2nd ivf attempt cancelled, low e2

My first attempt i started with lupron and gonal. It was cancelled since my e2 was only 45. Second attempt was with vivelle patch to increase my e2. It was 110 and was asked to remove to start gonal at 225. After 7 days of 225cc and 3 days of luveris, my e2 was just 79 although i have numerous follies. what have others done to get their e2 to rise? I have my appt on monday but want to get feeback beforehand from others.

1st cycle Clomid, Estrogen, and Progesterone

I found out today that I have PCOS and will be starting my 1st round of Clomid this cycle once I start my period with Provera. I am going to be taking Clomid CD 3-7 50mg, Estrogen CD 8-12, and then Progesterone CD 17 until either my period or hopefully, pregnancy(in which I will keep taking the progesterone). My question, has anyone taken Clomid along with Estrogen and Progesterone? Is this the standard way of prescribing and what can I expect?

Alicia's Journey

Well, I am finally going to post my journey. I went to the doctor today (Nov. 17) since I have not had a period since Aug. 5. I had a vaginal ultrasound and bloodwork to find out that I had PCOS, as I had suspected. I am going to take Provera to start my period and begin my 1st round of Clomid this cycle. I will be taking Clomid CD 3-7, Estrogen CD 8-12, and Progesterone CD 17 until I get my period or hopefully am pregnant (in which case I will keep taking it). I am really excited about starting this next chapter in TTC. I finally feel like I have gotten some answers and I really hope we get our little angel soon. I am going to continue to keep everyone posted on my journey.

Clomid for 1st time with Estrogen and Progesterone

I just found out today that I have PCOS, although I had suspected it. I am going to begin my 1st round of Clomid after I start my period with Provera.
Elevated Estrogen Level

Dr. Q, Last month CD 3 BW revealed an FSH level of 20 and a normal estrogen level. When I spoke with my RE about this he told me (as you said he would) that I have lowered or diminished ovarian reserve but not premature (I'm 32) ovarian failure because I still get a period. Based on my test results though, my IUI cycle was cancelled and I was told to come back for more BW next cycle. If at that point my FSH was still elevated we would do IVF. If levels were normal then we would proceed with IUI.

Today CD 3 BW came back with an FSH level of 6.4 and an estrogen level of 151 (These results are more in line with my past cycles in which no cysts were found). Now my treatment options are once again up in the air pending an US tomorrow. I have faith in my RE and his staff but all the waiting to undergo treatment is getting to me. Do you have any insight about what treatment options I'll be given this month?

Low Testosterone, High Estrogen

My husband just had bloodwork done and the results came back that his testosterone was at the very low end of normal and estrogen was elevated past the high end of the range. We are waiting on semen analysis results.

What do these hormone levels mean?

The urologist said that if sperm count is normal then we might need to do artificial insemination since I haven't gotten pg yet. If the count is low then there is some medication he can take to help bring it back up by raising the testosterone levels. At the same time he said if DH takes testosterone supplements then it could lower his sperm count??? Does this sound right??

Estrogen

I went to the doctor today for u/s and b/w. got my phone call this afternoon. my estrogen level did go up from 115 and today it's at 151. My question is how high does your estrogen have to be in order for ovulation or pregnancy to occur, I go back on saturday for another ultra sound and blood work. Also today is CD 13, do i have a chance for ovulation this cycle to be able to do an IUI?

Low estrogen level during IVF cycle

Hello, Doctors and the wonderful ladies of FT!

So I am in the middle of an IVF cycle. I am on Day 6 of stim. At the baseline bloodwork, my estrogen level was 24 and on Day 4 of stim, my level was at 94. Then today at Day 6 of stim, my level came down to 74. Nurse called and told me to increase my follistim to 100units (from 25units) and continue with 75units of menopur and 20 units of Lupron.

Do you think that with the increase in follistim, my estrogen level will increase? I am thinking that this may delay the egg retrieval....which is currently set for 11/17 (tentatively of course)

your thoughts are greatly appreciated!

thin lining can anything be done to help?

During U/S today nurse told me that my lining was a little thin but I didn't ask for any numbers, silly me!! Then when I spoke to the dr. forgot to ask. I took clomid so I'm sure that was one of the reasons. Can anything be done to help with this, maybe thicken the lining? I am taking a baby asprin each day. THANKS!!

Post ET protocols

I'm 40 yo and I just had my 5th IVF ET, this time with a new doc. My 1st IVF ended in an ectopic; my 2nd IVF resulted in a live birth, my 3rd was a FET and was a clinical preg.; my 4th was a fresh IVF and was a clinical preg.

This new doc has completely different post ET protocol. He does not do any bloodwork to check progesterone or estrogen. I'm on 4 mg. of estrogen and use prometrium 3 x a day. That's it. My old doc checked my blood every 3 days and altered my estrogen and progesterone accordingly. Also, he had us using progesterone shots, not vaginal insertsHe also had me taking 1 low dose aspirin with calcium daily. What are your thoughts on the difference, I am programmed to think that monitoring the hormone levels are necessary and worry about this.

Kelly's Journey With Secondary Infertility

Well I'm no stranger to this website but this is the first time I have posted my Journey. My issue is with secondary infertility.

After I had my daughter, Samantha, (who is 4 1/2 years old) I didn't think I would have any problems conceiving a second child. After all, even though I have always had irregular periods and my brother and I were both conceived with Clomid, I had barely been off the pill for a month before I found out I was pregnant. I was 2 months shy of my 28th birthday when I had her.

I'm now 32 and have been TTC for about 14 months. I had a miscarriage last January after 2 days of knowing I was pregnant. I don't count that pregnancy in my TTC months because it wasn't a sucessful conception. After my miscarriage, my OB advised me to wait 2 months before TTC again so my husband and I resumed efforts in April, which was my first month on Clomid. three unsucessful Clomid cycles and 1 cyst later, my OB referred me to an RE.

He determined that at the time I went to see him I was too far into my cycle to start Clomid so he had me do an HSG that month. My tubes are open and I had no structural abnormalities to speak of. My husband also had a sperm analysis that determined his sperm count is high with good motility and morphology. Therefore, I just waited for a new cycle to start to call the RE.

CD 3 bloodwork revealed a high estrogen level so I had an ultrasound but no cysts were visible. My CD 11 unltrasound revealed 1 developing a follicle and was on target to ovulate on CD 15. When I went back for an US and PCT on CD 13, however, the follicle was gone so the Doc explained that I may have ovulated early. Meanwhile, my PCT revealed no problems with sperm navagation through CM so I made an appointment for bloodwork the following week, which determined that my progesterone level was almost non-existent. Next month the RE upped my Clomid to 100 mg and once again CD 3 bloodwork revealed high estrogen but no cysts were found. At my CD 11 ultrasound though I had what looked like either a large follicle or a cyst so I was given an HCG injection and told to BD that night. Unfortunately, I started bleeding pretty heavily after that and havn't stopped yet. In response to my dillemma, I was put on birth control pills and will get injectables when a new cycle starts.

Believe me I thank God every day that I have 1 health child already but it doesn't erase the desire for another baby and the disappointment with what's happened in this attempt. My heart goes out to everyone who has had to experience infertility at any time in their life. Please tell me there's light at this end of this tunnel.

Handling Secondary Infertility
