Is it possible to conceive five days to a week before my period is due?

I think the doctors have my due date wrong. I'm supposed to be due jan 10, and they said i conceived around the 18-20th of april. The only times I had sex in April was April 27th and May 1st.

My period was supposed to be due between May 2nd to May 7th. When did I most likely conceive? the 27th of april or May 1st?

how many IUIs are too many?

Ladies, I'm really wrestling with that tough question...

When do you know it's time to move on to IVF? My RE wants to do a 5th IUI with injectibles this time, and I just have this feeling in my gut that it's time to leave the IUI world behind.

Ugh...I can't wrap my head around this fertility stuff. What are your thoughts, experiences, and comments?

How many IUIs to do???

What could be causing low back pain?

I have had lower back pain on and off for the past few years. Went to physical therapy for it years ago.

I started Follistim/Ganirellix/HCG last month (This is my 2nd cycle.) It has been killing me since right before AF started last cycle....

It's only on my right side (similar to a sciatic-type pain)

I wonder if there is any correlation to the medication or if it could be fertility related or if it is not connected at all. Any thoughts?

THANKS!

Can there be "remants" from a miscarriage 2 years ago?

I am 36 years old and have been trying for a child for 2 years. We had our first after 3 months of trying and 3 months for a child we lost at 1month. Since then have doen 2 rounds of AI then my OB found me to have PCOS b/c my LH was twice as high as my FSH. I am on Metafornin and Chlomid. Fetility Spec. thinks that is useless to take Metafornin b/c I am not over weight. He thinks next step is diagnositc surgery on ovaries and uterus. I think I agree now - but was wondering if there could be anything left over from my miscarriage? I did not have a D&C.

After 22 Years, I am Still Waiting For Babies....

When you have experienced infertility, surround your with friends that have or are experiencing infertility - and spend the better part of 22 years advocating for fertility patients - you spend a lot of time waiting for babies to arrive.

I have hoped for, waited for and welcomed my sister’s son, (conceived through IVF, my two boys (GIFT and IVF), my sister-in-laws two sons after five years of repeated miscarriages and, through the years, countless others who have entered the families of those I care about. I have listened to the myriad stories of the obstacles overcome and the fears challenged that did not stop so many in their pursuit of all the various means of family building that were available to them.

Infertility has permeated the lives of my family, my closest friends and my neighbors. Since I began my work as a patient advocate, my family of friends who are infertile has expanded, and the waiting for babies has continued. I was recently in a book store where I saw an “advent” type calendar for a typical waiting period for a child. It was only nine months long! If only that was true for all of us! The waiting, for the infertile, can be an endless circle beginning with hope, turning to disappointment, and then back to hope again. And this is how we wait.

I have waited with two very good friends for their babies. One of them is my oldest friend who I have loved since I was small. We have gotten into trouble together, we have double-dated together, she was a bridesmaid at my wedding. Infertility is something we never planned to do together, but it became yet another tie that bound us together. We shared doctors, did IVF cycles together, compared estrodials, and said “I know” to each other a lot. And mostly we waited to be mommies together. My children arrived first, and we waited together for her pain to end. I have a beautiful picture of her holding my son Spencer at his bris, her eyes shining, holding the secret, still unknown, of her pregnancy.

My other friend was at the time, my newest; the special kind that finds you when you aren’t looking. We met through volunteering on a infertility related committee together. She was looking for a birth mother. I listened and learned about the world of private adoption: advertising, resumes, portable adoption phones that ring in movie theaters, and birth mothers who can change their mind. I heard her voice the same insecurities we all feel when we want something so much and fear that somehow we are doing something wrong that will prevent what we want most from entering our lives. And we waited together for her pain to end. On a beautiful morning, the phone rang, my friend said to me, “Pam, you would never believe what has happened!”

And she welcomed her baby home.

I have waited for many babies. I am waiting now. The pain can end, the beginnings can happen. I am waiting with you.

Slight Cramping and only 5 dpo

Good Morning,

My name is Brittany, My husband and I have been visiting a fertility clinic after being diagnosed w/ PCOS. I am currently taking Metformin to help regulate my periods. I had an appt on 7-8-09 for my follow up. He did an internal sonogram and stated that I have ovulated beautifully and to come back in about 3 months for another follow up, if I have not conceived then, he would put me on fertility meds. My question is, ever since I left his office I have felt slight cramping in my "uterus" area, yesterday I felt sooo tired, my eyes were watering by 7 pm. When I urinate I feel slight cramping in my uterus area also. My breasts and nipples are also sore, not so sore that I cant touch them, but sore when I lay or accidently touch the nipple. What can be the cause of this? Am I just imagining all of this, or are these early signs of pregnancy?

How do you use soy isoflavones....what is the BEST day to start? Boys or Girls?

Just in case AF shows, I want to be prepared to try again and I have heard mixed things on soy isoflavones. Some say don't do it as it causes infertility but everything else says as long as you only do it for the recommended 5 days it will help you. I am confused. ALSO does it really matter WHEN you take it for the 5 days? Is earlier better or the closer to your O day?

Is there an relation to clomid or soy and having a boy or a girl?

THANKS....AGAIN! :)

Is my Fertility monitor broken?

I am on CD17 and I started having EWCM about 40 hours ago. I am stil having quite a bit of it. My fertility monitor keeps saying "low fertility" on it. The stick I use with the fertility monitor is showing two lines now. Why would it show two lines but low fertility?

I am took Femara CD days 4-8 and it has always worked for me but I did the ultrasound/trigger shot in the past five months. My RE said she did not think I needed the trigger anymore because I just had an operation and found out I had endometriosis and both tubes were blocked with polyps.

I Think I'm Finally Pregnant!!!!!

So, I took three pregnancy tests today and they all came up positive!!! Thank God!!!! I am so excited. I'm going to call and get a Dr.'s appointment tomorrow! It has been so long and so frustrating and so heartbreaking .... my husband and I are so excited now! We tried FertilAid for men, which did not work for us. I don't really know if this actually had anything to do with it, but I bought two fertility stones (a set for me and a set for my husband) from a local palm reader and now it's finally happened! I could not be more excited!!!!!!! Whatever it was, we couldn't be happier! :D

Robitussin for fertility? Does this REALLY work?

So I am trying to find all sorts of things that will help me be as fertile as I can be! LOL! :)

I have read about soy, wild yams, OTC fertility drugs (which I am not going to try due to high miscarriage rates that I have seen) and now Robitussin??

Does this really work? Has anyone tried it?

THANKS! :)

Are there and natural ways to boost fertility??? :)

Well, long story short, took a year and a half to conceive my son and we are hoping it will not take that long this time. I have heard things like soy isoflavones and wild yam tablets (or peelings) are great for fertility. I would like NOT to have to actually take meds if I can help it but any natural ways to boost fertility would be great!

THANK YOU SO MUCH! :)

Ureaplasma culture test

We were tested for this 2 years ago when starting with RE and DH tested + so he took antibotics. I tested negative.

In your practice, do you treat both parties with the meds or just the person who tests + for the infection? Also, do you have them re-take the test 2 weeks later to make sure the infection is gone or just assume that it is gone and move forward with treatments.

What is your thought on how this effects fertility and m/c rates? if 70% of the population (foudn that on the net, lol) has this then how can it really cause issues with fertility?

thx for your input :)

Is Ambesleep safe to take while trying to get pregnant

DH is having trouble sleeping at night. We found Ambesleep which is a natural sleep aid without the side effects found in Ambien. Is it safe for him to take this? He is also taking Fertility Blend for Men, along with other vitamins. We are concerned that it could cause fertility problems.
