Dr. or ladies, is this pain normal in pregnancy?

Hello, I am a little over 9 weeks pregnant. I have endometriosis and used to get an ache type pain in my thighs and groin during my periods. I hadn't had that pain since the pregnancy however, I have it today (It is not near a missed period date). At my u/s at 6 weeks 5 days they noted an ovarian cyst and fibroids and said they didn't think they were a concern but would keep an eye on them. Is this pain normal? Is it something I should worry about or contact my doctor about? Thanks!

Confused

Hi. My name is Ashley and I am new to this site. I am 23 years old, married, and the mother of a 1.5yo girl. My husband and I aren't really TTC, but we're also not NOT trying. Anyway, I am confused right now because I had my last period on September 5th, and haven't had any spotting or bleeding or anything since that cycle. I have taken six tests since October 3rd, the most recent one today. They all were urine tests and all were negative. The one today was at the health clinic on my college campus and the nurse practitioner told me that since I weigh 266lbs and have mild unwanted facial hair and haven't had a period in two months that I must have PCOS. She didn't run any tests to prove this, but she told me that I should take progesterone for ten days to force a cycle. I wanted a blood test and/or an ultrasound to rule out any other possibilities, but they couldn't do those tests at the clinic so I told her I would consult with my husband and figure out what to do. My maternal and paternal grandmothers, a paternal aunt and a maternal aunt, my mother, my sister, and two cousins all have endometriosis, but the NP didn't think I could have that. I have had Trichimonis and Bacterial Vaginosis as a teenager but they were both treated right away. I know it is rare for a woman to test negative this late in pregnancy, but I do know of it happening. I have resigned myself to the idea that I am most likely not pregnant, but I am worried about what to do now. I don't want to take random medication to treat an issue if that is not what is really wrong with me. I guess I just need to know what the next step should be.

sperm count

Hi there. We have recently started trying to conceive baby number 2. I have endometriosis and PCOS on one ovary. I have currently started metformin 1500mg 5 weeks agao. my husband has recently had a sperm count done. It showed he has 18 percent normal forms of total 180 million. Does this mean he's infertile? Do you need normal forms over 30%? Many thanks

endometrosis diagnosis

Dr.Q.,

I hope you can answer. I know that endometrosis can't be diagnosed by a vaginal exam; however, is there something during a vaginal exam that might raise suspicion of endometrosis? If so what would it be?

Pregnancy after Miscarriage

I was diagnosed with mod. endo via laparascopy and all was removed. I got pregnant the next cycle with no problems. 12 weeks later i had a missed miscarriage followed by a d&c. It has been 3 months since my miscarriage but we have only tried 1 month out of the 3, and I think I was anovulatory that month since it was the first month after d&c. We are planning on trying again this month. My question is, do I still have a chance to get pregnant now, has the endo had enough time to come back so much to interfere with me getting pregnant again? Do I have a better chance getting pregnant now that I have been pregnant before? Thank You

Secondary infertility

I got pregnant the first time very easily. We conceived our daughter two weeks after stopping the pill. Since her birth 19 months ago we haven't been able to have another child. (No birth control ever used since her birth) I had a laparascopy 2 years before I became pregnant. Most recently I've had lupron depot injections to get rid of endometriosis and on top of endometriosis I have pcos but don't fit the physical aspects of the disease although I have irregular cycles.( I do take metformin) Since its so hard to get pregnant the second time around, does it mean when I try to have baby #3 and #4 it will be just as hard? Thank you!!

Treating Endometriosis

I have moderate endometriosis that is causing endometriosis. I also have bipolar disorder. I am pretty confident that Lupron Depot will work for me. My psychiatrist says it will cause psychosis. Is that so?

What other proven treatments are available that will allow me to restore my childbearing ability?

Natural Progesterone PCO and Ovulation Signs

Hi there,

This is a bit of a complicated question so bare (sp?) with me!

I have cystic ovaries by u/s but my bloods and insulin are normal. I had years of amenorrhea after coming off the pill. I started periods again this year by taking Vitex but it seemed to push me way the other way with both high est. (and seemingly high prog. - blue veins anyone?) but still estrogen dominant symptoms.

I've been using natural prog. cream to control the est. dominant/endo symptoms but was using it CD5-28 with breakthrough spotting.

This month I wanted to change that to CD15-26 as things are better and I'm TTC.

I broke from the cream for a week following some spotting but had no true period, resumed it for a week and started spotting/bleeding again. As I wasn't sure if this was more spotting or an actual period I continued with the cream till the 3rd or 4th day and then stopped it as it was a true period.

I bled till CD6 then had EWCM and increased libido, breast tenderness through to CD10. CD9 I had right sided ovulation pain and very vague lower back pain. Had the odd twinge in the ovary CD10. We BDd CD7 and CD10.

My questions are... would continuing the cream till CD3/4 have possibly inhibited ovulation and the pain was endo related (though so soon after a bleed? my 'endo' pain was always in the back from midcycle until period)?

Also, is it possible to ovulate that early in your cycle and could I in fact have had an opportunity to concieve?

Some advice and insight would be grrreatly appreciated. Also any ideas to what to do about ovaries that look cystic but without the other qualifiers for PCOS. Thanks in advance :)

How to ask doc for a laproscopy??

Hi,

For the past year I've had cramping, severe bloating and constipation even on the days I'm not having my period. I told doc about this a year ago and I went to have an Ultra Sound of my uterus, ovaries, and cervix and everything was fine and I also had an HSG back in July which showed open tubes. How can I approach my gyno to ask to have a laproscopy to rule out endo?? and is this test even necessary for me to have?? I still have my symptoms. What should I do??

endometrosis

DR.Q,

Thank you for your answer. Would having very light periods prior to birth control pills with no ovulation signs indicate that endometrosis could be a problem in the future?

how soon after a lap can you try?

I'm scheduled for a lap on nov 4 for endometriosis. If the doctor is able to clean it all up in there and gives us the go ahead (something i actually doubt will happen), does anyone know how long we would have to wait to ttc?
