What are the signs of intrauterine growth restriction?

Hi, I was just wondering what you look for when someone might have IUGR. I know I would need to talk to my doctor for diagnosis, but just curious if this sounds normal.

I always measured 2 weeks ahead in the begining and the ultrasound measured the baby about a week ahead. After about 24 weeks I started falling behind in cm. I know that there is room for error and it's normal to measure 2 cm in either direction, but when you keep falling behind after being ahead is that normal. I am now 36 weeks and have not gained any weight in 6 weeks and have fallen to measuring 3 cm behind. So at 36 weeks I am measuring 33 cm and have gained 18 lbs with no weight gain since 28 weeks. Does that sound ok. With my other pregnancies I gained 39 lbs. What do you look for with IUGR? I'm not asking for a diagnosis, just curious as to the signs to watch for.

Birth Control and side effects. varicose veins, weight gain.

I have been on Apri for more than a year now; I have gained many pounds since I started, I'm getting varicose veins, I'm tired all the time with no energy to do anything, and I can sleep all day long.

Is there any birth control that has minimal effects? I am very young and everyday since the pill, I look like I am 10 years older.

What other pill can help me prevent pregnancy without these nasty effects?

Pregnancy weight gain how much is too much?

Hi, I am currently 15W5D pregnant and at my prenatal appointment today I weighed in at 166 lbs. The thing that is freaking me out is that 5 weeks ago I was about 153lbs and 5 weeks before that I was 150lbs. The first two times I was weighed they used a different scale than today. My question is, is it even possible that I have actually gained 13 pounds in 5 weeks? I do not look like I have gained much other than in belly and boobs to myself or anyone else.

I am 5'3" and I am about a 34D in bra size. I have noticed that my breasts are heavier, but they also seemed this way at my last prenatal.

I am also worried about gestational diabetes.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

femara...weight gain? side effects?

I am supposed to start femara with my next cycle...in 7 days I should start my period. I am about 30 lbs overweight already (I gained alot of weight on clomid last year) and am scared to death I will gain on femara. What should I expect? I am 36...very good health (except over weight) with unexplained fertility (i am going to a fertility specialist now..she seems to think I ovulate too late but this is my only issue).

If it makes you gain weight, what can I do keep it from happening?

Ovidrel Weight Gain/Swollen Body

Since taking the Ovidrel injection 3 days ago, it feels like I put on 20 lbs. I am really puffy and just don't seem to fit in my clothes...even ones I wore last week fine. Is this normal? If so, how long til this stops? What can I safely do to lose this excess weight? Also, prior to the Ovidrel I was on clomid and hormones to bring on a cycle. Is all this related?

I have a child of 15mths, I have been ttc for over a yr but since having my child 15mths onld I HAVE NOT had a period, this was due to the fact I lost allot of weight but now I have gained it back and same weight that I conceived my first child.
After seeing the fertility specialist....

Well I just got back from my appt with the specialist. She told me that her main concern right now is my weight... not that I weigh too much, its that I weigh too little. I have never been able to gain weight, and it runs in my family to be thin (my biological father is 6'3" and only weighs 145lbs.). She told me that she wants my calorie intake to be 2200-2500 per day and drinking ensure and Carnation instant breakfast daily. She also told me that once I quit smoking I will gain weight, but I stopped for a year a couple years back and I didnt gain anything. Does anyone have any other tips on how to GAIN weight?

Also, I go back in on Monday Aug. 18th for another ultra sound but this one they will be putting a catheder into my uterus and filling it with saline. This one is to see if the dark spot they seen in my endo lining is a polyp or if is something else. After that I will be going in for an HSG. So far that is all that I know. Hopefully all of this will work out in the end because it is pretty overwhelming right now!

clomid and weight gain

I am wondering if clomid causes weight gain? I spoke with a nurse at the fertility clinic this mornign and she said "yes". Great eh? Something else to deal with. Well, I wonder what other sysmptoms you all have - those who are on clomid. Mine include - major mood swings - depressed, irritable, also weight gain and constipation. UHG!!!! Let's hope for a BFP soon

Typical Weight Gain at 21 weeks with twins....

Dr.Q. I was wondering what a typical weight gain would be around 21 weeks with twins. I know everyone is different but on average how much should someone have gained by this point. I have gained 18 lbs so far and am starting to wonder if maybe it is too much...what do you think?

13 weeks 3 days... Still no baby bump!

Today i'm 13weeks & 3days with baby #2. I'm hardly showing at all and what is there is not hard, but kinda squishy(obviously, my chubbers coming out). Anyway, I notice a lot of women showing around 12 weeks with there first pregnancy and that makes me feel a bit worried. Also when I wake up in the morning my tummy is close to flat and I can suck in really easily. By the end of the day I can't suck it in very well, but it's definitely not a hard tummy like I mentioned before. I know i'm a worry wart and I should be, but I can't help it!!! ;) Anybody else experience the same thing or have any advice for me? Thanks ladies!!!

I am worried....

Dr.Q. I bought myself a book about having twins and it states that by 14 weeks (which I will be tomorrow) I should have gained at least 15 pounds according to my BMI if not more. I have only gained 5 so far... I have been eating healthy (fruits, veggies, whole grains, low fat dairy, etc, lean protein) and have been staying fit by taking walks 3 times per week but am now worried that maybe I am doing it all wrong. This book scared me into thinking that if I dont put on some mega pounds soon that I am at a serious risk for preterm labour....please help...

weight gain? Dr Q?

I am currently 16 weeks and 2 days pregnant and look like I am about 5 1/2 months pregnant. I am skinny, just have a pretty big baby bump already. Is this normal, or could this be an indication that I am having multiples? I had an ultrasound at 6 weeks and only 1 baby showed up, but is it possible they missed it, or is it just that I have no fat to hide the baby I am showing a lot sooner? Thanks

weight gain concern

i hope im not the only one out there who has this concern. i am very into fitness and work out about 5 days a week. i have been working out for 6 years like this. i lost about 35 lbs around 6 years ago when i started. ever sense ive just been so scared to gain it back. (even though i have a little) but sense were going to try and have a baby soon, im worried about the weight gain. im sure that sounds selfish, but i used to have a disorder due to all of this. any advice getting over that fear?i have to work out while im pregnant or i will freak out.
