What type of doctor do i see about getting my eggs checked?

My husband and I have been trying to have a baby for some time now, we are both 21 years of age and have been unable to get pregnant. Today my husband went to the doctor to see about getting his sperm checked out to make sure hes healthy and able to have kids and i want to do the same, the only problem is i dont know where exacly to look or go about that for myself. Do i go to an OBGYN or do i go to a fertility doctor... I really have no idea, anything you can give me to help me understand and point me in the direction to forward my journy to have a child(ren) would be greatly thanked.

Can I do anything to stimulate egg production

I know this is going to sound weird...I have been trying to get pregnant for over a year now. I have been on Clomid because I do not ovulate on my own. When I take CLomid and they do an ovarian scan we always see eggs on the right side only. Every month...on the right. I recently had an ectopic pregnancy on the right side and we were able to salvage the tube, but my doctor wants me to become pregnant from the left side. The only problem (even though the left ovary looks perfectly fine acording to my doctor) we never see eggs on the left.

I have had a few months of ovulation and periods on my own since the ectopic pregnancy, but I have only ovulated from the left. Can I do anything (vitamins, foods, anything) to help my left ovary out? I know this probably sounds silly, but I am pretty sure our insurance will not pay for IVF or GIFT (which our doctor has brought up)...Any suggestions/ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks!

IVF extraction cancelled

so, today we went in, and it turns out, my eggs never really got "into the groove." i only produced three good eggs. my estrogen levels never even got to 500. and my doctor only gave us a 25% live birth chance.

we decided to cancel the extraction, and try again.

i understand everyone is different. i can only hope that by doing things differently next time, i will get different results.

how it started

after my daughter was born, i decided to tie my tubes.

five years later, a divorce, and an engagement...IVF is a part of my life.

i'm 38, and the idea of another baby is a welcome to me.

so, as we begin our tests, we find out that my partner has a low sperm count...due to an operation to his testies when he was just 9-yrs-old. also, they contain antibodies.

now, 11 days into my cycle...it would appear my eggs are few (about 10 total) and small (about 10mm), and my estrogen levels are low.

i'm trying to stay positive, my doctor says sometimes it takes a little longer for the eggs to get going. but he's also telling us that unless we get at least 4-5 "good ones" we may need to think about canceling the extraction.

(sigh) i'm trying to stay positive, but i'm wondering if my doctor is setting us up for cancellation.

he's giving my eggs two more days to get their act together.

:-(

Super Ovulation and Trying to Conceive

What is this all about? I have heard of women taking Clomid who ovulate normally in the hope of having super ovulation. Is this truly a way to produce more eggs and have a superovulation, making it more likely to get pregnant due to more "targets" for the sperm to hit?

What to expect when you are monitored after CLOMID?

Today is my last day of Clomid. In the next few days will be

a hard bdng with my hubby. 

I have a sched with my doc on cd14 and according to her Assistant, it’ll be monitoring of eggs.

Would like to know what should I expect while doing this activity?

And what are the things that I should do in preparation?

Appreciate your ideas and experiences on this matter. Thanks n’ hugs.

A few questions regarding teeth and feeding babies....

Okay all you veteran mommies.. and maybe the doctors have some input?

1. Christian just turned 7 months old and he has NO teeth yet! It seems like all the babies around his age and even younger have at least 1, some even have 3 or 4.. should I be concerned?

2.I'm concerned about how much he is eating. His weight is exactly average.. and he's slightly longer than average.. but the way he eats I'd expect him to have fat rolls the size of my leg or something. He drinks about 6 to 7 bottles (6-8 oz) a day... (His dr said he should be eating between 24 and 32 oz of formula.. so he's definietly drinking morer than he has to....) but he's also eating 3-4 stage 2 jars of baby food a day plus a big bowl of cereal! He cries and cries for more.. so of course I let him eat it.. he's not overweight.. and he's drinking enough formula, so why not, right? But is he eating too much? Could it hurt him?

3.Why aren't you supposed to give babies egg whites? I was reading in my what to expect the first year and it suggested giving babies his age chunks of cheese or bread or egg yolk or even ground hamburger to self feed. I let him self feed with baby food, crackers, graham crackers, suckers, candy canes, biter biscuits etc... and I give him bites of what we eat sometimes... but why not egg whites? It seems like some scrambled eggs would be a good thing for him to chew on? Is it an "allergy prevention" thing? Because if so his doctor says that all of that is boloney. And should I really give him those things... if he has no teeth?

4.Last question.. sorry there are soooooooo many.. he's not crawling or scooting at all.. he can sit up by himself, mostly.. and he doesn't roll over often.. should I be worried about that? He CAN roll over, we've seen him do it but he doesn't seem to like to... and he wants to move.. he's gotten up on his arms in crawling position but then he just stops...

Thanks for reading all that.. and if you have any input on even one of the questions it will be much appreciated.

hello, I was on 50mg for 3 cycles.. I ovulated all three cycles but the third cycle I developed a huge cyst (9cm, he is considering that poor ovulation)

so my RE is putting me on 100mg of clomid with IUI and HCG trigger shot.

will the higher dosage of clomid result in more eggs?

Possible to ovulate more than one egg when you haven't had a period in months?

I went through several months of lupron depot for endometriosis. My doctor said I could check OPK's around 9 weeks after my last injection. I've been checking for over a week and yesterday finally got a +!! But I've had terrible terrible pains on both sides. Could it possibly be that I am about to ovulate more than one egg since I haven't had a period in over 5 months? I never noted ovulation to be this painful before and from both ovaries. Thank you so much!!

All eggs immature after an IVF retrieval.

My wife and I have had two IVF treatments from different fertility facilities. On our first visit the Doctors found polyps and surgically removed them. After they were removed all of her tests came back positive given her the green light for IVF. Before going for retrieval she had about 5 follicles well with in the range for mature eggs. They retrieved 20 eggs and all of them were very immature. We then went to a different Dr. and my wife was responding well to all of the IVF drugs, because of past experience he waited one extra day before doing the retrieval and got 13 eggs. All very immature (3 extremely immature and 10 very immature, at an M1 stage). We were told that this is extremely rare and that is possible that she doesn’t have any eggs capable of maturing but this not likely. The next step the Dr. wants to do is change her protocol. Maybe use different drugs and wait even longer for the HCG shoot. Does it sound like we are on the correct path in getting this resolved? Are there facilities around NYC area that specializes in unexplained infertility that we should be speaking to before proceeding with another IVF? Any help with explaining what might be happening here and what we should be doing would be greatly appreciated.
