Should I start Metformin?

I was recently diagnosed with PCOS, and I am not ovulating. I was told that I do not have insulin resistance. My 12 hour fasting glucose level was 102. What determines insulin resistance? Would Metformin help me?

Just an update on me: I go for an ultrasound tomorrow morning to see if I have any follicles. If they are big enough, my Dr. is going to trigger me. I am crossing my fingers that everything goes as planned and I don't go home from the Dr. tomorrow disappointed and depressed....I'll let everyone know what the results are as soon as I get back to work tomorrow (My appointment is at 8:30 AM Mountain/Standard time).

How big do follicles need to be for trigger shot?

My LMP was 4/30 and I started Clomid 100mg CD 5-9. Today is CD 12 and I had ultrasound done... 4 5mm follicles on left and 15.5mm and 12mm on right. I have to go back for another u/s on Wednesday (CD 14) and they will let me know when I have to give myself HCG shot (Ovidrel).

How big do the follicles need to be in order for the RE to ok the shot?

What chances for conceiving are there with a 15.5mm and 12mm follicle on CD 12?

I am also on 1500mg Metformin. PCOS and IR. 24 y/o.
