Reached 33 weeks - symtoms of pre term labour????

Hi People,

Well i have reached 33 weeks of pregnancy through iui and went for my appointment to the gynac. After a physical examination she mentioned that the baby has come down and my cervical lenght has decreased from 4.1 to 3.8 cms. Since then i have been on complete bed rest and been asked to hold on to the baby till the 36th week.

Kindly advice is this really the right thing to do or the concept of pre term has been pushed into our minds.

Also what are the symptoms of preterm labour and forgot to mention that a week ago there were mild contractions but they seem to have disappeared now. Am taking tablet duadilian.

Thanks , looking forward to a response.

Regards,

Mia

fetal movement at 26 weeks

I am 26 weeks tomorrow. At the beginning of the week I noticed an increase of fetal movement. I was able to feel and see the movement from the outside. This lasted about 3-4 days in a row. Well, since the last 4-5 days, fetal movement has decreased. I feel a little something daily, mostly a little in the morning and a little at night. Definantly not the intensity or frequency. My HB monitor is still reading a rate around 150. Should the movements still be this inconsistent at this point?? WOuld you call a dr, yet or am I ok since I am feeling a little somthing.

little movement at 23 weeks

Last week I was getting excited because the baby was moving a little stronger and a little more. This week she is barely fluttering. Some days I only feel her once or twice and it is very light. Is this normal during this week?? I am trying all of the trick with oj, etc....but I am concerned with the decrease in movement.

inconsistent movement at 21 weeks

I am currently 21w2 days. I started feeling movement right on 20weeks. I seem to feel her everyday but not consistently and somedays barely at all. It seems I do not feel her during the day but, only when I get home. I've tried the OJ and cold, sweet drink but it is certianly not 10 times in an hour. There are hours that goes by without a movement. Is that normal fetal movement at this time? When does it become more intense and frequent? When should I be worried?

Can Clindesse 2% hurt my baby in third Trimester??

Hi, I'm 31 wks prg. and last friday I went to my normal app. with my ob-gyn I told her I had had some cramps the night before, and also low back pain for around 1 hour... I also had a little bit more of vaginal discharge than usual... She examined me in 1 second and said I had some infection and she gave me this med. Clindesse 2% vaginal cream... so I went and bought it (friday night) (Now I regret not reading about it first) and I just went ahead and used it that night...... then on saturday my baby was moving ok, not as much as before but not so quiet either, so I didn't think about it, but yesterday (sunday) my baby almost didn't move at all, only 3 times in all day and I'm talking about 1 small movement every time, I ate, I had cold water, I moved my belly, I put her music, I did some excercice so that my heartbeat could get higher and this ussually makes her move, but yesterday nothing worked at all....

Anyway, Im using this babyplus and usually when my baby hears the noise, she starts moving, but yesterday, nothing worked... I was all worried if the Clindesse could do something to my baby... Today she has been moving almost normal again, but not as much as before either, so, should I be worried??? should I go to the dr. today?? does any of you know if this med. can cause this decrease in fetal movement or some damage to my baby??

I have been reading about it but haven't find any good answer... Please help me if you know something about this!!!

Thank you in advance...

Dr. Q!!!!!

I went for an u/s today. The doc said he saw the starting of a fetal pole. It looked like a lil blurr on the screen. My sac measured about 5 weeks. Isnt it to early to see the fetal pole or can it be normal? My levels were 8000 if that makes a difference.

Ladies and Doc :) Question

Hi there!! Im 23 weeks 4 days pregnant, and over the weekend had something new happen- wanted to run it by you all..

I was talking to someone and the baby moved like so much in one spot- like a little seizure-(not literaly, just the only way I can explain it, and it wasnt hiccups- much faster and shorter duration) then she stopped, and did the same thing again in the same spot? Ive never had movement like that? Is that normal? She was very active over the weekend, and then today Ive only felt a few little movments early this morning while I was still in bed?

Some reassurance please? :) Thanks in advance :)

2nd Trimester D&C and attempting IVF

Dr Q.,

I got pregnant via IVF through SHER 19 weeks ago. It took 3 IVFs and 3 procedures to get this far - including a few ER visits. Unfortunately, sometime between my 15 week and 19 week the fetus died in utero. There were no signs of fetal demise for me prior to my OB apptmt. I had a D&C today and will be waiting for analysis of the tissue. This will take a month to return. (We are sending it to one of the more advanced labs in the area for a thorough analysis.) Obviously, DH and I are devastated / sad / confused / upset. We believe this will color any decision we will make on how to proceed.

Many women in my family have had 2nd trimester miscarriages and stillborns. Since I had never even been pregnant (bilateral hydros), I had hoped that I would not live through that familial experience. All but one went on to have children. I know that there are a number of things that can be done / pursued if there is a clotting or immunological factor.

My question boils down to how long before we can really consider another IVF attempt? Since I am going to be 40 in Sept. and have endometriosis in my ovaries which means that there will need to be a period of suppression before stimulation (on highest doses cause I'm a poor responder on top of everything else - DE is not really something we are yet open to), time is not on my side at all.

Hi there- I am 18 weeks pregnant tomorrow- Ive felt a few bubbling things, one undeniable tap and really nothing else much.

Im still not showing- ( I was overweight to begin with and havent gained at all the whole pregnancy infact I lost to begin with and am now back at starting weight- which IM not complaining about) but Im wondering if this is ok...

I will be 18 weeks tomorrow- and have had all excellent ultrasounds- its a girl! And I was told that I have an anterior placenta- which Im thinking is blocking the earliest movements??

Can you provided some reassurance? :)

Thank you all!!

Please help !! how fast fetal hiccups is normal?

Hi Dr. Q, and Ladies

This is not a fertility question but I'm desperate and any of you can help me... I'm 24 weeks pregnant, and yesterday around 4pm I was sleeping, when I woke up the baby started moving, and then I noticed that the movements were ritmic, like if she had hiccups, but the reason of my concenr is because this movements were so fast, not like normal hiccups, the movements were separated for like 1 second or less, just like my heartbeat and were really strong movements I could see them in my belly and feel them putting my hand on my belly too... I have read that hiccups in fetuses sometimes are normal and other times this is because the cord is around the baby's neck, and I really don't know what to think... This is the first time I feel my little one hiccups, (I pray that it was hiccups), and as I said the movements were so fast that I don't even know if they were hiccups or something else... This lasted for about 10 minutes and then stopped, after that I felt my baby moving a little around 10:30pm (last night) and haven't felt her again since then, I'm also concerned about this, since she is really active, and everymorning she is usually kicking by this time...

I would really appreciate any info. you ladies can share with me and also the doctors...

Thanks a lot!!!

Dr Q question about whilte spot on u/S on babies heart?

Could a recent intake of milk cause this..and does this sound right what this doc has told me?

The babies look great but for baby A they have found a little white spot on U/S on her heart. The Maternal Fetal Specialist says that this signifies that there is calcium that is being deposited in her heart.(notice i said her) Now this is no need for alarm. He said that my blood work came back excellent when I did the NT testing. He said the possibility for me having a baby with a defect it way lower than other 27 year olds. He says that women my age have a 1 in 800 chance of having a baby with defect. He combined with the U/s and the initial blood work I have the risk of 1 in 4000. He also told me to remember that this is a screening test not a diagnostic test and that i could do an amnio but it the risk would not out weigh the possibility of having a baby with a defect. He also said that my chances 1 in 4000 are like if i were 10 year old having a baby..so he said they are super low..he also said that he sees no other signs of any defects such as thick neck folds, fluid in the ventricle of the brain or fluid on the spine. He said that 99.9 % of these cases that they see turn out to be nothing and clears on its own and attribute it to a problem that the mom or dad had when they were younger. As he said this i remember that when i was in elementary school i had a heart issue where i had to where a heart monitor for 2 weeks and it cleared up on its own. and he said that that is most likely what it is..and my mom said this also..She said that i had an irregular heart beat and a murmur but it cleared with age. My Dr did not notice it unitl i was about 10 during a school physical..So i am not too concerend about this we will have another u/s in 4 weeks..but the maternal fetal Dr is has reassured me and i go to one of the best if not the best high risk pregnancy practice in the richmond, va area. Oh and i had a question I recently started drinking a glass of milk a day and they did not see this on my last U/S do you think this could be what the calcium came from?

So Sorry for the delay.........They are!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well I am gonna keep you all in suspense for a little longer because i have some other stuff that happened at the appt to tell!!

So okay they do this very in depth U/S where you see all parts of the body..it is so amazing..

The babies look great but for baby A they have found a little whit spot on U/S on her heart.

Okay on to the good stuff..Sorry for the supsense ladies but i was at the soon to be in laws running my mouth with them...

ITS 2 GIRLs..yes people two girls

Alanna Pilar

and Arianna Arri will be born on Nove 1 if not earlier..

Take care ladies!!

fetal doppler question for Dr.Q

Just out of curiousity why do I need my doctors approval for renting a doppler. This is what they have on there website, but don't actually require you to get the approval, but since they have that on there I feel like If I didn't I would be doing something wrong. Any ideas why they say that???

(Fetal Dopplers are regulated by the FDA and require a physician's approval. User needs to consult a medical professional before using a fetal Doppler.)

Thanks Dr.Q!!!!

The weirdest thing

So, I'm not pregnant and yet lately I've been feeling little flutters right above my pubic bone. I just felt one that was pretty strong and it truly felt like fetal movement. Seriously, what's going on? Lol, it's pretty crazy sounding, I know. Ok so a little background for you guys. My last normal Af was Jan. 12th. I had Af in Feb. but it was almost two weeks late and now for the past 2 weeks I've been spotting. Since Jan. 12th I've taken at least 20 hpt's and all were bfn. We're not even trying right now. We're on a ttc break so I can lose some weight. (I'm down 15 lbs, yay me) So, I'm going crazy and am feeling fetal movement. Someone please call the psych ward and have me admitted.
