hi, doctor, and everyone!

this is for my ivf!

i had my u/s today. i have 10 follicles 5 in one i side and 5 in the other side. of dose 10 follicles only 5 are good enough for retreival, i have a 24,20,21,19,18 and the others are 10,10,13,14,16 i have my retreival on tuesday! my doctor said she dont want to give me more follistim cause she dont want to lose the big ones that we already have to try to get the other ones to grow and end up with not much to work with! she also said it was my choice to continue on egg retreival or cancel cycle and start all over again with different protocol so if i decide to continue i have to trigger today! but im not sure of wat to do im scared!:( my question is if i do continue to do it what are my chances of having a good chance of pregnancy or of have a good number of eggs to work with and also after the tigger shot can the folicles grow more or they wont grow at all i realy need the help thank you! i also wanted to mension that i im 21 years old and hubby is 23 and we both are pretty health with the only problem of not having my rite tube due to ectopic.

hey doctor, i just wanted to know if by anychance you know how much medicine is in the follistim pen vial cause i have a 300 cartiage but i used all the 300 and i still have some left and i wanted to know if u new how much was it! to re use it so i wont have to order more! thanks

im doing 100iu of follistim pen i loaded up my pen with a vial of 300iu cause it came like that so i did 100iu on friday and 100iu on saturday and 100iu today but when i took out the vial of the pen to trow it out it still has some int he vial so im really confuse i dont know whats happening i dont know if i didnt injected the correct amount or if it just comes with extra incase somithing goes wrong omg i dont know what is happing and what happens if i didnt give the correct dosage would that mess up my cycle or would i just need more time on the follistim please help me in so nerveous i dont know what i did!!!:(

hey doctor Q how are u? i have a question im doing ivf im on lupron 5 units daily i was on 10 units but they changed it to 5 units daily im also on follistim 100 iu daily i was on birth control for 21 days also my question is how does lupron work and what does it do also follistim i know that is suppposede to make the follicles grow but what else does it do and how does that work? thanks

I opened a vial of 300 IU Follistim in Oct and only used 50 IU. The expiration date is 09/2010 and I have kept it refrigerated. How long does the Follistim stay good once it has been opened?

I am going to start Follistim next cycle. I have also read about taking a supplement to help you mature an egg - soy isoflavins. Supposedly, it could work in a way similar to clomid. I am wondering if I could do these together, or if that would be a bad idea. Thanks.

Dr Q -Missed My Follistim Injection

Help...I am taking a combo of Clomid and Follistim. I have never done injections before. I was told to take my Clomid starting cd5-9 like normal but to do a 75iu of Follistim on cd 7 &9. I picked up my prescriptions on Friday (cd5) and started my Clomid. Sat down last night to watch the Follistim DVD before my 1st injection and realize the pharmacy only gave me the Follistim cartridge pack. NO PEN! So I went into a panic as it was 7pm at night. I called several 24 hr pharmacy's and none had a pen in stock. So I missed my 1st injection.

I called RE this morning and the nurse got on the phone and told me to come by the office today and they would give me the pen and I could just do the injections now on cd8 and cd10. I asked her if they would "mess" things up but she said no. I'm scheduled for u/s and bloodwork on cd11. For the past 3 IUI's I've done with just Clomid, my follies have been around 16-17 on cd12.

So is she right Dr. Q? Am I ok to be a day off?

Rates of Multiples on Follistim

Hey Dr Q & Chatters-

I am just wondering how much the rate of multiples increases with Folistim vs. Clomid or Femara alone? We are doing the modified MAYO protocol this cycle...Femara day 3-7, Folistim Day 10, US & then Ovidrel if I get a large enough Follicle. I am sure the rate of multiples increases when we are using both, but I am just wondering if anyone knows how much? Any input would be great!

Cycle Day 3 Numbers Are GOOD!

I'm so excited. I finally had my cd3 bloodwork redone. My FSH was 6.3 and my estradoil is 54. I am so relieved. With 3 failed IUI's I was concerned something was wrong.

RE has recommended a lap but said we could try one more IUI if I wanted but with some injectibles. I had planned on taking Nov and Dec off but the plan is now to do my 4th IUI using Clomid and Follistim. If it doesn't work, I am without a doubt taking Dec. off and will have my lap in Jan.

It seems to make more sense to do the lap before doing anymore IUI's but I am really scared of having a lap and just keep hoping I can get pregnant this one last try. My insurance covers my IUI's 100% so I don't have to worry about the financial part of it.

So wish me luck ladies on this last IUI journey for awhile!!! Can't wait to see how my follies do with adding Follistim.

Reasons for failed IUI's?

This was my second IUI with injectibles and I took a test HPT today (2 weeks post IUI) and it is negative. I had three good follicles and took the ovidrel shot, so why does it fail every month?

What could be going wrong?

Hello,

I used clomid for 4 days and then did Follistim for one night. U/S this am showed two follies at 22 and 23 so I will probably trigger with Ovidrel 250 tonight. My insurance no longer will help with anything for fertility. IUI's cost $495 each and my clinic does two back to back. I am wondering how much more effective IUI's are than timed intercourse when there really isn't any sperm issues. The only thing that the dr. has mentioned is that DH's sperm slows down after 24 hours. Which would be the better day if I only had the IUI one time because it is so expensive, If I trigger tonight then Friday or Sat.? How often should we be BD now that it is close to the IUI?

I am on cycle day 7 today and started Follistim on Sunday night. I took 225 UI on Sunday night and Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday took 150 UI. I went for an US this morning and no follies were there. Is it too early or is the Follistim not working.

Please help!

IUI with Injectables - First Shot

Well on September 30th I took my first shot of Follistim. Hoping for a BFP!!! On October 10th I had my IUI. It was completely painless (albeit it slightly uncomfortable) and I am looking forward to the results on October 24th!

I figured I would share some pics from my 1st shot...it wasn't too bad ladies...and I will be especially grateful if it give me my baby!

IM GOING TO START MY IVF SOON! WHEN I WENT TO IVF CONSULTATION THEY JUST TOLD ME HOW LONG THE IVF TAKES AND WHAT MED. THEY USE AND STUFF LIKE THAT THEY ALSO TOLD ME I WAS GOING TO BE STARTING ON BC PILLS FOR 21DAYS AND ALSO GAVE ME BLUE BOOK IS A MEDICATION GUIDE BOOK WITH ALL THE MEDICATIONS THEY USE FOR INFERTILITY AND THE NURSE TOLD ME TO START READING THIS PARTICULAR PAGE WHERE IT SHOWS HOW TO USE THE MED. AND HOW TO MIX WICH IS THE FOLLISTIM PEN AND THEN SHE SAID READ BOUT IT AND JUST CALL WITH A PERIOD SO I FINALLY GOT MY PERIOD SO I CALLED THE DOCTOR AND THEY GAVE ME MY APP. FOR FRIDAY 10TH AT 10:00 AND I JUST WANTED TO KNOW WHATS GOING TO BE NEXT WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT IM KIND OF SCARED AND I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THEY ARE GOING TO BE DOING TO BE OR WHAT THEY ARE GOING TO BE TALKING BOUT CAN SOME ONE PLEASE HELP........
