DR. Q or DR. EVA...Question about follicle size & endometrial lining

I have PCOS and This is my third cycle of Clomid and I went in for my ultrasound today. I have one folly on each ovary. One on the right is 16mm and one on the left is 15mm. Last month my follicles regressed and did not respond to 50 mg of clomid. this cycle I took 150mg and at cd 11, follicle size seems ok. Do you think I will regress again? additionally, today my endometrial lining measured 4.7mm. That doesn't sound very good. Is that going to hinder my chance of getting pregnant this month? What do you think?

Dr Q

Dr Q,Can fallopian tube TB result in unilateral hydrosalpinx? My endometrial lining was 6.5mm in my last ultrasound. Is it normal? With fertility treatments will my lining improve? Can a laproscopic examination tell the difference between hydrosalpinx and fallopian tube cysts? Sorry for so many questions. This ertility journey is very tough and thanks for this wonderful site for helping us all.

Ok, so my dad told me that my mom has a fibroid the size of a grapefruit. She's been bleeding for 3 months straight..and finally went to the doc. She is going to have a biopsy done.

I know nothing about fibroids. She is barely 50 yrs old. What could it mean? Possible cancer?

Thanks for any insite!

PCOS

I have PCOS and have never had a period on my own for at least 4 years. I have only had a period if I take Provera. Friday I started spotting brown discharge and Saturday was a bit brighter but then stopped. What could this mean? I have not been on medication or had a period since Oct 07.

Dr. Q: Fibroids

Dr. Q -

If I do have one of the fibroids you mentioned (endometrial polyp and/or submucosal fibroid) that can cause infertility do you know if the the fibroid is removed then one can have a normal pregnancy? Would a fibroid have shown up in the HSG that I had a few months ago? Wondering if this is something new and only had it since the hsg. I'm also curious if this fibroid could actually keep someone from getting pregnant or would one be able to get pregnant but not be able to keep it. Thanks so much, I have so many things running through my mind, trying to clear up a few. I appreciate any input and I know it is difficult to comment when you have not seen me as a patient.

Endometrial conversion

Hi Dr.Q,

Recently i read an article which says that, a dosage of 100 milligrams twice a day or 200 milligrams per day of natural progesterone will usually produce endometrial conversion or prevent hyperplasia. what does it mean? please explain...

After an ectopic and menstrual cycle

I'll do my best to keep this short so that I don't rant and rave. :)

Since I started my period at 15, I have always been 'normal' with my cycle. I had light periods; not a lot of cramping.

I had an ectopic pregnancy in October 2006, resulting in the removal of my left tube. I missed the month of November(which I expected) then had two periods in December and January(2007). Then I didn't have a period from February till July, I believe.

When I finally did get the period in July, it was the most painful period I have ever had, along with heavy bleeding. It's been over a year since the surgery and I have yet to be 'normal' again.

Is this how it is going to be for the rest of my life?

This entire ectopic pregnancy experience, along with the OB/GYN's I met with has been terrible for me. I'm sure I'll understand why I had to go through it one day, but I seriously begin to have anxiety thinking about going to see another GYN or OB.

My husband suggested going to see a therapist(he would since he is in school for that). I should be starting next week. This is not me! It's so frustrating.

There I go ranting and raving. Any advice is welcomed.

Thank you in advance.
