Is this a short luteal phase with injectables/IUI?

Hello. I've done 3 rounds of injectables (follistim/ganirelix/hcg) with IUI. After the 1st 2, I had a lap which showed stage 2-3 Endometriosis and it was all removed. Each time, I get my period 11 days after IUI, 13 days after trigger. Is this too early? Is this luteal phase too short? Is it at all possible that I am Oing before I go in for my IUI???

Who is starting a new IUI cycle with Gonal -f ?

Hi there Ladies,

Anyone at the beginning of a new cycle who wants to join?

I just started a new IUI cycle, cd 03, and I had a baseline u/s this morning for my 2nd IUI, (the first one failed) and everything looks OK, so we'll see what happens next.

I am considering IVF in the future, fortunately the insurance covers most of it but we'll see...hopefully I won't have to go through it but I am getting prepared anyway. I am 39 and belong to the "Unexplained Fertility" category so IVF might be a valid option for me.

I am trying to stay positive and don't be stressed anymore, and I actually feel much better now than 3 mo. ago, at the beginning of my treatment when I was a total mess.

Good luck and tons of baby dust ladies !

First IUI with Gonal-F was a success!

We were TTC for going on 4 years and went through our first Gonal-F plus IUI last month... and I'm now expecting twins! I can hardly process this information right now. So many years of nothing have left me kind of numb to this. :)

We had an u/s yesterday (5 1/2 weeks) and one is still too small to see the yolk; the other one was so clear. B/w came back and my beta is doubling at a quicker rate than expected for a singleton. I'm going in for another u/s next Tuesday and hopefully will be able to see the heartbeats at 6 1/2 weeks. Woo hoo!

The nice part is that, while our families knew we were pregnant as soon as we did, we now have this "secret" of twins, so we'll still get to surprise everyone when the time is right. Seems like it might make for a good Christmas gift to the grandparents.

I went into this whole process without much hope, but I'm so glad we did it despite all the stress and needles involved!

Sperm sorting for gender selection?

I want to know where in NY does gender selection for IUI and IVF? Does anyone know of more than one place and what were their prices are? I will be using my RE's office for my HSG 1 cycle before I do either IUI or IVF (since I had an ectopic before I need to check my tubes and I will be using this office for this definitely). I want to try and stay at the RE's office I'm at currently and possibly just use another office for the lab aspect of the gender selection or I could transfer, but I rather not because I'm not liking the having to re-spend the consult fee costs w/a new place. I do not want to spend the money for multiple places initial consults if I can avoid it. I'm already self-pay for the entire IUI or IVF as is. Thanks!

do we have a good chance of conception with IUI if I have PCOS, small cervical opening and high prolatin levels.

I have PCOS, a very small cervical opening( scarred from prev. surgery) and high prolactin levels. am on bromocriptine to lower prolactin (its doing that job) I also did clomid d3-7. ultrasound on day 12 showed 3 follies. on right side 27.5 (heard this is too big or there cld be 2 eggs in there) and 12.7. on left side 9.2. I did trigger shot HCG and 36 hrs later had IUI. husbands sperm count was 16.9 million and 97% mobility.

Confused by nurse, Is this sperm sample good?

Ok, I just got to thinking.... Had an IUI last week. At first, nurse came in and said that DH's sample was 20 million in count with 49% motility which is considered normal. Then she said, it was Grade C. I didn't know what that meant so I asked, she said, and I quote, "It's not THAT bad."

However, when the doctor came in and did the IUI, he looked at my charts and said and I quote, "20 million with 49% motility, This is a REALLY good sample."

SO, Who do I believe? The nurse who said it wasn't great or the doctor who said it was really great?!?!?

AND If it is Grade C, what are the chances of it working with the rest of those numbers. I had 5 really good follies.

Please calm my fears. THANKS!

Could I have a negative opk on saturday after hcg injection on Thursday at 12am

I had my hcg injection on Thursday morning at 12am. I had my iui on Friday at 12pm. Out of pure curiosity I took an opk this morning (Saturday) and it was negative, although I have been having eggwhite cm since the iui. They did an ultrasound right before the iui & said there were still 6 mature follicles. This may be a silly question but this was my 1st iui, I did have cramping & possibly ovulation pains yesterday after the iui, I'm just worried that since the opk was negative that I didn't ovulate. Is that possible??

anyone not have symptoms after IUI and was pregnant?

Hi, I am trying to have my 2nd child. I previously had IUI before my daughter but that was an ectopic. I got preggers 2weeks before the start of IVF naturally. When I was pregnant with my daughter, 5-6days before my period was due I felt twinges and and shooting sensations in my breasts. I had two IUI's a week ago. The last one being actually 8 days ago. I had pulling pain in my right ovary area like 2 days ago but it is now away. I don't really get any shooting sensations in my breasts. I know Ovidrel and Clomid can mimic symptoms but I was wondering if anyone here had an IUI with ovidrel and had very little or no symptoms and were actually pregnant. I am refraining from testing until my Dr. Appointment on Monday. I don't know if Ovidrel would give a false positive.

Thanks! Any testimonials would help my anxiety!

Can you have EWCM after ovulation?

I was wondering if it is normal to still have EWCM a day or so after ovulation? I take Follistim/Ganirelix/Pregnyl. I triggered Saturday night, 10pm. Had IUI 10am Monday morning (Suspected day of ovulation.) Had EWCM Thur, Fri, Sat, Sun, and some today (Mon.) Is this normal to have it if I O'ed yesterday? Why is this? Do those meds have anything to do with it?

THANKS!

I have low antral follicles and am now 36. When we first conceived my RE said if you want anymore children I would recommend that you don't wait more than 6 months to TTC with help due to my issues. My DH and I would really like another baby and are not sure what to do. We thought maybe trying "naturally" for a few months and then if unsuccessful then we may move onto IVF or just stop. We have not "actively" tried yet.

My question is- is my RE right that we should not wait?

Should we try naturally?

Should we skip natural and go straight to IUI with injections again?

Than you Drs. for your time.

Ladies your thoughts?

Looking for other first timers trying clomid and having IUI

My DH and I have been TTC for over a year now. In April I got my first BFP ever and was so excited. Unfortunetly we lost our dear child at 7 weeks and I had a missed miscarriage so at 8 weeks I had to take medication to induce the miscarraige. Since then we have been TTC and have not had any luck.

I have been doing acupunture and herbs for a year and my DH had a SA and doc says no male fertility issue but he only has 2% morphology, I'm guessing since his count and motility is high is why doc is saying no male fertility issues. Doc has suggested doing a clomid challenge to check on my ovary reserve and he said we might as well do an IUI since I will be taking the clomid.

I am very nervouse taking the clomid because I seem to be so emotionally unbalanced with all the TWWs and BFNs but each month feeling like I am pregnant. :(

I am looking for others who are going through this so we can support each other through this new experience.

Where should my estrogen level be before having a mature follicle?

I have to take provera to start my cycles so I took my last pill on 10/20, and my cycle started 10/28. I went in for ovary check on cycle day 2, everything fine. Started femara 5mg cd 3-7. Follistim 75ui cd 7 and 9. Which brings me to Friday(cd10). I went for follicle scan. I had several follicles but only 2 decent size, 1 at 16mm on one side and 13 mm on other. My lining is 5.6. My e2 level was 35.9. RE left me a messge to do another 75u Fri night and Saturday of the follistim, then ovidrel on Sunday night which will be cd 12, call on Monday to set appt for iui on Tues cd 14. I guess I am just worried about the lining and e2 levels. Not worried about follicle size because they say they grow 1-2 mm a day.

But shouldnt they do another ultrasound to make sure my lining is better and my estrogen level is where it should be?

IUI, husband low sperm count, pregnancy

Hi,

I am 31 healthy female and my husband who is 45 has a low sperm count.

He underwent a vasectomy reversal in June 2007 and 5 weeks later our daughter was conveived - 1st try. She is now 19 months old and we have been trying for a second baby for over a year.

My husband underwent a sperm analysis and his counts are now low. We tried 1 iui and it did not work. Do you think it is still possible to get pregnant with iui or should we move on to another method?
