Anyone tried or trying DHEA for egg quality?

DHEA is supposed to help with egg quality. A friend going through infertility was told by her doc to give it a try. She is taking it for 5 months with letrozole. I'm going to talk to my fertility specialist about it, already got the ok from the ob/gyn after my LAP.

We are due to start semen cyrotherapy on 9th January 2009 as our consultant has said to freeze as much as possible before starting IVF. Can anyone tell us what to expect from this 1st meeting, for example, will we have a consultation 1st or will my partner just have to give a sample? We are in the UK.

Also, we are looking at me being an egg donor whilst we undergo IVF as our problem is solely low sperm count, has anyone been an egg donor? What will I have to expect? I will be ringing a hospital tomorrow for more details

Is there ever a case where two people are just not able to get pregnant together. For example, is it possible for a certain woman's egg and a certain man's sperm to be incompatible and therefore make it impossible for them to get pregnant?

Hello,

Well, now that I did the LAP and hysteroscopy I have pretty much covered all basis and can't seem to find "anything wrong". I have been ttc for almost 17 months, age 37. I did 3 IUIs and one IVF. My eggs weren't the best, out of 16 retrieved, 9 fertilized by themselves and 3 were put back in. One was really good and the other 2 were not so bad but the rest didn't make it to freezing. So it looks like maybe my eggs could be one of the problems. I heard and read a little bit about DHEA and egg quality. Wondering what your thoughts are about it and if you have any experiences with it. THANKS so much!

Using Actual Egg Whites as lubricant?

I've read online where some people used actual egg whites as lubricants while they are trying to conceive. I read that the actual egg whites mimic cervical egg white mucus cause the sperm to travel better and fertilize the egg.

I want to know if this is true and sanitary? Is there any other FDA tested and approved lubricant that aides cervical mucus?

I just read on another website that cycle lengths over 29 days indicate a possibility of poor egg quality. My cycle length before the pill was about 31 days. Does this indicate poor egg quality?

When I had my ET last time RE require me to take doxycycline antibiotics after ET transfer Is this safe to take while trying to get pregnant? It won't result for another M/C in the future? I'm scared to take it thought might have another M/C in the future. I know why they recommend to take it bec. they don't want any infection bec. foreign object went inside me...Please help!!!Thanks a lot Dr.Q

1) what do YOU think is the best method or product for lubricant while ttc?

2) if you've had a BFP, what did you use that month?

I figure we can get a good amount of info on it by pulling our experiences together into one post.

So....what are your thoughts???

I had an u/s today and they said that I should trigger on Monday night and the egg retrieval will be on Tuesday morning! I'm so excited, anxious, and nervous. It's finally happening and I want it to work so bad!....I know we need to be realistic too. The nurse said that things looked good. I had 12 (6 on each side) follicles that were 12 to 19mm and 4 under 10mm. I hope I get some good eggs to work with! They hope to do a day-5 transfer and put 2 embryos in. I'm 39 so I'm wondering if they should do 3 but they don't try to get multiples. I should trust that they know what they are doing. My mind is racing a million miles a minute!

I am Oing today and never got egg white CM. I am on Mucinex and have been since CD8. I got a positive OPK on CD14...today is CD15. Does this mean if I don't get egg white that I can't get pregnant? My CM only got to the stage of watery/milky.

Ok... just wondering if u have heard of ppl using egg whites( the ones u eat) when TTC? Is it safe? Would it cause any problems?
