Maternal age and prempro

I was recently placed on prempro starting CD2. I am to take this until my next CD1 & then begin stim injections. I had asked my RE for estrace since I am of maternal age to help with follicles and the production of FSH. My question is since this is used mainly for hot flashes etc, how does this work compared to plain estrace taken after ovulation. I was on BCP 2 months ago & this over suppressed and fried my follies. I would appreciate any in site or informaiton. I am not doing IVF but aggressive tx for an IUI.

ANOTHER question! Last one for the evening!

My doctor told me that I could stop taking my prometrium and estrace. I am currently 7 weeks. What EXACTLY were both medications helping with? Will anything change now that I am off these meds?

Hi Ladies & Dr. Q,

I'm currently 6 dpo and have noticed that my breasts seem to have increased 2 sizes overnight (woo hoo!). I'm taking estrace and progesterone - could it be from these drugs? I assume it's too early to see it as an early pregnancy sign?

Estrace & Vomiting?

Hi Dr. Q & Ladies -

I've been taking estrace to try and increase the thickness of my uterine lining since cd 10 (I'm currently on cd 15)and for the past few days have been experiencing pretty bad nausea and vomiting. Could this be related to the estrace and hormones or perhaps just the flu? Any thoughts? Thanks

Implantation Cramps and Estradice Pills

I am 3 days post a 5 day transfer for an IVF cycle. Up until this morning, I had felt very little in terms of possible implantation cramping. This morning I woke up early and between 5:30-7:00 am I was quite crampy. My basal boday temp was also 98.7/98.8. Any chance this could have been implantation cramping? Typically, how long does implantation cramping last? It's now 9:00 am and the cramping has gone. I had two Grade 2 cavitating morulas transfered Thursday, june 12.

BBT and Estrogen?

Hi Dr.Q, I have been taking estradiol 1mg twice daily for the past 6 days to help thicken the lining on my uterus. My Bbt has been above 97.7 for the past 12 days, is this normal? I have been unable to find any information about estrogen causing your temps to rise. I thought the only thing that caused this is progestorine. Is it possible that I ovulated the last time my temp dipped 12 days ago and they wouldn't have been able to tell on the u/s 5 days later? I really appreciate your advice.

I had an us done this morning and it showed that the lining on my uterus is really thin and I did not ovulate! I do have several small follicles, the largest is 11. My doctor is putting me on estace for 7 days, then one week after finishing it she wants me to take prometrium again for another 10 days. She said it is possible that I will ovulate without the help of clomid shortly after finishing the estrace because this might help the follicles to grow while increasing the lining on my uterus. Also, I have a large amount of free fluid in my cluldesac and she wants me to see my gyno about this. What could cause the free fluid? I believe this is why I have been cramping so badly. Is there anything that I can do to help thicken the lining? Any advice on where to go from here? Thank you Dr.Q

I know I have told you some of this before but I talked to my doctors office and got some more info. I finished my clomid on the 9th, had an us on the 11th showed I had 10 follicles, 6 of which are over 10 mm. I just called them to see what the largest sizes were at the time and on my right ovary I had one 16x13x14 and on the left 14x11x7. How big do they need to be and what do you think my chances are of ovulating this month? Also, my uterine lining was 2.6 how thick does it need to be? The dr put me on 1mg of estrace twice a day for three days, do you think this is enough? I am also suppose to start taking prometrium 100mg twice a day starting this Saturday. Thank you for your help!

I took clomid for 5 days, I finished them on the 9th. I had an ultrasound yesterday that said I have 10 follicles, 6 of which are over 10 mm. My doctor is starting me today on Estrace twice a day for 3 days. She wants me to start timed intercourse every other day starting this Sunday. The following Saturday she wants me to start Prometrium twice a day for 10 days. Does this all make since to you and do you think my chances of conceiving this month are good? Oh and when do you think ovulation will occur? Thanks for your help.

Hi,

I am new to this site, so i will give a little info about my situation.

I have currently done 3 rounds of clomid and in the two week wait. My husband and I have been ttc for 2+ years, this cycle I was very upset and frustrated. I discussed my feelings with our RE. He was very supportive and suggested a monitored cycle and possibly doing an iui next cycle (4). I was very happy to be involved, at day ll the ulrtasound showed a thin lining of 4.1, the ultrasound tech gave estrace for 5 days, by the time I got a blood lh surge on day 16 my lining grew to 10.1, 1 follie on left side which was 21 and one on the right that was 23.

I am 12dpo, I am wondering when can i expect a positive pregnancy test, did one today but it was neg. Also, my RE wants me to switch to femmera next cycle, will femmera help me to have two follies, which would increase our odds especially with the iui. And one last question, my period for the last two years only last 2-3 days and are very light, would this indicate that i had a problem with lining even before the clomid and how can i naturally improve it.
