I'm finally preggers

I couldn't be happier. The day I never thought would come finally has and its still unbelievable to me. It took us a little over 2yrs to get here. I was originally diagnosed with unexplained infertility. Not until I had a laparoscopy this past Jan. did I learn the reason for my infertility. They found stage 3 endometriosis and removed it. The first cycle of injectables after my surgery I fell pregnant! I'm 4wks pregnant today.

Need Advice

Just a little info about me before I ask my questions. I am 29 and Husband is 32 we have been TTC for 5 years. However my doctor has my infertility period at 11 years as that is how old my daughter is. The first month the Dr did a natural IUI. This month he went sraight to IUI with injectables. Is this normal or do most people start with clomid first? Husband has good counts but low motility. Also money is not an issue so I was wondering how many IUI's I should try before moving to IVF. I don't want to jump the gun on IVF but I also don't want to waste precious time either.

TTC #1

My husband and I have been ttc for 2 yrs now. I'm 25 and he is 28. He has great swimmers, no prob in that department :), but I have endometriosis, stage 2. Up until last week I was diagnosed with unexplained infetility. It was frustrating being in the unexplained category for so long, but during my Laparoscopy last week they discovered I had endo and removed it along with at cyst I had on my one ovary. I'm hoping the endo and cyst were the reason for my infertility and now that they are gone we will be able to concive. During our journey of ttc I've used 6 rounds of clomid and 1 cycle of follistim (injectables). The doc. wants us to try naturally this month and then resume our aggresive treatment with fertility drugs. After the removal of endometriosis they give you 6 months of increased fertility. And thats our story ;)

Wanna be pals? Young, PCOS, Injections and IUI

I am 23 years old. My DH just turned 28 and we have been trying to conceive our first child for 9 months. We could have had a baby by now! ugh!

I have been checked out and the only thing so far that is wrong is PCOS with a 2:1 ratio. My DH has low count and morphology per ml but he produces enough ml per sample to make his results essentially normal.

We tried clomid 50, 100, and 150mg and none of them worked. I didn't get any growth in my follicles and on top of that I had blurry vision and visual disturbances (tracers, spots) while on it. When I told my RE about it he said to stop taking in and that we would move on to injectable gonadtropins and Intrauterine Insemination. I was supposed to get an HSG dye test this month to see if my tubes were open but I will be out of town on the day that my RE can do it so I have to push it back till January. I am looking for any positive hope and advice...

Somedays I worry that I am not capable of producing an egg. I also worry about having to use the max dose of meds and only producing 1 follicle or having the minimum dose and producing 13 follicles! I would hate to pay all that money and get my hopes up just for a cycle to get canceled. I only have enough funds to try this 3 times...I hope it works...be my cycle buddy!

What causes ovarian cysts?

I just completed a cycle with injectables (Follistim, Ganirelix, Pregnyl) and IUI. It was a failure. Went in today, CD4 for ultrasound and I have a large cyst on the right ovary.

My question is: At what point in the cycle do cysts develop? Could the cyst have anything to do with why I was unable to conceive this month?

Is this a short luteal phase with injectables/IUI?

Hello. I've done 3 rounds of injectables (follistim/ganirelix/hcg) with IUI. After the 1st 2, I had a lap which showed stage 2-3 Endometriosis and it was all removed. Each time, I get my period 11 days after IUI, 13 days after trigger. Is this too early? Is this luteal phase too short? Is it at all possible that I am Oing before I go in for my IUI???

IUI #4, the journey continues...

I have been ttc for 23 cycles with no luck. I am diagnosed with unexplained secondary infertility. My dh is fine, good counts and such. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism last february but it has been corrected and shouldn't be part of the problem, but I suspect that it still is...

My treatments...6 months of clomid, 2 with IUI

1 month- follistim, orvidrel and IUI- BFN

1 month break due to cysts

and currently I am 1 day past my second injectable cycle with back to back IUIs...

I have had so many months of disappointment that I am not sure how much more I can take. The 2 ww seem to get longer and longer and the disappointment greater each time. Part of me wants to take a break, but then I feel guilty to do so because I am going to be 37 and time is not on my side. So, I keep pushing forward and hope that my BFP is just a couple of weeks away...

Anybody had a beta of more than 5 but less than 25, What happen after?

I just got my beta results and I got 17. My DR told me to keep taking progesterone and to test again on Friday.

I would like to know if anybody had similar results and what happen after. Did your preg ended in miscarriage or you were actually preg.

I haven't find any good info about 5<BETA<25. Everything is over or under. I'm the only person with a beta17. I'm so sad.

I have been TTC for 3.5 year and had 2 miscarriages, both around w6 and w5. If my levels don’t double, I’m probably heading to my 3rd Misc. I have been in fertility treatment for 10m months. I did 3 cycles of 50ml of clomid (with no luck), 3 cycles of 100ml clomid/trigger/IUI (in 1st one I got preg, ended in Misc after w5) and this cycle I did injectables, Lupron, GonalF (75, 112.5, I had 2 matured at 20, 18 & one almost there at 15 3 days before IUI), trigger/IUI. This is the 1st time I have so many potential follicles.

Anyone in similar situation?

DR: What are success rates for injectables/IUI?

I know everyone is different, but I would like to know the typical pregnancy rates for cycles using injectables with an IUI, specifically, Follistim, Ganirelix, and hCG.

I've read that 3 cycles of this combo give you a total 50% chance that 1 of those cycles will result in pregnancy. Is this correct?

THANKS!

I was supposed to be doing a FET cycle when my period arrived but it never did! Today, at 6 weeks 0 days, I saw my little one's heartbeat. Official due date, March 16, 2010. I was sick of hearing everyone say, "relax" and it WILL happen! Well, I did. I had nothing to loose since I would be doing a frozen IVF cycle next. I am so excited and cautiously optimistic!

I would like to give a special thanks to all my IVF in May girls and KAN & Rose.

I would like to give a super special shout out to Making (Expecting) Baby Anderson (Heather) who gave me the tools to succeed. She was able to do with ART techology could not!

And to KarenIsDue, ShellyM, ashmcc & *Jennifer*, sorry to keep you in suspense. If you haven't figured it out, the mystery person is me!

3 rounds of clomid.. Ovulation but no concieving.. what should we do next?

Hi Dr..

Just wondering if i could please ask a few questions. have been taking clomid ( 100mg days 5-9 ) and we have been ovulating.. later then usuall but its working. I ahve been having bloods and scans to moniter this. I feel as if we are going around in circles as we arent concieving and the side effects are pretty shocking. We were offered IUI.. but i dont know if its the right step to take. I am 25 with a history of polycysitc ovaries.. and my husbands tests were 100% normal.

is there anyway to take clomid or something simular in conjunction with other medication? I dont really want to be artifically inseminated.

Thank you

Em

Cysts vs. Follicles

Hi, I had an injectables' cycle which ended up in 6 cysts!! the doctor told me theres no need to take a month break if the cysts are not hormonally active. they tested my estrogen and then told me im good to go!

now my question is.. do these cysts mean that i did not ovulate that cycle?

and second question, how would the doctor differentiate between a cyst and a follicle on this cycle to know how many i develop with Menopur?

thanks!!

Injectables and days of stimming with PCOS

Hello all,

First time here. I am starting injectables and IUI in about a month. I have PCOS and have at least 20 antral follicles in each ovary. My doctor plans on starting very slow (low dosage) with the Follistim so that I don't produce to many follicles. Dr. Q and others, about how many days should I expect to stim? I was told up to 15 days. Does this seem average in my case? Oh, and I am 31...don't know of any other problems.

Thanks!
