Someone was just telling me to look into the meds to help one dialate, and I cant find a thing on them, probably because its not spelled the way im spelling it, Sitatech?

Do these harm the baby in any way? Make him drowsy for days after birth? Anything?

Thanks so much for answering!!!!

Dr. Q, Sitatech medicine?

Im not sure if thats exactly how its spelled, but I talked to my doctors office Monday and was talking about the whole inducing process and what qualifications need to be met for them to induce. They said I need to be 39 full weeks, which will be Saturday, and atleast 2CM. They said if im not 2CM, then they can RX Sitatech to help me dialate.

So question, how long does it take this drug to work? Just curious.

Thanks so much!!!

CD 3-Baseline Ultrasound-1.8 (18mm) follicle!-Doctors, please help!

Is this possible? Of course it is, I guess, I saw it. This was after a month's worth of birth control pills. This happened to me my first cycle and I got pregnant with twins after two packs of birth control pills but miscarried at four months. Is there a way to get suppression without two weeks of birth control pills that would be adequate? Is there a stronger type of birth control pills that won't require two months worth? I currently use Reclipsen (Desogen). I just don't want to have to waste two months during each attempt. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Ovulation Induction-Suppression Before Your Cycle Begins

Do you have to be suppressed by birth control pills before an OI cycle? What other forms are there? Is there a way to get around this so you don't have to wait 4 weeks between each attempt.

So confused and it is Friday?

I have just been to my first private gynaecologist appointment, went to the Doctor;s today as I have very irregular periods and wanted him to help as we have been trying to conceive for over a yr, as my periods are irregular. He asked me questions and prescribed the following :norethisterone 5mg to take one tablet twice a day for five days then clomid 50mg days 2-6. But having just looke at the tablets to induce a period it says in the instructions they delay a period. I am so confused and it is Friday has anyone been taking Norethisterone to bring on a period!

90% - 100% effaced

Ok, Dr appointment today, not leaking fluid like I thought, just discharge. I am now 90% effaced and in some areas 100% so lets go with 95% and still almost 3cm dilated. Dr says I won't make it to my induction on monday. I am hoping he is right. But I am bleeding from the exam, told this was normal and they heavest shouldn't last more than an hour.

I am just scared that it might not stop, has anyone else been through this?

bulging water bag question...again! :)

Hi Dr. Q! I'm so sorry to be a pest...but... :)

I had posted earlier asking what it meant when the water bag is bulging and you said it meant that my water will probably break soon and that I should go to labor and delivery when that happens.... my new question is- when you say "soon", does that mean like within the next couple days? My due date is July 14th, any chance in me making it that long? I know you arent a psychic, I'm just trying to prepare! Oh, and will sex help make it break sooner?? Thanks a bunch!

Hi,

I am 9 months pregnant and had my ultrasound in my 33 weeks to check low placenta level. It was ok but found out that the head of the baby was 36 and abdomen was 32. The doctor was little confused abt it and he has advised me for another ultrasound and told me if the growth is still like that, then they will induce me and take the baby out ASAP so that the baby grows well out by breastfeeding...

I am very worried and just want to know if everything is Ok with the growth of the baby.

PLEASE tell me.

Regards

rashi

Induction?

Dr. Q,

My husband and I are both wondering if you think that I am putting the baby and myself at risk for having a long and hard labor if I am being induced at 37 weeks when I am not dilated or effaced. We had our amnio done today and the results were 38,000 so we know the baby's lungs are developed but I am concerned with putting us both through a difficult and stressful labor. Can you please tell me your thoughts on this? Thank you so much :)

Having my baby!

Hey girls :)

I had my 36wk doctor appt today and my blood pressure was 100 over 50 but my doctor wasn't worried about it. Cameron's heart rate was good 140's and he's head down but still high up. I'm not dilated and cervix is still hard. UGH!! Good news is that because my belly is so big she is estimating he weighs about 7 1/2 pds now and is only gonna get bigger. Two weeks ago at my u/s he measured at 6lbs, 3oz. So she wants me to go in for an amnio on Tues. Apr 29th at 9:30 am and if his lungs are developed I am scheduled to have my little man on Thurs. May 1st by induction!!! I am so excited. I cannot wait and I pray that his little lungs are developed so I can have him naturally. If his lungs are not developed then I have to wait two more weeks and have a c-section because she fears he'll be too big and he has broad shoulders and thinks they would have to dislocate a shoulder to get him out. I really want to go natural but if I have to have a c-section that'll be okay. So everyone keep us in your prayers that my little guys lungs are developed and he'll be in my arms on May 1st! :)

Ways to get labor started...

Since a few of us are getting close to our due dates... and people are already giving me all the advice they've heard to go into labor....

I thought it would be fun to hear all the ways you ladies have heard to get labor started!!

These are the ones I've been told

1. Walking... b/c it opens up the pelvis and helps the baby drop down farther

2. Sex...b/c of prostaglandins in the semen, and contractions from orgasm

3.Stimulation of the nipples..b/c it starts contractions

4. Castor oil (This is supposed to start contractions too.. but someone recently toldme that you can get charged with child neglect/abuse if you get caught doing it!)

5. Walking with one foot on the curb and one foot on the street. (That one doesn't sound true to me! But.. hey.. the stuff people tell you!)
