Pancreatic cyst causing endometriosis-like symptoms?

I have a pancreatic cyst. Could this be causing abdominal pain and cramping, and possibly infertility? My doctor thinks I might have endometriosis, because every test has come back normal or close enough to normal to not be concerned. I just don't want to have unnecessary testing done, but have been TTC for 14 months with no success. Any ideas?

I had a CT scan of my abdomen because of unexplained abdominal pain, when the cyst was found. I don't know the size of the cyst, but it was confirmed about a year and a half ago.

Should I do the HSG now, or wait for a laproscopy?

I have been TTC for 15 months now, and as far as I know have never been pg. I have been tested for just about everything, except Lap to check for endometriosis, and HSG for blocked tubes...my doc wants to do both, but I can't afford both right now, as insurance will not cover it because it would be considered pre existing. I either have to wait til April to have it covered, or pay out of pocket. I have already been waiting over a year to find out what is going on, and it's not getting any better. I want to do the HSG first, instead of at the same time as the LAP.

What do you think? Should I just tough it out for the next few months, and wait for insurance, or do it now? My gut feeling is there is a blockage, because I have regular cycles, ovulate on my own (determined thru progesterone test), and hit all the right days for TTC.

I am 23 and my bf is 32 and has 4 kids of his own, so he has no problem!

Has anyone had either one of these procedures, and what was your diagnosis and outcome?

PCOS & ENDOMETRIOSIS

In september I had laproscopy and found out that I have PCOS and Endo. The OB burned off several small cysts from my ovaries and some endo from behind my uterus. After the surgery I started having pain again and made an appointment for 11/13/08. I told my OB that I had been thinking about having another baby and then having a hystarectomy because I just cant stand the pain anymore. He told me that He didnt think I would have any problems getting pregnant but that I have another cyst starting to form. Should I be worried about this????

Pregnancy, endo, and miscarriage

I have mild/mod. endo removed during lap 6 months ago, no damage to tubes and I ovulate on my own. I concieved effortlessly first cycle post lap and miscarried at 12 wks. Its been 3 months since then and still no pregnancy.I went to my OB to get a referall to an RE,and they said that the could not refer me because I would not "technically" be considered infertile, being that I did achieve pregnancy 6 months ago. I am worried that the endo has had time to come back with avengance. Here are my questions:

-Is there a chance that the endo could block my tubes in this amount of time?

-Could the endo come back at a more severe stage (only mild/mod. found during lap)?

-When should I ask for another lap if pregnancy doesnt happen?

-Do I have a better chance of concieving now that I have already done it once?

-And most importantly, what are my chances of ever becoming pregnant again naturally?

Sorry for all the questions but I want to be aggresive as possible and I really need some hope. Thank you so much.

Pregnancy with endo after m/c

I have endometriosis. I became pregnant the first cycle after lap. I lost the pregnancy at 12 wks. Its been 3 months since my miscariage and I am unable to bet pregnant. What are the chances that the endo has come back enough to cause me to be infertile (in 3 months time)? Also if I decide to take femara for superovulation, should I be concerned about OHSS? How common is this with femara? Thank you

Does anyone know if getting preg actually helps endo?

Just wondering if anyone knows the answer to that question: Does anyone know if getting preg actually helps endo?

I was told today that I have to have a lap done again because of my pain frm endo and the gyno told me I may have to have my overies and tubes removed if the endo has demaged them badly enogh. Im so upset and stressed atm.

The only hope he did offer me is that if we can get pregs b4 the op it may be enough to help ease my endo...

Suggestions to deal with pain from endo

I have endo and pcos (have known about both of these for at least 10yrs now). I suffer from some pretty major pain about 90%. The pain is always around my overies and feels like a sharpe, stabbing, twisting, pulling type feeling. And the area is always tender to touch even whn the pain isnt so bad.

I have had my endo lasered in the past few months. And normally can manage my pain with penodine forte, heat packs and the use of a TENS machine. But this past wk the pain has jst gotten to the point that I cant sleep and when I walk it just makes the pain worse.

The pain runs frm my pelvic (overies) area, straight thru to my back and down the inside of my legs. I have now not had a decent nights sleep for about a wk or more.

The pain is also so bad that its makeing me feel sick in the stomach and have been getting heaps of hotflushes. And BD for like the past 3months has jst been so VERY painful around 60% Im asking my fiancee to stop because the pain is so bad.

Im seeing my gyno 2morro afternoon but was wondering if anyone could offer any suggestions on how to cope with the pain. Im running on empty here and if I dont get some decent sleep or at very least some decent rest soon then I think Im gonna end up going crazy. I really cant take the pain any longer I spend my days laying around curled up crying its so bad.

May be also helpful to know I am also as of todat cd1 after a 80 day cycle. I dont usually o on my own and had to take PrimolutN to bring af on

Endometriosis and IVF.

Hello Dr.Q and Ladies,

I have a question concerning Endo. My husband and I have been trying to conceive for more than a year now. I'll be 32 this month and he is 35. My doc believes that I have Endo, I did 4 cycles on clomid, and 1 IUI without sucess. The diagnosis also found that my left tube is blocked. I would like your advice on what we should next, what is better laparoscopy or going straight to IVF. If I get pregnant, my endo would prejudice the fetus in any aspect? any advice will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

andreia.

My ultra sound today.....

Ok so I had to go in and have a pelvic ultra sound done since we havent been able to conceive and my cycles are all jacked up.

The ultra sound tech called in the dr because something didnt look right to him, so the dr came in and the tech was showing him my endo. lining. The doc said that my lining is very thick and I have cysts in it. He said something about it probably being from my wacky hormones, but there is a chance that it could be endo. cancer!!!! Has anyone gone through this before that could give me some advice on how to handle it? The doc is putting in for me to get an endo. biopsy but I dont know how long I will have to wait to do it. I dont know if I should be freaking out or that it has even hit me yet!! PLEASE HELP!!! Any advice?!?

They had always been so very painful and heavy for me but ppl would just say I was going thru puberty and it would all settel down in a yr or so. Well a yr or so pased and it didnt settle but actually got worse. Then doctors decided I was just 'putting it on' so I wouldnt have to go to school.

My pain would be so bad that I would be in bed with a hot water bottle and unable to move for like 3 wks out of 4. I missed all of my teenage yrs because of this. When all my friends where out at parties I was sick at home.

At times I ended up in hospital the pain was so bad but a very most I would only be told it was pms and to 'get over it'

Then when I was about 17 I decided enough was enough and went to a different gp who actually believed me. Guess it helped I was actually doubled over in pain and in tears in his surgery. He then referred me to my first gyno who only had to hear my story once b4 saying I was going into hospital and would be having surgery to locate the issue. Within the month I had, had my op and was informed that I had slight endo. This eased my mind, knowing that it wasnt all in my head but there was actually something wrong with me.

I then got tried on a wide range of pills none having any affect. Within the next 2yrs I had af for 14months straight with very heavy bleeding and extreme pain.

They did another op and discovered my endo needed lasering at the same time theY discovered I also had bad pcos. With my right overy being so enlarged it actally almost raptured my appendix, which I had to havge removed to prevent this.

So by the time of my 21st birthday I was being presented with my choices 1. bounce from medication to medication hoping they would eventually help me or 2. have a complete hysterectomy. I refused straight that the 2nd opinion would not even be considered. I had always been the girl who didnt want kids but as soon as I was told it may never happen all I could think about was how I wanted to be a mummy one day. So I started on trying every pill and hormone treatment out there. Still none helped. But I didnt lose hope that my wonder drug was out there somewhere just waiting to be discovered.

I wouldnt accept that endo and pcos would cause infertility as I had gotten preggo at the age of 17 to a guy who raped me daily at school.I ended up losing that baby but took it just as Gods way of helping me get thru the truama of the abuse.

Then Just over 2yrs ago I met a wonderful guy on the internet and within 23 days of us first chatting on the net we had met face to face and fallen madly in love. We began a long distance relationship, as he lived in the city and I lived in the country. Just a few months into our relationship we knew we where soul mates and decided that even tho we lived 5hrs apart we wanted to start trying for a baby and would at the same time plan for me to move out of home and in with him we tried and tried but nothing except a miscarriage at 6wks. I eventually got an appoint to see a new gyno in the city (wher eI had since moved too) about 12months after starting ttc. I walked in and the first thing he said was 'congrats your preg' I was like 'but I cant be I got my period yday' he did a u/s and looked at me with one of those looks you just know is goona be followed by bad news. All I remember after that is him saying 'Im sorry' me breaking down and crying and wishing my bf was with me (but he was at work) and him handing me a script for clomid 50mg and metformin. That was Nov 08 and I wass 10-11wks preg.

I have since discovered that I dont ovulate without the help of medications. And I have also had a PID which I pray I never get again, it was total hell!

We have found out in the last 2months that my now fiancee also has male factor infertiliy with only 20% sluggish sperm out of 30million and %80 inactive. As well as this in the past month on my 4th cycle of clomid I finally got preg but had a chemical almost 3 days afetr getting my bfp hpt. Which I am still dealing with my grief for.

So atm we are on a ttc break for at least 3months while we both try to sought out our fertility issues and lose weight etc as well as deal with our emotions and grief caused by out loses.

But we dont see this as the end. In some strange way it is just the begining. I truelly need to hold on to the hope that someway somehow we will be blessed with a little angel to care for and love as God would want us too.....

I realy fely I had to share my journey thus far. Im not sure why I felt I had to share, maybe its to help me heal or to accept my situation. Im really not sure. Im just folloing my heart/head and hoping that somehow my story will help someone else, even if its just by knowing that your not alone on this ttc journey...

Sending you all tons on ***baby dust***

accupuncture and endo

Hi was just wondering if anyone had ever used accupuncture as a way of treating the pain caused by endo and pcos. Im currently on the waiting list to have endo lasered but the list is like 3-4months long and I want to try cut down my pain meds coz Im really worried wat type of demage etc they are doing to my liver etc. The endo pain is so bad that half the time Im stuck in bed coz I cant stand to move etc.

Im booking in to have accupuncture done for my neck and back and thought that while Im at it maybe I should mke an appoint for it to be done for endo pain too...

All thoughts and opinions would be muchly appriciated...

WOOHOO IM PREGGO!!!!!!!!!!!!

I did my last hpt yday and got + so had my bloods done yday also as thy had already been arranged to be done. Any wat I got my numbers back not long ago and it says that I preg!!!!!! it was 10 which the gyno assures me is a good num for so early. Omg I cant believe this!!!!! He told me he will be giving me progesterone starting tomorrow when I see him (already had an appt booked). He also said that this is a VERY high risk preg coz of how bad my endo and pcos appear to be I also informed him of shanes sperm issue and he said that, that also contributes to it being high risk. Im on bed rest, Im not allowed to lift, clean etc and only allowed on my feet for 20mins at a time. So it looks like life for me over the next few months is tafe and bed.....Omg I still cant believe it!!!!!!

It feels like a dream....

hi dr.Q....a question about fimbria...my re mentioned that i could possibly have damaged fimbria due to exposure to chlamidiya or endo. i haven't been diagnosed with endo, but do have symptoms similar....can the damaged fimbria be healed, or is it a permanent problem?

IVF/Weight

Just wondering what it the recommanded weight range for any of the ivf type procedures. Im 25yrs old 189cm tall and weigh 130kg (very overweight :O( ) I have PCOS and ENDO plus my feience has a sperm problem. We are in the process of getting his sperm issues looked at and I am already currently seeing a gyno. But we have been told that we may need to go down the ivf path. I was just trying to get an idea of how much weight I should be trying to lose. Iv set myself a long term goal of 40kg but will this be enough. Short term I am aiming for losing around 10kg every 4-6wks....
