Femara with Gonal-F Injection

I have been TTC with PCOS for a little over a year. I have done one round of Femara 2.5mg with no response and one round of Clomid 50mg with no response. I went to the RE today and he wants to put me on Femara 2.5mg one pill starting on day 3, then 2 pills on day 4, and three pills on day 4. Then on day 6 he wants to start Gonal-F injections every other day. Has anyone tried this? He wanted to try this first because it is supposed to have a lower risk of multiples. That is a little bit of a concern to me but I would really just like to get to the baby dancing part. It is so frustrating to try and not even get to that part! Please let me know your experiences.

Thanks

To all the ladies who have used injectable follicle stimulation hormones. Please Help!

I have a question. When is the soonest that anyone has produced mature follicles. My first cycle where I conceived the twins was 10 days at 112.5 iu Gonal F. Now, I am on 112.5 iu Gonal F plus Menopur. On am on CD 7-treatment day 5. I have just went to the bathroom and have EWCV. I am nervous. The doc told me to schedule for Friday or Saturday. I just don't want to miss this. How much impact do you think the Menopur will have? Thanks in advance.

Upped salt intake after ovulation?

My doc said something to me 2day that I thought was strange but cool cuz now I can eat potato chips and not feel guilty! lol!

She said that she tells her patients to up their salt intake (not crazy tho) after trigger shot so that you don’t end up with a lot of fluid left over. Do you think that is something that works to keep you from getting cysts or am I reading into this wrong?

Dr. Q

I don’t know if it’s the injections or not but I bought Gas-x last night cuz the gas and pressure was terrible. I have never taken it before but it seemed to help. I am taking injections in preparation of an IUI. Im taking 300 gonal-f and 150 of menopur each night.

Does anyone else have gas while on these meds or is it something else I have it from?

GOING HARD!!

So I went to the new doc 2day for b/w and u/s and we are going hard! Its funny cuz I will be taking MORE meds that with my IVF cycle and im only doing an IUI, lol.

I will be starting 2moro and taking 175 of menopure (I took 75 with IVF) and 300 of gonal-f and I think I 225 with the IVF.

She knows that I don’t want to play around and she is on board! Yeah! I don’t have any cysts so I will be fine to start the meds 2moro night. Im switching to Gonal-F cuz my insurance pays more for that medication than the Follistim.

I wont be going back until next Monday for u/s and b/w and then hopefully trigger soon after that. I am hoping that this will do the trick cuz I am surely running out of steam with this TTC bullsh*t!

I was on daily for ivf..but now at 16 wks we are going to start weekly until wk 36 to try and prevent another premie baby. What is the difference between the daily and weekly? Are there any additives in the shot or risks?

Thanks!

Clomid vs. HCG injections

I am just about to stop my lupron depot therapy. Dr. Q told me about hcg injections instead of clomid for trying to become pregnant immediately stopping lupron. I asked my doctor and he is not willing to give me the HCG but will give me clomid 100mg instead. Is the success rate still good? Or should he be giving me a higher dose of clomid? ** I have severe endometriosis** Thank you!!

progesterone injections-blood?

Hi Dr. Q or Dr. EVA-

Tonight when doing the progesterone injection there was blood in the syringe after the shot. I remember the nurse telling us that we should put in the needle then pull back on the plunger a little and if there is blood pull out and start all over because you hit a vessel. We haven't really being checking because it is bad enough to put it in once. Tonight was the first time we saw blood inside. I thought the nurse said it would be less painful later if it wasn't in the vessel, I don't remember her saying it was actually "bad". If this happens am I still getting the progesterone I need? As always, thanks so much!!!

Who can relate?? I started my progesterone shots in my backside and have done about 4 of them, two on each side. Boy is it getting sore :O) It will all be worth it with a BFP!!!! My nurse suggested warming a cloth in the microwave and placing it on the injection site and rubbing it for a few minutes after, I think that helps a bit.

HCG injection

Dear Doctor,

Thank you in advance for your assistance. I took a series of 3 HCG injections in decreasing dosages prior to and following IUI. I am 13 days past insemination and testing faint positive on a ept this morning. Is it possible the HCG could be a cause of the positive test. The last smallest dose was 8 days ago. Thanks

Dr. Q or Dr. EVA- Starting IVF question

Hello!!!

My Dr. office set me up to take BC for 3 weeks and begin 10 units of Lupron two weeks into the BC. When BC is finished I continue 10U of Lupron and go in for U/S and blood work a week and 1/2 later--with or without a period. My question is it seems like I will have full flow today (spotting yesterday and even more this am) and if I wait until my scheduled apt I will be on day4 of my cycle and I usually go in on day 2 or 3 and begin stimulation for IUI on day 3 are things different for IVF, does it not matter if I start injections a day later in my cycle? Sorry for the long info, I did call the other day but the nurse didn't seem to think it would be a big deal, wanted to double check. THANKS!!!!

Injections

Hi Doc

I am starting injections this month. I am currently on medication to induce af and then 50 clomid day 2 to 6 then my doc is doing injection each day. I was wondering how long do you normaly have to have the injections before trigger and IUI? Thank you for your help

Side Pains

Hello. I had a BFP on Friday and started Lovenox injections that day per my RE. On Saturday I had a sharp cramp on my right above my abdomen that lasted about an hour and eventually went away after rest. Today (Monday) I had the same pain on my left side that started at 7 am and continues to come and go (it is now 3 pm). I went in today for bloodwork and my beta is at 134. I've had no bleeding. Should I be concerned? I talked to the nurse at my RE's office about it and she said it does not sound like my cramps are pregnancy related because they are up too high on my abdomen, but I've never experienced a pain like this before and am worried.
