Calling All Moms! I need help!

Since yesterday Cameron has been giving me a hard time drinking his bottles. Last week he went from drinking 5, 6oz. bottles a day to 5, 5oz bottles a day and the pediatrician said that was okay since he is eating solids now.

But starting yesterday he will only drink 3oz at a time and now today only 2oz!! What is his problem???? I know he is teething but he doesn't act like he is having any discomfort with it. I rubbed orajel on his gums, he hates it, but he still didn't drink. He'll drink the 2-3oz and then just start pushing the bottle away or he starts chewing on the nipple. He cries like an hour later but he wont drink a bottle, so I feed him fruit and veggies or veggies and cereal. He now eats solids 3x a day. But I know that just because he is eating solids now, he should not decrease his formula amount. So what do I do? He won't drink. Do I call the ped?

Formula Question... Baby Feeding!

Hi Everyone!

I have a question regarding formula. Jake has been eating the Similac Isomil Formula which is their soy based formula. He's been doing good on it but I was wondering if it's bad to feed him both the powder formula and the liquid formula. We have been using both and I'm not sure if your supposed to do this. We usually feed him the liquid formula when were at home and then when we go out we bring the powder with us so we can make a bottle because it's easier. Have any of you ever done this? And have any of you used the liquid form of the formula?

formula how much & how often

Hey mommies.

My baby is just about 2 months and today she has gotten excessively more hungry. She was eating 3oz every 3hrs. Today it was 4oz every 3hrs or less. Is this a growth spurt and if she has moved up to 4oz how often or can I give her more so she will last longer in between feedings?

Feeding question for all the moms...

Alayna is 7 weeks old - at her last appointment she weighed 10lbs 11 oz (2 weeks ago)- based on that weight she should be eating about 28 or 30 ounces of formula a day...and she is. My problem is that she has a really screwed up feeding schedule and I cant seem to get her on track.... she was consistantly eating 3.5-4oz every 3 hours during the day for a couple weeks; at night she would go 4 hours. Now she seems to be trying to feed on demand and I dont know how to fix it... here is how she ate today

10pm last night ate 4.5 ounces

Today:

5:30am- 4oz

8:15- 1oz

9:30- 1.5oz

10:30- 2oz

1:30- 4.5oz

3:45- 3oz

5:15- 1oz

6:45- 4.5oz

as you can see, if she doesnt eaet at least 4 oz during her feeding then she quickly becomes hungry again - the problem is that often time she refuses to eat after 3 oz, then she wants to "top off" (lol) after an hour or two....what do I do to break this cycle???????? Please help!!!!!!!!!

P.S. I try everything else before letting her have more milk between feedings....her hungry cry (more like hungry scream) is very distinct, and I hate to let her carry on for too long.

baby throwing up fresh milk

Mommies, need ur advise on this. My kids is 10 W old. I stopped giving Breast milk and shes completely on Similac Advance. She seems to have started this new thing of throwing up milk after feeding the last 10 days. No, its not curdled milk, its just fresh milk. She used to drink 3.5 -4 Oz easily and now she wont take more than 3 Oz and that too about 20 ml or so spits up. I burp her after every oz, carry her for an hour and then lay her down she spits up fresh milk. This is very new to her. Have any of yall experienced this? Earlier, she used to spit up, really less like a teaspoon or less. This doesnt seem to happen in the night times though (or may be I dont see it coz we are both asleep). Today after her milk slightly less than 3 Oz and burping, we took her on her carseat and stroller and the milk just came out so much. Have any of yall experienced this with ur babies? Im really worried. Ive tried diluting the formula and feed her more often, but wont work. I told my Dr 3 days ago that shes spitting milk, he wasnt too concerned or he just mistook that for usual baby spit up.

Poop Strike!

So, all you other mommies... Christian hasn't pooped since Friday morning.. its now Monday night. His pediatrician said its normal for breastfed babies at his age to poop only once every 2-3 days.. but its been nearly four!!!

I've tried tummy massage, apple prune juice, pushing his legs up to his tummy, and even the q-tip coated in petroleum jelly up the bum trick.

Should i call his dr?

BABY FEEDING QUESTION, Dr. Q any advice?

Hi Dr. Q, I'm not sure if you read that baby Cameron came down with some jaundice which then turned into breastfeeding jaundice so the pediatrician had me stop bf'ing for 24 hrs to help get rid of the jaundice. Well, now the baby won't take my breast and when he does he only sucks for 5 min and then cries until I give him a bottle of formula (he drinks 3oz now). I pumped out my milk and he makes faces and spits it out but he'll drink the formula no problem. What should I do? I'm ready to throw in the towel with the bf'ing yet I know it's so healthy for him. But what can I do if he won't take my breast and then spits out the bottle of breast milk? He did finally gain his weight back but that's only cause he's drinkin so much formula. Am I a failure if I just go to formula only? My family is all saying how breast milk makes babies smarter, and not become over weight, etc. I don't know what to do.

Thanks :)

Any preggos going to use Similac??

I signed up for something with Similac a long time ago, to be honest I don't even remember doing it lol but today I got a package of free formula in the mail. I plan to keep the cans because they do not expire until 2010 lol I should have a baby by then.

But It also came with 4 $5.00 off coupons for Similac formula and they expire 10/9/08 so I know I wont be able to use them.

I thought if any of you who will have newborns by then or before could use then I could send them to you??

Just thought I would put this out there rather than let them go to waste.
