First Period after methorexate injection

I had a methorexate injection on September 19th and was told November 7th my levels were back to normal. My husband and I wanted to start ttc again asap. But before this last miscarriage I was put on provera to start my period and then 3 rounds of clomid and I concieved on my first round of Femara. So I wasn't sure if I would get my periods on my own at all. However I did a OPK and got a positive on November 20th. And then on November 27th about 8pm I started to notice brown/pinkish spotting when I wiped. And the next day I had more brown spotting not a lot but enough that when I wore a pad it was noticable this went on until the 30th. I was wondering if I should consider that my period? Or could my period possibly still be coming? I was thinking since I got a positive OPK on the 20th my period might show either Dec. 4th or 5th. Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Cameron got his 1st Tooth!

Yay!! Cam got his first tooth :) He hasn't been feeling that great since Monday with a rash on his body and runny/stuffy nose along with a cough. Now, I know what the culprit was...that little tiny toofer :))) Really when I think about it, this was so easy, he barely fussed at all. He slept well at night and the only thing that really changed was that he hasn't wanted as much formula at one time, but gosh, that's nothing. He's six months old and he is my youngest baby to get a tooth. My other two didn't get theirs until almost a year old or later. So yayyyyy for Cameron, he did it :)

Danyel's Journey to Being a Mommy!

OK Ladies I'm a virgin so take it easy on me ((laugh)). I read a few discussions and wanted to reach out to all of you who have either done or are about to start your IUI journey.

I finally worked up the nerve to go to an RE and recently finished all of my testing which ended in a laproscopy, polypectomy and D&C to remove endo and polyps. I still have a little endo on my right ovary but very minimal.

NOW, we are on are way to our first IUI. Had my baseline ultrasound today (NASTY..since i am on CD4), why didnt anyone warn me?? Just put in my precription for Clomid, Progesterone and Ovidrel. Needless to say, when I left the doctors office I was OVERWHELMED!! I was also given prenatals and the following schedule:

First Day of Period: 11/8/2008

Start Clomid (2 tabs 50mg): 11/12/2008

Start OPK: 11/19/2008

Blood Work: 11/21/2008

Ultrasound: 11/21/2008

HELP ME!! I am SUPER NERVOUS and biting my nails to the skin AND I WEAR ACRYLIC NAILS!! AAHHHHHHHHHHHHH

My Journey continues....

My journey continues with my first appt with the RE today at Mayo Clinic in Rochester. I wasn't overly thrilled. Not disappointed, but not overly thrilled either.

We got to the clinic at 1pm and after tons of paperwork, we finally saw the dr. It wasn't the dr. that we thought we were seeing - rather a dr that works with Dr. Jansen. He began to talk with us like HE was our dr. - all very confusing. Then he said he was going to talk to Dr. Jansen - about 10 min later both him and Dr. Jansen come and and the rest of our appt was dh, myself, and two dr's. One wasn't training or anything, they are both full doctors. It was a little strange.

Then we started to discuss what was going to happen next. They want to give me an HSG and both DH and I are to be tested for chromosomal abnormalities. I also have to do a few other blood tests to test for clotting, etc. The Dr. wants me to go on progesterone when we start trying again and continue on 1 baby asprin daily when we begin TTC again.

So then we went down to lab but had to stop off at the financial office to discuss insurance - where we learned that we need to have written approval from our insurance company for any of these tests prior to doing them - so that will take up to 30 days:( So we were SUPPOSED to get the blood tests and instead we just got out approval faxed to the insurance company.

I still havent gotten a period since my last miscarriage (just over 4 weeks ago) but as soon as I get that hopefully my approvals will have gone through and I can get the HSG done. Grrrr - I absolutely hate all of this.

The dr.'s were nice though. They said that we are not the typical patient as dh and I have had no problem GETTING pregnant - but rather STAYING pregnant.

Hopefully we will get some answers soon.

First IUI

Hi everyone! I am new to this site. Everyone seems so wonderfully supportive. Just what I need now!!

My Story: I went off birth control pill 1.5 yrs ago and my period never started again. The RE discovered I don't ovulate. I have very low FSH. She thinks its PCOS although I don't have any other symptoms. I have been on Metformin for about 1 year. Last month I did my first round of 50mg clomid with TI. I released 2 eggs (exciting since it was a low dose and my first time ovulating in years!)...but no luck.

I finished my second cycle of clomid Oct. 31 and just underwent my first IUI Friday. They think I had two maybe three good follicles. I came home from the appointment and had a good cry. I feel so discouraged. I want to believe the IUI worked but it seems every time I let myself get excited it ends in disappointment. Plus, I am still having a hard time coming to terms with needing fertility treatment to get pregnant. I feel like I am on a roller coaster...so many highs and lows. I am sure the hormones are not helping my psyche either lol. And any information on IUI process. The doctor says I should not take a Preg. Test until Nov 23. That seems like an eternity!

My husband is really supportive but I still feel so lonely in this process. I could use any support or encouragement out there.

Recurrent Miscarriage Testing

I am going in for my first appt to an RE on Monday. What can I expect?? Will it be a long appt? Will they do any testing at my first appt? Or will they just talk to me at my first one??

What kind of testing will they do?? Will I have to have a pap and all that? or will they they go by what my OBGYN sent them? Any advice would be great. I am a little nervous.

(I had 2 m/c in 2-3 months time and the Dr. said it was time to go to an RE).

Chrissy's Journey to TTC first and only :)

Hi everyone! I have been on FT for a long time now, but I have never put up a journey. Here is my story. I am 28 years old and my hubby is 30. We have been ttc since July of 2007.

As I mentioned in the title, we are planning on having an only child (unless it is twins). It will be the first for both me and my hubsband. We have been married 4.5 years and feel that the time is really right now.

I never dreamed it would be this difficult. I went on birth control in fall of 1998 and was on it continuously until June 2007. I really think this is why I have ovlulation issues. Now I am on Clomid 100mg on CD 3-7 to help my body remember how to function.

Each month it becomes more difficult b/c the longer it takes the more likely it is that there are "bigger" issues. This will be the last month we try for a while. The holiday's are always crazy for us and I don't need the extra stress or emotional craziness from the Clomid. After our break my guess is that we will be referred to a RE who will decide the next step.

I am really trying to stay positive about this month. I have always wanted a July baby, so maybe this long wait was ment to be.

My first RE visit today...

Ok, so, I'm CD 30, have had BFN's all week, but am STILL holding out hope for AF to get lost on her way to my place.

I have been seeing my OB/GYN for the last 3 months. I did 50mg Clomid + Ovidrel + IUI each of those 3 months. I ovulate on my own, so the Clomid was just "added insurance".

Hubby has low motility (40%), presumably caused by high white blood cells. And, after 2 months on 2 different antibiotics, they are WORSE, not better.

My doc says: well, clearly, this isn't working, so we need to be more agressive with my drugs. He wants me to hyperstimulate with either higher doses of Clomid and/or addition of Follistim injectables. Continue with Ovidrel and add progesterone suppositories.

He also wants DH to do another S/A with his office cuz he said that some "less skilled" lab techs can confuse immature sperm with WBC's. Once we have those results, he'll call us and we'll decide how to proceed. If it is WBC, then DH will see a different Urologist who SPECIALIZES in fertility, cuz the yahoo we've seen till know doesn't know his a$$ from a hole in the ground with regards to fertility. WE had to call the shots. WTF?

Anywho. So, to maximize resources (insurance $$) it appears that we may be taking the next month(s) off from fertility treatments till DH's sperm issues are resolved.

Once we have satisfactory resolution to DH, I will then start taking stronger drugs.

I expressed my concern with having multiples (Gawd, I do NOT wanna be Kate Gosselin... and hyperstim + IUI is what they did) after having had 1 high risk pregnancy, being overweigh and being advanced maternal age. He told me I'd have a 15% chance of conceiving twins (ugh) and about 3% chance of higher order multiples. But he wants me producing 2-4 follies each month.

We'd left it that we'd take a few months off, but after thinking it over, I think I want to do 1 more month with my OB, then put everything on hold (to avoid a 3rd trimester summer) and pick back up in January/February. If AF shows up tomorrow, I just need to put in a call to my OB and the RE and find out what dose of Clomid I should take this cycle. After this, we'll take a couple months off.

UGH.

So, in that time, I'll be shopping for cheap drugs... insurance pays NADA on fertility meds.

Thanks to everyone who's been keeping tabs on me!

Babydust to all!

And, repeat after me:

Hale no, no Aunt Flo....

IUI Today

Hey! I am new here. We are having the first IUI done today at 2:30pm. I am not really nervous. I am actually in an optimistic mood. For some reason, I have this feeling that this will work. If it does not work, then we are not going to try it again. Too much money to spend. Has anyone been successful the first time? and do I need to do anything special after?

My First IVF/ICSI journey

Hello,

Don't really know what to write I am new to all this. I'm 30 and my husband 42 and we've been ttc for over 7 years since the day we got married! After 4 failed IUI's we are now due to have IVF with ICSI. Went for a scan today and they counted 21 follicles (don't know if this is good or not). I'm due to have the HCG injection in 10 minutes and go in for egg collection on Friday morning. I hope you will follow my journey and we can all support each other. :-)

question about 1st trimester

I am 11 weeks and 4 days pregnant. This is my 4th baby so I thought I knew all the signs and symptoms of pregnancy. So far this pregnancy has been going very well,..

Suddenly, today, out of nowhere I got this horrible lower backache and AF like cramps.. They have been constant and I feel very uncomfortable as my back is throbbing so much... This is the first time I have experienced this in pregnancy.. At least both together like this and to come on so suddenly.. Is this normal?
