Do gonadotropins dry up cervical mucus like clomid?

On clomid I had no cervical mucus and I even used Robitussin. Also during clomid use I had a lot of cramping/pain. Do gonadotropins cause a lot of pain as well? Having endometriosis and clomid I'm going to ask my RE for gonadotropins after trying for 22 months! And I want to ask to assist with twins/triplets. Are RE's willing to assist with multiples? Thank you so much!

I haven't come across any information about the chances of twins or more on gondatropins. Does it make a difference if you have an IUI or not? Thank you!

After 3 failed cycles on clomid and reaching 100mg, I want to try something more aggressive and see and RE. Could I request gondatropins in hopes to get twins or triplets? Or do RE's not want to hear this? Thank you!

i have blocked right tube and my docotor gave me these injections mentioned above will it help me ovluate both sides?

so it will be same as if a person ovluate who has both normal tubes?

I just finished my first month on Clomid 50mg.. I was just wondering what the injections are for.. My Dr. hasnt ever mentioned them. Can you use them while you take clomid or is that a next step.

Kelly's Journey With Secondary Infertility

Well I'm no stranger to this website but this is the first time I have posted my Journey. My issue is with secondary infertility.

After I had my daughter, Samantha, (who is 4 1/2 years old) I didn't think I would have any problems conceiving a second child. After all, even though I have always had irregular periods and my brother and I were both conceived with Clomid, I had barely been off the pill for a month before I found out I was pregnant. I was 2 months shy of my 28th birthday when I had her.

I'm now 32 and have been TTC for about 14 months. I had a miscarriage last January after 2 days of knowing I was pregnant. I don't count that pregnancy in my TTC months because it wasn't a sucessful conception. After my miscarriage, my OB advised me to wait 2 months before TTC again so my husband and I resumed efforts in April, which was my first month on Clomid. three unsucessful Clomid cycles and 1 cyst later, my OB referred me to an RE.

He determined that at the time I went to see him I was too far into my cycle to start Clomid so he had me do an HSG that month. My tubes are open and I had no structural abnormalities to speak of. My husband also had a sperm analysis that determined his sperm count is high with good motility and morphology. Therefore, I just waited for a new cycle to start to call the RE.

CD 3 bloodwork revealed a high estrogen level so I had an ultrasound but no cysts were visible. My CD 11 unltrasound revealed 1 developing a follicle and was on target to ovulate on CD 15. When I went back for an US and PCT on CD 13, however, the follicle was gone so the Doc explained that I may have ovulated early. Meanwhile, my PCT revealed no problems with sperm navagation through CM so I made an appointment for bloodwork the following week, which determined that my progesterone level was almost non-existent. Next month the RE upped my Clomid to 100 mg and once again CD 3 bloodwork revealed high estrogen but no cysts were found. At my CD 11 ultrasound though I had what looked like either a large follicle or a cyst so I was given an HCG injection and told to BD that night. Unfortunately, I started bleeding pretty heavily after that and havn't stopped yet. In response to my dillemma, I was put on birth control pills and will get injectables when a new cycle starts.

Believe me I thank God every day that I have 1 health child already but it doesn't erase the desire for another baby and the disappointment with what's happened in this attempt. My heart goes out to everyone who has had to experience infertility at any time in their life. Please tell me there's light at this end of this tunnel.

Dr. Q, my Dr. gave me one month of the MIX (clomid, menopur, HCG) the 1 month did not work and he said we can go to straight injections, is there an advantage t go with injections verses the mix as the cost for injections is much higher.

I have PCOD and have been trying to get preg. since Nov of 2006. I have taken Metphormine and other hormon pills to make me have a period and ovulate but still no luck. is it time to ask for clomide? or another type of fertility drug?

Hi, I have been going to my hospital since Jan 08 they started me on clomid which was fine then i had a lot of scans which on day 1 my womb lining was thin the 2nd day it had grown and the 3rd day it went thin again and in the end the consultant decided to abandon the cycle as they said the lining of my womb has startd to get thin they thought that i might have ovulated i took a blood test which showed i had not ovulated and now they are waiting until i come on my period so they can start using injections can you please tell me why my womb lining gets thick and thin and i also have a cyst growing now.
