio but it does give something idea right?? Am i correct?

Is 80 a good progesterone result on day 21?

Last month I took clomid 150mg and ovulated with it, having failed to ovulate in previos cycles at lower dosages! My day 21 progesterone results were 80 which I thought were good but I have read someone say that theirs were 190, so now I am confused were my results low then and will that affect me getting pregnant, what is a good number?, I am going for day 18 bloods tomorrow! And then day 21 on Monday. I hope I will ovulate with it?

Is it normal to have an hcg level lower than 50 at 15dpo?

Hi Doc & ladies

I tested on sunday (12dpo) with a hpt of 10miu and got a faint bfp. Tested again on monday and got bfn. Tested on tuesday(14dpo) with FMU and got another faint bfp. Today i tested with another hpt brand with a sensitivity of 50mui (but not with FMU) and got a bfn (sorry hard to keep up i know!).

I figure i was/am definatley pregnant but wonder if it could be a viable pregnancy if my hcg level hasnt even reached 50 by 15PO?

Any advice is appreciated :)))

Can one TTC with normal menses but elevated TSH and a normal T4?

Drs,

I had a TSH and a T4 done on CD7 of my cycle. I have had very normal and very regular 31 day cycle the last 7 months post delivery.

My TSH came back as a elevated at 4.790 and my T4 per the nurse was normal.

They said they would like to see TSH below 4.5.

Ive had my TSH tested often every year and is always 2.7ish

I have fixed an appt with the Ob tomorrow. But I have already TTCd this cycle and Iam a bit concerned.

Would it be ok to TTC with this elevated TSH? If so any risk to the fetus? Im particularly worried about birth defects, one of my friend found out she had thyroid defects after she had a baby with DS.

Thank you!

I'm doing my 1st cycle of gonal F 150. I had US and BW today and i have a few small follicles on both sides (that will hopefully grow) The RE called me that he's concerned. I think my estradol level was 158. What exactly does this mean?

low progesterone levels and trying to conceive

Hi, I am a 28 year old woman who has been trying for a baby now for nearly a year & still no luck. I have recently been to the doctors for some tests & they all came back good apart from my progesterone level which was at 3.4, and I have been informed that 30 in the average level? I had my period on the 27th Dec 2008 & had my blood tests on the 20th Jan 2009, my cycles are pretty accurate roughly around 4 weeks plus a few days. I am currently 1 week late but have done 3 pregnancy tests which all say negative. I have asked my doctor about any kind of medication I can go on to help me, but he cannot give me anything & said that I need to wait to be referred to a specialist. Is there anything I can take? And as my level is so low what does this actually mean?? Any help & advice would be much appreciated.

Effects of very high e2 level on day 8 of IVF?

This is my first IVF cycle, and I'm concerned about the very high e2 level from my bloodwork today. On day 3, my e2 was 46. On day 6 it was 554. Today, day 8, it shot up to 2,077. My RE has taken me off Gonal-F and started me on Luveris in its place. What is the difference between these drugs, and is this going to decrease the chances of the IVF working this cycle? I'm terrified of OHSS and worried that something is going wrong. Help?

Can you tell how many eggs were released based on progesterone levels?

I had my progesterone tested on CD 26 and it was 123.73! The nurse said this was very good and I should take a HPT if no AF by CD32. My questions is, from that number, can I know how many eggs were released? Does a higher progesterone number mean you had a higher chance of conception?

I am just curious about your estrogen levels prior to trigger shot for egg retrieval.
Elevated Estrogen Level

Dr. Q, Last month CD 3 BW revealed an FSH level of 20 and a normal estrogen level. When I spoke with my RE about this he told me (as you said he would) that I have lowered or diminished ovarian reserve but not premature (I'm 32) ovarian failure because I still get a period. Based on my test results though, my IUI cycle was cancelled and I was told to come back for more BW next cycle. If at that point my FSH was still elevated we would do IVF. If levels were normal then we would proceed with IUI.

Today CD 3 BW came back with an FSH level of 6.4 and an estrogen level of 151 (These results are more in line with my past cycles in which no cysts were found). Now my treatment options are once again up in the air pending an US tomorrow. I have faith in my RE and his staff but all the waiting to undergo treatment is getting to me. Do you have any insight about what treatment options I'll be given this month?

Low estrogen level during IVF cycle

Hello, Doctors and the wonderful ladies of FT!

So I am in the middle of an IVF cycle. I am on Day 6 of stim. At the baseline bloodwork, my estrogen level was 24 and on Day 4 of stim, my level was at 94. Then today at Day 6 of stim, my level came down to 74. Nurse called and told me to increase my follistim to 100units (from 25units) and continue with 75units of menopur and 20 units of Lupron.

Do you think that with the increase in follistim, my estrogen level will increase? I am thinking that this may delay the egg retrieval....which is currently set for 11/17 (tentatively of course)

your thoughts are greatly appreciated!

High HCG levels

I took 2 cycles of Clomid (doses were 50 and then 100). Now I'm pregnant, which I'm very excited about.

The first day of my last period was 4 wks & 1 day ago. My blood test this week reported an HCG level of 125,000. I have an ultrasound appointment next week, but in the meantime, I'm very nervous about the cause for the elevated level. What is the chance that I am pregnant with twins? Triplets? More?

Thanks!
